This year we stayed at LadySlipper Inn, and it was by far our favorite! The setting here is perfect - it's private and quiet. The Inn is on 2 spring-fed ponds with 2 rooms facing the pond and 2 rooms facing the morning sun. We stayed in the Tamarac Room which faces the pond (west). Because of Covid, breakfast was served in our room or on the deck. It was wonderful! We did have neighbors once, they were friendly, but private, which was exactly what we wanted. We spent a lot of time by the water - wading, paddle boating, kayaking, just walking around. . . We also had smores - which the owners provided the wood, lighting the fire, and the smore food and utensils. The owners are very nice, and have thought of just about everything. The main hallway even has lots of books available about the area, the wildlife, hiking, the state park - it was awesome. Even though I like to try out different locations, we will likely be back. It was just so relaxing! If you need to get away - this is the place.

It was so fun to be part of some history and a clear labor of love on the owners' part. We got to read about how Whistle Stop came to be and it was truly very special to be a part of. The details were impeccable, from the wallpaper and sconces to the antique decor. We loved the two person jacuzzi tub, it let us relax and stay warm on a very chilly night! I especially love that breakfast was delivered and we got to eat it on the original benches in the train car. This was a truly spectacular experience. I highly recommend it! The only piece of feedback I have is that the website should make it much more clear that the train whistles can be heard at all hours of the night. We're pretty deep sleepers and only woke up once, but they are LOUD and honestly, if you're a light sleeper, this is not the place for you. That being said, I looked into reviews ahead of time and knew to prepare for this, but the owners should do this as well.

Every morning we were served a delicious, filling breakfast that saw us through to dinner (nice money saver there). The host couple is wonderfully hospitable, welcoming, and charming. The house is a beautiful and spotlessly clean farmhouse with everything you could need. There are three guest rooms in the main house and one other couple was staying there when we were. We didn't hear a peep from them other than on the stairs, so there was very nice privacy. The Haven Room has one of the best showers I've had in a long time! Most importantly, the breakfast was over-the-top wonderful. Great conversation and delicious food, graciously accommodating one vegetarian and three meat-eaters! The hosts also gave great recommendations for hanging out in nearby towns, and the drive to several nice restaurants was pleasant and only 10 min away or so. We certainly hope to come back and heartily recommend this B and B!

We stayed here for 4 nights, Sun-Thur. There are 4 rooms on the 3rd floor, suite4 is the hot tub…read moreroom. The rooms are nice, there is a gas burning fireplace, and a wall mounted ac unit. Using each can be complicated. There is a tv but it need updates to a flatscreen. You get a$10 voucher to use at any of the 3 places on property. Only thing is on 2 days a week you are limited to the bar to use it at. It is next to the train tracks, 2 night a train went by but it was not too late (10PM) and once in the morning around 7:30. The noise for the bar (1st floor) only came up to the room 1 time for about 20-30 min around 9PM. Out side the rooms is a cooking area.
