We stayed here for fun a couple times. Decent rooms. The gym was closed and looks like a storage area at the moment. The motel room's were surprisingly quite for being next to the freeway. Heads up to anyone planning on staying at super 8 in Pendleton. The rooms are dirty and the beds smell like pee. We had to be moved rooms not once, not twice but THREE times. And the final room had blood on the bed. Can't even ask for a refund because they immediately deny you a refund and tell you that you're wrong even with proof. So I'm coming here to warn you. The room with the jetted hot tub had two key cards from previous customers that were left behind and the jets in the tub didn't work at all. Scum was growing in the tub too. Bed smelled like pee. The second room had miscellaneous garbage from the guests before. Bed smelled like pee. The third room had more garbage from guests before us and the bed still smelled like pee once again. We were super nice the entire time and very understanding about everything. But being moved 3 times with no change was enough for us. I don't understand how these dumbs are charging $120 a night! In major need of updating and deep cleaning. The walls are dirty with use. Bathroom fixtures and tub have grime that house keeping obviously ignores. Laundry is folded in the lobby all over the breakfast tables during check in. Such a weird check in experience. The room we were in had an exterior door which made it a very loud room. I asked to switch for the second night and was told to wait an hour after house cleaning was complete. I read the reviews on Yelp but we had to stay here because every other hotel in town was booked. Let me tell you, I was afraid, very afraid. But it wasn't a horror show, it wasn't great, but no excrement on the toilet or carpet that was black with dirt, or dirty sheets, or exceptionally rude staff or double charges. The room was "pretty clean", there was a good 2 weeks worth of dust on the tv cabinet and my friend found a hair in the bed, she wasn't looking for it, it just itched her arm and she found that it was a long blond hair. I only gave it 2 stars because the staff was poorly trained, she had a terrible time with the keys, ours and another guest that was present, and a few other things she did, but that still isn't why I'm only giving this 2 stars. Its the management. Every single issue that this hotel has boils down to very bad management. From the cleaning to the poorly trained staff. Hotel maids come and go, but what remains are hotel protocols and how long staff have to clean each room. If each room isnt allowed enough time to clean properly it won't get cleaned properly no matter the staff. Also training. The receptionist was very friendly, but obviously poorly trained which shows lazy management that doesn't take the time to train properly. These were the two issues that I witnessed at this hotel, but every review I've read on Yelp refers to a problem that is solved by management replacement. read more

Disgusting upon arrival. If we didn't have a non-refundable room we would have immediately left. The stairs too our room were full of crumbs and caked on dirt. So nasty. The room had stains all over the chair, the shower curtain, and the carpet. The window literally had caked on smudges. The pool was full of mold in all the window sills. The best part was the pool was warm and the hot tub was at a steamy 102! But then coming down for breakfast was a joke... they have plain oatmeal and can't even provide sugar. And how hard is to provide even just some toast (bread is so cheap). Anyways we will never again stop there for the high price. Totally not worth it. We even booked 3rd party for a deal and it was still not worth it. Should be $80 a night for what is provided there. DONT DO IT! read more

