Upon walking through each section, you'll be amazed by the large variety of international products. Yes, mostly Asian ones, but tucked in between is many Spanish or Indian products. The staff may not seem the warmest or friendliest, yet they are very helpful and kind. You ask with such lovely review of mine why only four stars? Simply and only because the isles are often crowded with unpacked boxes. The carts are placed else where and in the way.

They have a large selection of my favorite greens, well stocked. Staff are friendly, and the cooked food varies by day. Any cons ? Sometimes I do find that the staff in the aisles section, are not knowledgeable about where to find certain goods on the shelves, or knowing why perhaps a certain item is not in stock at that time. But overall, we love this store. It is also a cheerful, pleasant, clean and well-ventilated space to shop in. I always feel happy here. May this store thrive!

The Maxi & Cie store is in Pointe-Claire horrendously run. I cite two recent experiences:…read more 1. I bought a PCMobile Prepaid mobile SIM card at this store. This is a private label SIM card sold by the company that runs Maxi. The service was a complete rip-off--as in outright fraud. It did not work. I was unable to log into any account to use the service. I could not download the managing app on my iPhone. I don't expect the regulators to do anything about this until they get publicly embarrasesed in the press. 2. Last week I bough a quart of Quelbon 1% milk that was curdled by the expiry date. For $2.08 it is not worth returning to the store to confront them, which may be why they sell expired dairy products. Bottom line: this store should be shut down.

Maxi has excellent prices for many items, including low prices for bulk items. Sometimes prices are better than Costco, and you don't have to buy a boatload's worth. They carry many President's Choice and No Name brand products, and have great sales every week. My favourite new discovery is Joe Fresh, their line of affordable clothing and accessories. I have spent a ridiculous amount of money at Joe Fresh on cute kids' shoes, winter pyjamas, jeans, tees, and blankets, as well as several items for me. Along with the quality of items, the best thing about the clothing - and other household or pharmacy goods -- is the convenience: I can pick up these items at the same time that I do my grocery shopping, and not have to make another trip to the store or mall. For a busy mom of two youngsters, that alone makes shopping here worth it.

I also love how they have all my favorite asian noodles here. The parking outside is fine, as long as you don't go on a busy day, which we learned to avoid. I honestly have almost no complaints about this place, we've been going here for over 20 years. I've always felt that everyone's lives would become better if they shopped here, It's nearly perfect... I have all but only one issue with this place, and it's a major one. The male employees have a starring problem. I don't dress myself in a way that would normally attract male attention. I don't wear tight or low cut shirts, or tight pants that show off my ass and thighs, or wear makeup whenever I've been here. If anything, I look very young, espeacially since I'm with my dad when I go, and the treatment I get each time I come here is just very disturbing. I'm so uncomfortable, I no longer will accompany my dad when he comes here, so I'm really happy Samy Fruits opened up near by. Yes, it's fine to make eye contact with customers, but at least say hello. Don't just stare silently like some creepy pervert! And the way they stare too is just very wierd. It's like they're undressing me with their eyes, like they're sexually excited to see me. I don't think it's because I'm attractive at all. I get the impression it's because they're not use to seeing females that are not covered. I don't like the silent harassment I receive there. I feel as if I have to avoid eye contact with all the arab men, and just stare at the ground. I never feel good when I go there. I wouldn't shed a tear if this place burned down. I've been to other middle eastern grocery stores before, none of their middle eastern male workers behave this way. I feel like I'm in the ghetto everytime I go, so I'm very happy my dad finally took them out of our usual routine. Sometimes I see non middle eastern employees there, who act normally and just do their job. Even the middle eastern females are polite. White, black, yellow guys.. all normal, but for some reason, all of their middle eastern employees are freaks. I don't know why they never got use to seeing women uncovered. How long is this going to take them? Because I think they should feel very lucky that I'm not a serial killer lol.
