Deli is awesome. Grilled burritos and a taco bar. Some of the better food in town and the guys that work there are super cool.

Prices very and quality too. I do like the live tanks and it's one of the few places in town you can buy odd ball meats/ seafood.

Only place in town that carries my favorite ice cream! Also it's been with us forever! So glad it still exists.

The cost if living here in Juneau is apparently much higher than California. The apparent positive side is that there is no state tax and residents get an annual state refund. A small bottle of tide liquid detergent was $10.59 and it's $5.69 at home. My deodorant which is $3.29 at home is $7.19 here in Juneau. A Harley Davidson T-shirt which is $29-$36 at home at the Harley Store is $53-$55 here in Juneau. What a beautiful place to visit. Highly recommended.

We stopped by Foodland in Juneau hoping to find a few ingredients to spice things up -- specifically Thai chili peppers -- and to our surprise, they had them! Foodland was impressively well-stocked with a wide selection of international and hard-to-find ingredients. We were genuinely surprised by some of the specialty items available -- things we didn't expect to find in Alaska at all. The store was clean, organized, and easy to navigate, which made the shopping experience quick and enjoyable. If you're docked nearby or preparing for a longer trip, this is definitely a spot worth checking out. Whether you're craving comfort food or need to grab a few essentials, Foodland has you covered. Drop by and grab those much-needed items -- you might find more than you were expecting!

They also have a…read moreseparate section that sells clothing and small appliances, so it's like a supermarket and department store all in one. There's a massive parking lot with plenty of spots, a full-service pharmacy, and an on-site fuel center too. Since this chain is owned by the same one that runs Kroger and Smith's I was excited that I could earn rewards points with my purchase! The store has a big deli and bakery with fresh items, and has all sorts of local and national brands. The prices are on the high side (this is Alaska, after all), but they carry just about everything you could ever need or want. There's even a small section that sells generic Alaska souvenirs if you need to pick up something for the folks back home.

This longstanding retail…read morechain is a one-stop shop for everything you might need, from groceries and fresh produce to apparel, furniture, electronics, housewares, and more. Walking into the store, I immediately noticed the clean, well-organized layout, making it easy to navigate through the different sections. The selection is impressive, offering a variety of styles and options, whether you're shopping for clothing, home essentials, or fresh vegetables and meats. One of the biggest conveniences is the ample parking space, so you never have to worry about finding a spot, even during peak hours. Inside, the store also features a pharmacy, appliances, electronics, and plenty of other interesting finds, making it a great place to explore if you're looking for everyday essentials or even a few unexpected deals. While the store itself was clean, well-maintained, and had great promotions, the customer service was unfortunately not up to par. What really stood out was my experience at self-checkout. I expected a quick and smooth process, but the cashier assisting at self-checkout seemed unprepared and overwhelmed. When I asked for help scanning the barcode for my loyalty discount on the app, she didn't seem to know how to find it. Instead of trying to figure it out or asking another employee for assistance, she appeared stressed, nervous, and ultimately didn't make an effort to resolve the issue. She also seemed distracted and wasn't fully listening to my questions, which was quite disappointing. A little more attentiveness and willingness to help would have made a huge difference in the overall experience. Sign Up for Membership. Despite the customer service hiccup, the store does offer great promotions and discounts, but to take advantage of them, you should sign up for the free membership. It's fast and easy to do online by simply downloading the store's app. This will give you access to special deals, reward points, and additional savings at checkout. This store has a lot of potential, with its wide selection, fresh produce, and clean, organized layout. However, they could improve their customer service training, especially at self-checkout, to ensure a smoother experience for shoppers. Would I come back? Yes, for the convenience and selection. But I'd be prepared to navigate checkout on my own if needed.

The ingredients all taste good and fresh. I end up getting it all- eggs, cheese, potatoes, bacon, jasmine rice, black beans, lettuce, pico de gallo, all the good stuff. They even have fancy eggs and fancy potatoes (made with peppers). Everything is prepared next to the register behind glass, so you can watch them prepare it. I love coming here or the valley Breeze-In for their soups as well. The chicken tortilla is my favorite by far. The donuts are pretty good too, and I hear so are the bagels. There is also a frozen coffee machine with different syrup flavors, it tastes like a Frappuccino and it is not overly sweet like I assumed it would be. I also tried the breakfast crunch wrap but personally I wasn't a big fan. It was okay, but the ingredients were clumped in one spot and the nacho cheese made it sticky, texture-wise. I definitely prefer the burrito. I come here with my coworker about once a week, and the staff is nice and generally patient with everyone. One time we asked what the lunch special was and it was halibut tacos that were absolutely delicious. But they only do lunch in the late morning-afternoon. They stop breakfast around 10:30AMish. I have tried the California steak burrito for lunch, but was not a fan. The steak was dry and tough. If you go, stick to the breakfast!

Tucked away amongst the trees, this place felt like it was a true representation of an Alaskan convenience store. The dudes working in there had huge beards and were burly, they looked exactly like what you'd think Alaskan mountain men would look like, which was pretty cool. They were friendly but a little intimidating! The inside of this store is old and rundown, with inventory boxes lying about and stuff crammed everywhere! Flyers about local events, fundraisers, and hunting and fishing restrictions were plastered all over the front windows. The prices, as you'd expect due to the remote location, are very high. I can't remember what I paid for a soda, but it was a lot. It was cold and didn't have an expired "use by" date, so I consider that a win. The place felt a little sketchy, and I would avoid it at nighttime or maybe if you are a female traveling alone. I didn't feel unsafe, but it made me a little uneasy shopping here based on the clientele hanging around outside. I know that sounds snobby, but I'm just trying to be honest. Duck Creek Market isn't fancy, but it's sort of a place I'd recommend if you want to soak up some truly local culture. Stopping is is an adventure in itself!
