Disgusting. Filthy. Unfriendly. This place has nothing going for it. Oh and they don't have keys for the rooms.

It was so fun to be part of some history and a clear labor of love on the owners' part. We got to read about how Whistle Stop came to be and it was truly very special to be a part of. The details were impeccable, from the wallpaper and sconces to the antique decor. We loved the two person jacuzzi tub, it let us relax and stay warm on a very chilly night! I especially love that breakfast was delivered and we got to eat it on the original benches in the train car. This was a truly spectacular experience. I highly recommend it! The only piece of feedback I have is that the website should make it much more clear that the train whistles can be heard at all hours of the night. We're pretty deep sleepers and only woke up once, but they are LOUD and honestly, if you're a light sleeper, this is not the place for you. That being said, I looked into reviews ahead of time and knew to prepare for this, but the owners should do this as well.

I personally loved the proximity to an active train line and could hear the whistle blowing as the trains would pass from time to time. I intend to stay in some of the other cars in the future. Our stay was completed with a wonderful breakfast.

We stayed for four days and were so pleased with our Suite providing us excellent views, even in frozen winter. Chris was an excellent host making us the most delicious breakfasts every morning. This is an architecturally unique place with gorgeous views and all types of rooms to relax, filled with thoughtful amenities. We got to tour many of the rooms all with private baths and nicely well done. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite- a romantic suite equipped with a double Jacuzzi and a two-person shower. It's so convenient on the (frozen) waters edge walking distance to downtown and dozens of restaurants. We walked to many of the restaurants. Thank you Chris for helping to make our 'pearl' anniversary at the Red Bridge Inn in Parks Rapids so special.

Not sure how I haven't written a review of the red bridge inn…read more If you've stayed in park rapids hotels the choices are very limited. I'm here every few months. One of my coworkers stumbled on the red bridge (it's on the hiking trail system) and we have all made it our place to stay when in town for the last several years. Rooms are clean. I travel too much and that's important. Fairly good size. Well equipped with bathrooms etc. They are all different. It's a B&B with the hosts living off site which is not the norm. That makes it quiet!!! There are 7 rooms. The inn itself is on the river. Beautiful setting. Breakfast is what you want. I like a full breakfast. Bam. Friends like toast. What kind? I've seen folks get everything from 'just coffee' to a bowl of fruit or cereal. Just the way it should be Common areas are great. Large deck on the river. Large dining area- tables etc as well as a separate room with tables etc I suspect for meetings and groups. There's an area with couches and tv if that's your fancy. The deck is equipped with grills and a dock - it's on the river and they do rent boats. There's a hot tub. This is not a 5 star hotel. It is a clean well run place to stay wether on vacation or travel for work. 5 stars for me!!

We purchased 2 rooms, one a jacuzzi hot tub room, and one standard room on 6/14/24 - 6/16/24. Totaling about $1800, not including any food or drinks we purchased. The night we checked in seemed OK at first. As the night went on, it just started going downhill. First, they did not have the staff on duty to properly service guests. The staff that was on duty were not timely and very knowledgeable when asked questions about the property and area. The night we checked in, later, after we had settled in and around bedtime, I was preparing to take a jacuzzi, I had filled it up and had just sat down, and I looked back to put my arms up on the side and I found an unusually large amount of pubic hair and soap scum on the ledge of the hot tub (see pictures). I went to the front desk to tell them what I had found and the overnight staff told me that they could give me cleaner and some rags! To my dismay, I was completely disgusted and said I want to file a complaint and I would like a well as deserved to be given a discount of compensated a room and she told me that I would need to talk to the manager in the morning. I obviously returned in the morning and I was told by the manager on duty told me that the night staff offered to clean it and I refused! I replied "no such thing was offered and I was told that she would give me cleaner and rags and to clean it myself" (which of course I most certainly did) and that they could give me bonus points to use at another time! And the food! Terrible! Service! Inexcusable and extremely rude as I was called a B!*$h for asking why our food was taking an hour and 20 mins. I will NEVER EVER recommend this place nor will I EVER stay there! This is bad, bad custmer service, bad management, and plain disgusting. And I'm a Professional Chef who has served customers my entire life! The ONLY GOOD THING WAS THE VIEW!