It's a hotel! And there is a nice pool! Plus, the free breakfast includes a waffle maker and batter so you can make delicious food! I would recommend staying at the Super 8 as it is conveniently located off of I-84 and it is a fair price. The staff is very kind and attentive when you need support. This is the WORST hotel experience. We needed a hotel to literally sleep at, for a quick overnight stay. When we arrived, we were greeted by than a less than friendly employee. We provided our information and were give a key to a room. The stairs leading to the second floor were disgusting. It was clear they had not cleaned in quite some time. We were already late for dinner, so we were going to drop off items and leave. Thank goodness we paid attention... The bed was made, but there was dirty laundry all over the bathroom and garbage filling every can. As we were discussing it the employee met us at the top of the stairs to inform us, that she made a mistake and that it wasn't "your fault". She didn't apologize, but blamed housekeeping for their lack of performance. We were given another room key. We went to this room to find the key didn't work and it appeared to be occupied. We actually knocked, but no once came to the door... however we could hear noise from inside. We went back down stairs and the employee was clearly annoyed with us and told me that they key works. I finally asked for our money back, which I was told no and she was extremely rude and not customer service oriented at all. After several back and forths, she agreed to give us our money back. This was Saturday. Today is Monday and I currently have 2 charges, one from Priceline where we booked and one from Super 8.... With NO refund. I called today and asked to speak with a Manager. The gentleman on the phone was curt but agreed to have a manager call me. I am not holding my breath. I would also like to add that the employee was so upset with us she took her mask off... Which I'm not overly offended by, but I assure you many would be. So, if you've made it this far.... DON'T stay. It is less than a 2-star hotel. We loved our stay here. You can get more for the prize. We were there for a ski trip (to Anthony Lakes), and it was very convenient. Having breakfast included was a plus --although it wasn't great (you can expect more for the price, but be aware!). The kids LOVED the pool, and they have a nice size hot tub for the adults. We even forgot my daughter's stuff animal at the room, and they sent it to Portland. The staff was friendly. We will be back! read more

We booked a suite room through hotels.com. We were given a suite room (which was a weird set up and the chairs were stained) but the tv in the bedroom was broke. They moved us to a non-suite room. The bed wasn't made and dirty sheets were piled in the corner. We had to go back to the front desk to get towels and sheets then had to make the bed ourselves. It was gross. This has got to be the nastiest hotel we've ever stayed in. We found food crumbs towards the end of our bed with our feet! Gross! Our tv remote and side table was sticky with who knows what! and we are pretty certain that someone got sick on the carpet near the bed recently as the smell was nearly unbearable. (The room is nasty anyway so it may just be how it smells) The room keys never work, we had to exchange them several times in 2 days. The pool area is questionable...it has a yellow colored film covering the top and the bottom of the pool has what looks like moss growing on it...not very inviting (I've attached a few photos) The sauna is hot but the jets don't work properly. But again, it's also nasty. You'd be better off just avoiding this place all together. The "Free Breakfast" is a joke. And forget about a nice hot coffee! The coffee is cold! It's a waste really...Overall bad experience. This place needs some serious updates and an entirely new (competent) staff. read more

I stayed in this hotel for a work trip. Upon check in, I felt that the front desk employee was extremely friendly and nice. She even assisted me in taking my things to my room. I think she did a good job. I was a bit bummed, because I had a ton of stuff with me, and the hotel had no elevator. We had to drag all of my luggage up the stairs to my room. When I got to the room, it looked better than I expected. It was decorated nicely. However, there were some things that I could not get past. The mattress was comfortable, but the pillows were not. I tossed and turned all night long, trying to make the pillows comfortable. When showering, I noticed a pink mildew buildup on the shower head. It was pretty caked on. I also noticed a buildup of mold or something similar under the granite ledge in the sink. It just didn't seem very clean to me. The bathroom only had 1 shampoo and 2 soaps. The shower curtain had no liner, so it was weird when taking a shower to just have the cloth curtain. I don't know if this was on purpose, or if this was an oversight by housekeeping. The perk of the hotel was the indoor pool and spa. My coworker and I went for a swim and a soak in the spa, which was relaxing after a long drive. In the morning, the continental breakfast was sub par. There was not protein, with the exception of yogurt. It was not very impressive. All in all, it seems like this hotel is being managed as cheaply as possible. The quality of the doors, and sheets, etc. seemed to be very cheap. Unless I have no other options, I would not stay here again. read more

