Came back again after nearly a year. It still remains on of the best rotisserie chicken experiences I've ever had. Service was fast and easy, can't complain. The ambiance? It's primarily a togo type place, so not much seating, and all of it is outdoors. Not an issue for me! I got a half chicken combo, which still comes with the chicken (with lemon garlic butter), rice, beans, and some tortillas of your choice (flour or corn). I got the corn tortillas, and it also comes with pico de gallo as well as a red salsa. Just like last time, I was floored with how good it was. Tender rotisserie chicken, with a crazy amount of garlic flavor. You can see the chunks just dressed all over it. The rice, although flavorful, was pretty standard, but the beans were the best side, by far. Simple refried beans, but so well flavored and creamy, you'd think you were eating something with dairy in it (besides the cheese on top). The tortillas were super hot, and served as a great vessel for the beans/rice/chicken. I love everything about this meal. I just can't fault it! read more

So disappointed. I came here starving after being at Hoag with someone. I looked at yelp before I got here and it looked pretty good. I ordered and it came out to $14.22 which was way more than the menu. They charge more if you use card. The burrito is not super, it's small. It also was bad, it reminds me more of some healthy chicken wrap with some beans than a Mexican burrito. I also asked for it wet and they said if I did that they would take stuff out of it so I left it alone. I also got an order of fries for someone else and they were $6 and soggy. Best breakfast burrito in Newport Beach! Here's why. This spot's been around forever. I was a local here for years, moved away, and now that I'm back, this was one of the first places I had to come back to first. Their breakfast burritos are sooo good. If you've never been here, it's a small spot with a pretty decent size patio. I don't remember it being this big before, but now there's plenty of outdoor seating. I got the Super Breakfast Burrito with grilled chicken. It's loaded with hash browns, refried beans, cheese, two eggs, and all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla. I asked for side of the fresh pico de gallo and guacamole! That extra boost is what makes it the bomb. The burrito's packed and every bite gives you a little of everything. Their spicy salsa brings a nice little kick too. One of the things I've always liked about this place is how they grill the chicken right in front of you. You can actually see them working the grill, chopping it up fresh, and the smell is unreal. The service is always cool, really friendly. Came here while searching for a burrito spot. Thought to myself why I'd get a burrito from a place named super pollo, and went with the half chicken! I writing this 5 star review while standing waiting for my order because it smells like HEAVEN IN HERE! The chickens are cooking over the flame in the window and the smells are just incredible thru this small interior. The exterior patio is huge and I am excited to bring my family and stroller as it is very accessible. Now the food... I witnessed them ladle the lemon garlic butter over the platter chicken I am droooling! I got home and this chicken is for REAL! I utilized the tortillas and made 4 chicken tacos with the rice and beans and their spicy salsa and for $17 this was MONEYYY! I've come here a couple of times in the evening and it's never been too long of a wait - they have outdoor seating which is convenient. This place is nice not only for their meat options (I've tried the quesadilla and burrito) but also because they offer vegetarian options. I have a dear family member who is vegetarian so having that option is really nice, plus it tastes fantastic! Lots of good quality food for a reasonable price. Delicious and moist chicken! Drove by and decided to try it and it did not disappoint. Wow! Super Pollo made me fall in love with chicken again! During a recent Orange County visit, I found myself getting over a cold and needed some comfort food to take to my hotel room down the street. I stumbled into Super Pollo by chance, only after seeing their super cute outdoor seating area with umbrella covered tables, patio lighting, and lush green palms potted throughout the seating area. Even though I was eating in, I still love a little ambiance even if only while waiting for my food. The chicken is flame broiled while you wait, and comes with several flavor options; garlic butter and lemon, seasoned, and spicy. I chose the garlic butter and lemon, and let me just say that flavor combo packs a punch! The chicken was tender, juicy and flavorful, and requires a handful of napkins to maintain decorum. Super Pollo is a small, hole-in-the-wall restauraunt, and I could see it easily getting overlooked in favor of other more flashy Costa Mesa and Newport Beach options. But I was really impressed with the flavor and the exceptional value found here. Do me a favor and check this place out! The staff are friendly, the food is great, and they've got a really cute patio area to enjoy your food. There's no valet, or super convenient parking aside from a limited number of spots in front, but you'll figure something out. Been coming here for many years now and keep forgetting to leave a short review. The chicken is consistently moist, flavorful and fresh each time and we have had this at least a couple dozen times now over the years. The chicken has way more flavor than that El crazy chicken place. If you like garlic you will like this chicken. It is marinated and cooked with many different spices along with a good amount of garlic. They even have minced garlic to put on after it's cooked. They have the typical side of rice and beans with both kinds of tortillas. There's at least 2 types of salsa available. The place is a real hole in the wall and there is no seating inside but have a few tables outside for dining. They are open for breakfast as well. read more

This was honestly the worst service I've experienced. We arrived around 6:10 PM, and they were already out of fountain drinks and potato salad not great for a place that wasn't close to closing. When we paid, my boyfriend used cash and the cashier actually rolled her eyes and sighed, clearly annoyed we weren't paying by card. Super unprofessional. We waited about 25 minutes for our food, checked inside, and they were still making it. Ten minutes later they realized they had given our order to the wrong person. Instead of apologizing, they giggled like it was funny and still moved with zero urgency. After all that, the food was average at best no flavor, definitely not worth the 45-minute wait and they even gave us the wrong drink. Overall, terrible customer service and mediocre food. Returned to this awesome chicken restaurant after 10 years and it's still buttery and full of garlicky goodness as I remembered. The extra parking seem to have been converted to outdoor seating but other than that...the owners are still working there and the food is still yummy and quite affordable for the Costa Mesa area. Hade the taco which was huge! Very filling and delicious! Took my son the other day and we got the taquitos combo plate. He's a bit picky but he absolutely loved the combo plate. Said he wants to go back real soon. Hard to find authentic beans and rice like our Tia's make. The taquitos were filled just right. 4 to a plate for me so I had 2 left over, very filling. I called in an order for half a chicken and went to pick it up when I got it back home, I noticed that the chicken was super dry as if it had been under a warming tray for quite some time. This time we couldn't even taste ANY seasoning. We were again so disappointed. One of my absolute favorite chicken burrito places! The chicken is well flavored and the sauces are amazing! I usually ask for a grilled jalapeño on the side too. Which just adds to the flavor. Parking is extremely limited and the staff is somewhat friendly. You get 1 sauce for 1 order and if you ask for more they will give you a look and then give you another sauce. This is definitely a hole in the wall that you don't want to drive passed. This is near a bunch of other good restaurants in Costa Mesa. We went towards 7-8 PM, which was a little past the dinner crowd. They cook the chicken fresh, which takes about 20-25 minutes to cook but luckily we were able to walk to Hennessy's for a quick drink. It was just enough time to return back for the food, and the food was so rash and just a great treat to have the end of a busy day. The chicken was freshly cooked w lots of love and flame broiled. That was anticipated to be the star dish, and definitely met my expectations. I also appreciate that the flautas were fried but not super oily, and the sauces came on the side so it was not soggy. I grew up in Costa Mesa, I must have put 5,000 miles on my bike as a kid going all over the place to eat and enjoy the surrounding area. 17th street IS a food wonderland. From Catalina Fish Kitchen to La Cave with a little Pan Asia and EZ take out in the middle. The new places are great too, but when you are coming home from the dog beach and you want to keep it clean, a fish burrito or chicken burrito from Super Pollo is not going to disappoint. My wife had chicken and I had fish, the fish burrito is pretty nice with avocado and cabbage- really done right!
