I registered my child for swim lessons with them when I received a coupon. Well, I now understand…read morewhy they need to lure people in with coupons. The level of incompetence at this particular swim school is astounding. On what would have been our first lesson, I received a call asking whether we could come in early as they had some openings. I said absolutely, packed up my toddler, loaded in to the car and headed off. As I'm pulling in to the parking lot 10 minutes later, I receive another phone call stating that due to the weather they cannot conduct the earlier lesson (it is now disclosed that the pool is outdoors). And informing me that my originally scheduled lesson cannot be canceled yet as they don't do weather cancellations more than 30 minutes prior to a lesson. At this point I requested to cancel the $340 lessons and requested a refund as we hadn't yet begun. This is where the true frustration began. Initially they advised that the refund would be processed immediately. 5 weeks later, still not having been received, I contacted my bank who confirmed no refunds had been received and then reached out to the swim academy and asked whether an issue had occurred. They immediately emailed me an account summary stating a refund had been sent. Another week goes by, and no refund. So I email again indicating that the refund hadn't been received. I receive a response telling me refunds may take 4-5 business days. Well, as it's been roughly 30 business days, I'd say we're well past that. So I respond indicating that the refund was supposedly processed 6 weeks ago, TO WHICH THEY RESPOND " Great! Glad to hear the refund went through!" This is why children should not run your business (there may be an adult somewhere in the building but unfortunately they were never bothered with or informed of my issue).

Since then our little one begs us to go to swim class just about everyday and is now a very good swimmer. First I signed for a Private Lesson and he videotaped me while swimming to show areas where I can improve. Then he showed me techniques to have a more fluid movement to help me become a more efficient swimmer. I thought it was very valuable. I also joined his TriSwim team in Davie where I swim together with a team of triathletes looking to improve their swim skills. He provides challenging workouts to help improve freestyle swimming and overall performance. This is different from a masters swim groups since it focuses on triathlete skills. Last weekend I joined the Open Water class in Fort Lauderdale beach. Gary and his team provided specific tips for open water triathlon swimming, from sighting to turning, very useful. I strongly recommend Gary for any triathlete that is looking to improve his swimming skills, as he is very knowledgeable and passionate about this field.

Good afternoon, I…read morewas a member of Midtown Athletic Club in for three months in the summer of 2019 and I spent nearly every other day at the facility. Not only are the grounds well maintained, the view of the nearby lake is stunning (particularly from the portico), the equipment is first-rate, and the health instructors are passionate about their craft. I was able to take part in a fitness challenge consisting of several CrossFit-like events (the Midtown Challenge) and I learned several fundamentals of Tennis during my time with the Club. Should I move back to the South Florida region I would not hesitate to re-initiate my membership as the first order of business. Thank you for reading and have a good day. I joined this club expecting a premium experience, especially at more than $300 per month…read more Unfortunately, my experience has been the opposite. The gym is consistently overcrowded, equipment is often unavailable, and parking can be extremely frustrating. For a club charging this much every month, I expected far better access, convenience, and overall value. One of the main reasons I joined was specifically to become part of a tennis community. Unfortunately, that has probably been the most disappointing part of my experience. The members running the so-called tennis groups have, in my experience, been unwelcoming and at times outright rude. Instead of feeling like a club that encourages members to connect, play, and build a community, the tennis side seems far more focused on lessons, coaching, and bringing in additional paying students. That was especially disappointing because at this price point, members should feel like they are actually part of a club -- not simply another source of revenue. At $300+ per month, I simply do not believe the experience justifies the cost. I have dealt with overcrowding, difficulty using equipment, parking issues, an unwelcoming tennis environment, and what feels like a constant emphasis on finding additional ways to charge members. I joined hoping to find a premium gym and a strong tennis community. Instead, I am leaving feeling that the club is far more focused on maximizing revenue than creating a positive experience for its members. I will be canceling my membership.
