They need to clean the rooms before people go in. Our room was disgustingly filthy. Hair all over floors dirt and hair on walls, show get hot and cold and ran all night. Toilet was sticky. Brown stuff on an open roll of toilet paper. Was advertised with a pool and jacuzzi and it was now a breakfast area. Dirty hallways, smell of human urine outside one of back doors. Well. Looks like you ended up in Sterling. You're off to a bad start. Just get coffee and keep going, if you stay here, understand it will be horrible. They don't have brooms or vacuum cleaners. The garbage cans are never emptied. There's no screens on the windows, some lamp shades are missing. There's stuff spilled on the carpet and it has never been cleaned. You're in for some grossness, You'll have a roof over your head and a mattress and warm running water in the shower. The towels suck, the pool is broken, the breakfast hall has never seen a mop or a broom, the curtains don't work. ... Basically you can sleep in your car, or give these guys $80 and think about sleeping in your car while you're in your room. read more

Managed (barely) to stay here for a week. I have not been able to get housekeeping to bring me clean towels, empty my trash, refill toilet paper or Kleenex, or vacuum the dead flies off my floor. I was promised that maintenance would come by and fill in the 1" gap around my air conditioning unit to help keep the flies out and that they would also fix or replace my broken chair at my desk. After 1 week and addressing these things multiple times with the front desk NOTHING has been done about any of these things. When mentioning this place to the locals they, without exception, roll their eyes, shake their heads and tell me that it is in fact notoriously terrible. I'm moving to a new hotel tomorrow. I give it an extra star because the coffee isn't too terrible and a few of the girls at the front desk are friendly and apologetic. read more

Would give zero stars if I could. First the keys didn't work so if we wanted to leave our room, front desk staff had to let us in. Then we get to our room and the door not only doesn't shut but also doesn't latch. We ask for a different room - because it's a sketchy lookin place. We open the door ... the front desk staff actually - opens the door to our "new" room (that said non smoking on the door) and it smells like wet dogs and musty old cigarettes. We ended up getting our money back and going next door. Save yourself an hour and book with comfort inn next door. read more

So if I could give this place no star I would! Just want to start by saying this place is INFESTED with BEDBUGS!!!!! They claimed to not know of this but in front they had new beds all wrapped up, as if they knew they had them, they were just letting people stay for their benefit$$. So they were obviously changing out the beds but if anyone knows about bed bugs it's not only the bed, you literally have to get rid of everything and by the way this place was cleaned up didn't look like they would take up any time to extra clean and make sure they don't have them anymore. I literally got to only sleep 2 hours for my 30hr drive thanks to them! I would never stay at another super 8 again! This place is trash! I've stayed at this location twice and all I can say are positive things. Once was three years ago with my husband and daughter. My husband is military so we travel a lot. Last month was with my daughter. I have nothing but positive things to say about the staff and the room. Very clean and a lot of rooms. A nice big parking lot and very open too. This location is not sketchy at all. Again I drove across country with just me (30) and my daughter (4). I recommend this location and I'd stay again. This place was very poor. They were not organized. They "deleted" my reservation to start off the problems. Then they finger pointed at different shifts for the error. They also bad mouthed Priceline and suggested I created the problem by booking with a third party. They refused to give me a room with 2 beds for a family of 4. So we all had one room with a king size bed. The shower had hot spots and would scold your skin for several seconds at a time sporadically during the shower. We had called and asked if they had a pool and made sure it was up and running before we made the reservations. When we arrived the heater was not even on the pool. The pool room was FREEZING and the water had scum floating all over in it. We asked daily when the pool would be ready to swim in. They told us they would call when it was ready. They never called and the pools condition never changed. The hallways smelled like a dog kennel. Seriously smelled like animals went to the bathroom all up and down the hallways. The breakfast area smelled like dead mice. This was horrible. I will never stay in a super 8 again. Zero customer Service. read more

My husband and I pulled off the highway in Stearling Colorado only to discover we were stranded with car problems. We decided to stay at the Super 8 motel because they have great rates and accept pets. Being it was the weekend no mechanics were available so my skilled Husband decided to order the part and do the work in the parking lot. Having to wait for the part for a couple days we came into contact with all the employees, which leads me to my excellent review! These employees know what customer service is! From housekeeping, front desk, all the way to maintenance we were treated with the utmost friendliness. We had no vehicle to drive and no vehicle services available, the woman at the front desk had her son pickup a part for us!!! That is not only customer service that's good people going above and beyond. Can't thank the staff enough! I highly recommend this Super 8, give it a stay! read more

