While it was summer in Alaskan and still a little chilly, we were both pretty warm from a strenuous hike. Not knowing the city well, we were away from the tourist crowd. But I saw this place was open, so we walked in and started talking to Izzy, the shop owner. As the menu is quite large, we chatted her up while pondering our choices. Eventually, I chose a Hazelnut Fudge Swirl milkshake while my wife ordered the Vanilla Peanut Butter Swirl milkshake (go big or go home!). As Izzy was the only one working at the moment, she made our drinks one by one. But we weren't in a hurry, so we asked her questions about the shop and life in Juneau. She gave us some additional tips for this trip. The drinks were so good! Izzy made them very thick, and the ice cream was delicious! If it wasn't for our limited port time, we would have come back later in the evening for a 2nd round. With other customers coming in, we sat inside and read while drinking our milkshakes. If I was a local, this would be my (non-alcoholic) hangout. Hopefully in a future Alaskan trip, I'll come in again and enjoy more sweet treats!

Inside is very clean and has the menu right next to the register. There are seats with tables and a nice, quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The man behind the register was very patient with my partner and I as we read the menu and decided on what to order. I chose the honeydew with mochi and he chose blueberry with the tapioca balls. The drinks were delicious and the bubbles were also so good. Much better than most of the chain bubble tea/boba places I've tried elsewhere. Bonus, the lids had super cute faces on them. My only thing was that the mochi was slightly too big for the straw, I had to finish my drink then eat the mochi after. But they also tasted delicious so it wasn't a big deal. I will definitely come back, this is my new favorite bubble tea place! I'll also try some of the other teas next time.

Some of the packages had frost inside them, indicating that they were not sealed properly or were old. The fish itself was thin & loaded with pin bones that I removed by hand. There was a fishy smell and no smokiness. There was no brininess. After a single bite, I discarded the entire batch, contacted Alaska Seafood Company and they sent me a second batch which was slightly better than the first; "D" instead of "F" but still unacceptable. Weird color, thin, dry, smelly, bony, no smokiness, no brininess. I ended up junking everything after another single bite. I contacted the company again, this time recommending -- as politely as I could -- that they relearn the smoked salmon process,, but never heard back. (I had a local teacher in mind but they seemed disinterested.) These two batches were the worst smoked salmon -- by far -- that I've ever had.
