So - when we showed up, our room was not reserved. Instead of having us wait a few minutes to properly clean a room, they gave us the only room they had available which was NOT CLEAN. There was spilled coffee on the counter, the towels were damp, and the entire room smelled of smoke. We got the room for $45 (a discount) - but it's not even worth that. In the morning - we went to cancel the following night's reservation because this place is unacceptable. She said she was "sorry" and that they had to charge us the full amount ($120!!!!) for the evening, even though because we already had the room reserved, even though I could actually see her going on the computer and making our reservation for that night as we spoke. I kindly asked her to "please work with us, and at least give us a discount because the rooms are horrible, and we won't be staying there." She argued with me, and still charged us $75. The money issue is fine - I would gladly pay $100 to NOT stay here - but I wasn't impressed by anything: the service, the rooms, the location, or the beetles everywhere.

It's off the beaten path from the small town of Ledbetter, but that makes for a quiet and private retreat. We booked the Lonesome Dove and Hidalgo rooms; rooms were clean - recently renovated with plenty of towels, blankets, pillows, and a space heater for those extra chilly nights. We had two rooms with two twin beds - beds were firm. Bedding was comfortable. Soaps and shampoo/conditioner was provided, but it's the kids kind, so if you like your fancy products, pack your own. Kiki and her family live on the 70-acre property; she is a friendly host and we felt welcomed during our stay. Upon arrival, she gave us a tour and even let us assist with feeding the animals the morning we left. She also gave me a cash refund because they had a special discount rate for the night and honored that for me - without me even asking about it. Real hospitality! There's a dance hall/dining hall where Kiki provides wine, coffee, tea and snacks. Our stay included a hot breakfast, and it was fantastic! Fresh biscuits, eggs, sausage gravy, sausage links (and of course, cereal for the kiddies). Onsite there's a lake, acres of exploring, campfire station, and animals: three horses, 2 lambs, and a miniature donkey - and don't forget about Elvis the ranch dog! Love that Kiki and her family are animal lovers. Keep in mind though, outside dogs from guests are not allowed because of the many farm animals. My girlfriends and I fully enjoyed our stay and want to return with a group to have a little ranch life fun. I highly rec this for small groups, retreats, families (kids will love) and even those looking for a space to host an event, like a quaint country wedding or family gathering.

We left before breakfast, but heated up some of our leftovers from dinner, in the dining hall, to eat on the road. The staff at the Stella was so kind and allowed us to use their speakeasy bar for the ceremony and it couldn't have been more perfect! Dawn was an incredible help and coordinated everything that morning. She also made sure people didn't walk in during the ceremony. Pam was just a blessing helping do everything at the last minute like setting up the Bluetooth music, pinning the boutonnière on the groom and even fixing peoples hair unprompted. She knew exactly what we needed even when we didn't. Truly exceptional! We also stayed at the hotel and had a problem-free time. We ate breakfast at the restaurant and it was good. They also have a beautiful waterfront to sit or play in front of. Highly recommend The Stella!

Rooms are spacious and large with a comfortable bed. The bathroom is large although I found the shower a bit odd as there is no floor spacing with the shower area as there is no separation from the drain. So if you shower, have the curtain up and hope that the water doesn't accumulate. The exercise room is pretty big with complimentary towels and water bottles although the exercise machines are right in front of the windows so the sun may shine on you as you're trying to attack the treadmill. The pool area is spacious with plenty of lounge seats. There's also cornhole in the massive yard next to the lobby; a nice touch. Parking is complimentary with valet parking available. There's a few shops/restaurants nearby that you can dine at if you don't want to venture further out in the Bryan/College Station area. I'd be open to staying here again as this was one of the more impressive Marriott properties I've encountered.

A good choice in Brenham…read more Displaced to Brenham because of the Hurricane Beryl power outage in Houston. Luckily we were able to make reservations at the Holiday Inn Express. By experience hotel services and quality are largely dependent upon the management. We found the facility to be clean, well maintained and, above all, superbly managed (Al Patel - GM onsite every day). The staff (Josh, Valerie*, Karla, Keith and John - front desk; and Esperanza* - breakfast attendant), were extremely professional, friendly and customer-oriented. It was a pleasure to stay there and we will do so again when in Brenham.