For some reason, I rarely rate hotels. Perhaps I should do so more often. I don't often stay in Super 8 motels, but I was on my way back to MN after spending a week in the rocky mountains and made it as far as Sterling before deciding to call it quits. Having not made reservations, I checked several hotels before finding what seemed to be the only one with an open room. I won't hold it against them that the only room available was a smoking room, even though I have not the faintest clue why a hotel would even offer rooms in which smoking was allowed. What I will hold against them is pretty much everything else. If only I knew where to begin. Let's see... Perhaps with the gobs of dirt and hair which graced the baseboards in the room. Or perhaps the filth clinging to the windows, obscuring everything which would otherwise be visible. Or maybe the ceramic tiles in the shower which just so happened to be smeared with what I hope to god was mud. The "continental breakfast" featured one of the most meager assemblages of consumable items I've ever seen including (and limited to) crusty bagels, pre-packaged danishes, bruised apples, and stale cereal. Then, there was the wifi, which pulled in speeds far slower than the 3g connection on my phone. You'd be better off driving another couple hours in either direction than staying at this hole. I wish this was a dramatization. But mostly, I'm just glad I'm back home now. read more

Super 8 is actually upscale for me. This was terrific. Standard Super 8 amenities, standard prices for them. This is the "cheap chain" in town. Pleasant staff, pleasant room. No complaints other than a personal dislike for lack of elevators and only having interior hallways, but that too is standard for Super 8, so it was as expected. read more

This was easy to get to from the highway, that's the only positive I can think of. When we checked in, and when we checked out, I had to call someone on their personal cell number to let them know I needed help. The room was clean, but only the obvious things. There was a lot of grime and dust collecting in the corners and edges of the carpet and bathroom. The sink looked like someone had dumped dirty mop water in it but not rinsed it. There were ancient boogers wiped on the bathroom walls. Some of the baseboard carpeting was peeled back with staples hanging off and on the floor. We had some people come in late to the room above us. It took three different calls to the front desk over the course of an hour before it seemed like the stomping stopped, around 1am. We had to block off the space behind the beds so our cat couldn't get back there. Overall, it was not a place I would care to stay again. read more

First: COCKROACHES. I was there about 6 hours total and found three in my room, in the bathtub another on the bathroom floor, and one next to my foot as I was sitting on the floor unpacking (before I knew better) second: I booked a non smoking room, and got a smoking room. Normally not a big deal really because I can always open a window. At Super 8 in Sterling, this is not an option.... and third: ...why was airing out the room by opening windows not an option you ask? Because there are NO SCREENS. the whole place is ground level, with no screens. If you like mosquitos or enjoy being robbed/assaulted, it'd be great. I don't, however, like either of these.... So I had to marinate in stale cigarette stench all night. Have fun sleeping in that, especially during the hot summer months And I just want to add...the room cost 80.00, and was the most filthy lodging situation Ive ever had. I stayed in other hotels in the central states the two nights prior for 48.00 and 55.00, no comaints there, so can't blame the area or seasonal industry rate fluctuations. The staff is friendly, but the paper thin walls, complete disregard for reservation details (like wanting a non-smoking room), cockroach infestation and how unsafe the rooms are.... I'd give it -10 stars if that were an option. read more

After get stuck in a horrible snow storm, and having to be towed into this hotel lot, as a last resort I ended up decided to stay for the evening. After a horrible and long day I really wasn't expecting much out of this place because I assumed what I was signing up for- but my god was I pleasantly surprised. Luckily they had an ADA room for myself, and everything in there was perfect. There wasn't a golden tub, and the sheets weren't satin, but the room was nice and clean, and well decorated. The bed was very comfortable with the BEST squishy pillows. The bathroom was large and the shower had a great set up. With free WiFi and a quaint continental breakfast and every employee I ran into was very kind- I was so very pleased with my last minute decision to stay. With hotels in this price bracket bars and expectations are very low but I think this particular one made a great impression and made a crappy night much better for me. This hotel does not make a good first impression. It's on the "wrong side" of the I-76 interchange away from restaurants and facilities. It shares a parking lot with a failed hotel called Travelers Inn, which is overdue for demolition. The Super 8 itself looks a bit rundown. The pool is empty and the fitness room is closed. But the interior seems fresh. The front desk clerk was very pleasant. The breakfast area is large and comfortable. Our room was quiet. All in all, this hotel is a good value. read more

This place has gotten a bad rap. Sterling is between nowhere & somewhere so it's not exactly a "destination". If you're traveling through and need a place to shower & sleep this is perfectly adequate. The sheets were soft & clean, the breakfast was the usual waffles or cereal but it was quiet. All the woodwork is a little scuffed and there were some places in the hallways that could use some maintenance but if you're tired of driving & want to crash, you'll be fine here. read more

