On Jan 14, 2026 I had an extremely unpleasant experience the CF Richmond Centre store in BC. I bought 2 Oral B io series toothbrushes that were on sale, paid by debit card but almost immediately, realized that I should have paid for the toothbrushes by credit card. So I went to the back of the line and when I came up to the cashier, I asked that the purchase of the 2 toothbrushes be reversed so that I could pay for them by credit card. When I explained that I had made a mistake and wanted to pay by credit card instead of debit, the cashier first told me that I would lose all Optimum points associated with the initial purchase even if I were to buy back the same items immediately. She strongly discouraged me from changing mode of payment. She highlighted the points on the receipt to emphasize that those points were a "one time only" reward and would all be lost even if I were to buy the same items again. Then when she rung up the items for a second time, she stamped "Final Sale" on the receipt. I'm at a loss to understand her actions: Why would the same items paid for by credit suddenly become a final sale. I find it to be incredibly sharp practice for your cashier to take unfair advantage of a customer's mistake particularly when the mistake was discovered almost immediately. All these transactions occurred in under 6 minutes.

The store is pretty clean and organized, and there's decent parking in the plaza. But... is it just me or does it always feel like the staff are "lowkey" following me around the store? It's not super obvious, but enough to make me feel a bit watched while I'm browsing. I get that security is important, but it can make the shopping experience feel a little uncomfortable. Other than that, service at the checkout is usually quick, and I've had a few helpful interactions at the electronics and photo counters in the past. Still debating if I'll keep shopping here regularly or just order online when I can.

Many people I know love London Drugs (the chain, in general), and they all adore this particular…read morestore: it's large, clean, well-organized, well-stocked, well-lit and easy to navigate. So if you like LD stores in general, no doubt you will really really like this specific store. And I admit, there are other advantages to this site. This store is located in the Ironwood Plaza, which is a swell outdoor mall, with some really cool shops surrounding it. You could do all your errands here without leaving the mall (there's a huge Save-on Foods grocery store, A phenomenal BC Liquor store, a huge Canadian Tire across the lot, and lots of cute restaurants, and some medical clinics, etc.). The parking lot is huge, too, and free, so there's never a problem driving here. For me, though, I'm not a fan of the London Drug chain. I find their prices higher than any other store selling the same merchandise (and that says a lot, as Vancouver prices are crazy high, compared to every other city I've lived in). And to me, price points rank up there in how I rate stores. And in this particular store, the other day when my kid ad I visited, we walked up and down the aisles looking for some specific items, and there were no employees on the floor to ask for help (if there were, they were in hiding). We went to the cashiers to ask for help and the few that were there were busy ringing up customers and they didn't look up at us as we stood by for a few minutes. It was not good. After spending about ten minutes in the store wandering, we left without buying what we came in to get. Another disadvantage lies in the logistics of leaving this parking lot. There are no traffic lights if you're exiting on Road 5 (by the Starbucks), or at some other exit points. And if you're clueless like I was when I first visited this mall, on a weekday at 3pm, know that you will NEVER ever leave this lot and you will grow old and die in your car waiting to get out of the Ironwood lot. No exaggeration. (Note: only visit on a weekend or super early or super late on a weekday. Or else!). On a side note, I WILL add that I DO like LD for photo development. I always order my prints online and pick them up in their photo departments. They are great for that!

Yup!

There are only 2 reasons that I keep going to this grocery store: 1. the cheap chicken 2. the convenience, since its near our place. The staff at Super Grocer are the rudest most sour faced group of people I have ever seen in any retail facility. This grocery store is lucky that another more competent produce and grocery provider has not moved into steveston yet. During my last visit there I was paying at the till and made the mistake of putting my hand on the grocery bag before the visa transaction went through. I was rudely advised by the cashier, who obviously has no people skills, to "PAY FIRST BEFORE YOU TOUCH GROCERY BAG"! What an insult to a customer that has dropped a lot money in that place during the past years. Why would I go back to a place that implies that im on the verge of stealing? During another visit I was looking at a potted plant and did not realize that it was almost closing time. The rude flower manager pushed the whole mobile shelving unit while I was standing inches in front of it, in full view of her, and started packing it away without any care that I might want to buy the plant or that the whole unit might run over my foot. What a rude condascending person she was. These are only 2 of many examples. Its like a running joke with our neighbours about how you get treated like crap in that place yet people continue to go there mainly because of the location. Also if you buy any canned or jarred items make sure to check the expiry date. Ive been burned several times by buying items that were days away from expiration. I give up. The lure of the cheap meat prices will not be enough to bring me back to this sad place. I will get my produce from the little family run place on the corner of 1 and Moncton and I will pay a little extra and get my meat from either safeway or Harringers. I pray that Kins moves into the neighbourhood in order to knock the arrogant super grocer people down a few pegs on their ladder of arrogance. read more

As a local, I always try to support the small businesses in my neighborhood. After 8 years, I am giving up on this place - every time I leave, I become increasingly more infuriated with the lack of customer service and basic human courtesy. Went there first thing in the morning at the website posted opening hours to drop off an item to the postal office. One other customer in the store who also happened to be waiting for the office. As an employee walked quickly by the two of us, the customer asked if he could get some help. "Still closed" was the answer given over her shoulder while walking away. I found another employee leaning against a rack to ask for clarification. His response? "It's closed". Keep into mind, he watched the previous interaction in it's entirety AND we were the only two customers in the store. Me: I know it's closed, thank you - the other employee told me that already. Can you tell me when it will open? Him:"9:30" while starting to move away. Me: can you tell me when it will be open until? Him: "until it's closed" Me: you know what my next question is going to be right? Him: "what?" Me: what time are you closed? Him: "go look on the door for the hours" Me: thanks, but are you not able to just tell me that? Him: "go look outside" Unbelievable. - On my way out, I glance at the door..... no posted hours. WTF. Neither one of the employees could bother taking one extra second to find out the operating hours or to simply say 'sorry, I don't know?' It doesn't take much to be courteous but it feels like they go out of their way to find new and creative ways to be rude. Well, I will now go out of my way to permanently avoid this place. Plenty of other options in the neighborhood. read more

GREAT STORE! Steveston looks to be in turmoil. Is it growing too rapidly or do they want to keep it snapshot in time? Flanked by condos and developent, there are only a handful of older buildings left that have that distincitve character. They shoot tv and movies there a lot in one small street. WTH is is with the traffic scramble? BIG CITIES have them, and there is like a 2 in all of Canada. And 1 happens to be in little Steveston - WTH! Super Grocer is a small, very independant family owned store. It tries to do many things - Chinese takeout, post office, flowers, dvd rental (anyone still use dat???) pharmacy, produce, meats, asian snacks...WOW. It's a Glorious Mess in there...but fun to shop and prices are always fantastic. Yes service is inconsistent, but running an operation like that is tough and its family run. If you don't like it, there's a multitude of big box outside this little community. GO THERE! read more

I know during the pandemic we can start to panic and be very frightened. We have to rely on others to deliver or stores to stay open with different hours and the lack of staff to help. When I see people at 7:00pm banging pots and pans for the front line workers it makes me feel my faith in humanity. When I see or hear of someone not caring or trying to make a profit i feel sad and angry. Best place to shop. Fills the tummy with the least money. The selection is fantastic and the so is the price. Have to drive all the way from NV, but well worth it. Pharmacy gives you this review of your medications and never had one elsewhere. The Meat is just great - better prices than the big warehouse store. Flowers can only come from this place.