I then asked if the new room was clean and he said yes. We tore apart the new room looking for bugs and sure enough we found a bed bug fumigator can under the bed along with rodent feces. We stayed here was only 68 dollar not a bad price we were heading to the bronco game. We didn't see any bugs and I did check very good it was clean some things out dated but not dirty and still worked. The lighting on the outside of the building was awful however we couldnt even see where the turn was. I'd stay again. read more

Service was fine. Room was clean. The only things that were bad, were the shower and the hallway. The hallway smelled super weird, probably due to the age of the hotel. Also the shower water temperature would change from where ever I set it, to burning hot for a couple of seconds then it would go back to normal. read more

Nothing really good to say about this hotel. The pool was closed. Mold in the bathrooms. It was just over all dirty. They had garbage sitting by the ice machine that look like it was from breakfast. This was at 8 o'clock at night. It was still there in the morning when we checked out. Person working breakfast did not wear gloves. And the food was not good at all. We were just driving through and needed a place to stay. Wish we had more time to research. read more

If i could give it 0 stars i would . First of all i got a room with c.c to hold room at super 8 but got stuck at their NEWLY remodeled BUDGET INN facing the beautiful prison next door. NASTY is a nice word dirty is standard clean i guess . I called front office to be connected to the GM and told her the problem with our room . She had sent someone with another room key . We went to room just to see that someones drawers hanging on back of the door . I call the office again and the GM said she be right over .... Hour and half went by so i called her . Once again she said she would come over and refused to give refund even though we only were there long enough to drop off our things once again no show . I explained about c.c hold and she asked me who was working at night as if i knew . She said she couldnt do anything unless she could figure it out and speak with her. Once again she NEVER showed up. As the evening passed we just eventually laid down but woke up with bed bug bites . THE WORST EXPERIENCE AT A PLACE I HAVE EVER HAD . #Super8Hotel I WANT MY MONEY BACK. This hotel should be reported to the HEALTH DEPARTMENT! at least a dozen flies in our room! Fly paper hanging in office, ice bucket for scooping ice, covered with dirty hand prints, coffee maker in our room evidence our room was not properly cleaned, only camouflaged. There was a coffee bag in coffee maker. Went to use towel, had filth on it and creases from where someone used it & pillowcase, had eye makeup smudge, sheets DIRTY-I CAN GO ON. I complained to office, I had specifically asked for a handicap accessible room, w/2 beds and asked where the handicap space was. I ended up dead center in the hallway, with only 2 ways to room, both from the opposite ends and by the time I got my disabled dad into the room and his stuff & my stuff, i felt like I had run a marathon, then I started discovering the filth! I went to front desk to show her coffee maker contents and asked for a fly swatter and a discount on our room, She (Jackie) didn't even apologize, she just said give her $15 off the room, and tossed the fly swatter on the counter. Then I went back to the room and wanting to settle in and relax...but- that is when I found the dirty towels and sheets. I went back to the desk and REALLY expressed my dis-satisfaction,and on way by the laundry room there was a really sweet pregnant girl working in there, She gave me CLEAN sheets, and brand new towels and really felt bad things were so bad. I have been driving for days and just wanted to rest, and sleep and get an early start on the road in the morning, but here it is 11:30 at night and I am so wound up from all the running around and cleaning & bed making that I am just pissed. So pissed I wanted to make sure no one who read this review could possibly want to stay here. There are quite a few hotels in the area, all priced about the same. In the pouring down rain, I couldn't very well load my car back up and my handicapped Dad and go through the same thing all over again. If I would have access to the internet and seen the cockroach comment I wouldn't have even walked through the door.BTW- we are afraid to even think about eating the continental breakfast, for obvious reasons! Also, the rooms are old, dated, filthy carpets (don't take your shoes off) shower sooooo gross, I am going to consider standing in the rain tonight unloading my car, my shower, until I get back to New England tomorrow. read more

Pool was a joke, didn't bother to use it. Common areas were not air-conditioned, really sticky and humid. Everything else was perfectly fine for a 2-star motel/hotel. Decided to stay here after a 15-hour drive... didn't think it would be bad since I've stayed at Super 8 before with no problems. However this place is extremely different should have noticed from the beginning cracked glass and plexiglass holding doors barely open no locks on exterior doors anyone can walk in, flies in the lobby. And that's just the beginning. Upon entering the room we were surrounded by at least 15 flies. There were smashed flies on the walls how gross. The shower was inhabitable mold on the grout in between the tiles and under the disgusting slipmat they have in the tub. The pool look like a great cloud of God knows what, wouldn't even let a dog swim in it. I asked the lady at the front desk about the flies in the room her response was to give me a flyswatter I didn't know whether to laugh or be appalled. In conclusion I paid $99 to camp with flies indoors. I think I would have been better in the car. I should have read a Yelp review before entering this disgusting facility read more