Hey, this isn't a 5-star hotel so I expect it to be a little rough around the edges. I do expect it to be clean... which it was for the most part. Kudos to the staff who accommodated a large and complex reservation (I coordinated 7 rooms for a group coming in on motorcycles). Everything was smooth on arrival, checkin and checkout. I didn't partake in the "breakfast" but from what I could see it was super basic. Good news, there are plenty of fast food options nearby. McD's, Subway, DQ to name a few. My room was clean, except for the towel I used and found someone else's hair entangled within. I think it had been washed but for whatever reason the hair was embedded in the little fibers of the towel. The toilet seemed to only actually flush all the way with every-other flush (even when it was just water in there). The pool/hot tub area was overall a nice treat. The pool was nice - not too warm and not too cold - and best off didn't have that humidity/chlorine combo that you find in a lot of indoor pools. The hot tub was just ok - the jets really left a lot to be desired. I also seemed to have attracted a clump of hair in the swimming pool. Maybe I'm just sensitive to it because I have short hair and get kind of grossed out when I find long hair that isn't mine clinging to my body. Either way that was a downer. read more

We stayed here when our trailer blew a tire so we didn't really have a choice. It was quiet and seemed clean. A complaint is that the "covers" on the beds was the sheet, a thin blanket, and the decorative duvet. So we were cold even with the heater turned up. Simple breakfast. read more

My buddy & I stayed here on are recent motorcycle trip. After a few hundred miles of riding, the indoor pool & spa were welcomed! The hotel was clean, as were the rooms. The beds were firm, but comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was your typical continental type with the added bonus of a waffle maker. We left for another day of riding well refreshed and fed!! Horrible service between super 8 and Wyndham. I booked my room and had already paid for it then upon arrival they wanted another $308.2 for a total of $616.04 for a two night stay. I have stayed at many hotels and the most I have ever paid for a deposit is about $100. Seems a little ridiculous. Called Wyndham about the issue since it's under their umbrella and they don't want to take responsibility for paying double the price. So now not only does the hotel not know what's going on super 8 nor Wyndham will take responsibility since Wyndham only handles issues if it's a cleanliness problem. I would rate these guys negative 5 stars if I could. read more

This hotel is a horrible! I had checked into my reserved room after 11pm, exhausted after a long day of driving. They didn't give me military discount, making the cost of the room over $115. If this room had been $60 I wouldn't have been surprised of what I encountered. I took two steps into my room and my shoes were sticking to the floor. I checked my shoes to make sure nothing was on them and then I looked at the floor - it was FILTHY!! I took a towel and rubbed it on the floor and it was black from filth! The coffee pot hadn't been cleaned so I cleaned that as well. I honestly didn't want to stay at this hotel but as late as it was I was too exhausted to find another hotel. I brought the filthy towels down to the desk the next morning and all they said was, "we'll let housekeeping know". DON'T STAY HERE!!! read more

TRUCK DRIVERS BEWARE!!! The only reason I'm giving 1 star is because you cannot give a ZERO! I am a truck driver working primarily nights, and I routinely check into hotels in the wee hours of the morning to sleep for my required 10 hours between shifts. I checked into this hotel at 5:00 in the morning, and at 11:00am, the front desk called me and asked me to pay for a second night. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? To start with, I paid $79 to stay at a SUPER 8!!!! And you're going to ask me to pay another $79 to sleep for 4 more hours OR LEAVE? To add insult to injury, the management treated me like a second rate citizen throughout this exchange of them requesting me to pay for a second night. Unbelievable!!! Now I have to sit in my truck for 4 hours before I get rolling again. UNBELIEVABLE!!! Truck Drivers be warned...DO NOT STOP AT THIS HOTEL!!! read more

Located right next to I-84, you probably want a room on opposite side of highway and upstairs as the floors are VERY squeaky. Seems hard to find anywhere in La Grande that doesn't have train noise in the background, but it's not loud enough to be disturbing. If you're just passing through and need a place to stay for the night, this place is clean, all non smoking and free WiFi, but no pets allowed. It's a basic room with basic amenities, good price with AAA discount. read more

I chose the Super 8 for my stay expecting it to be more like Motel 6, bad move! They offer great amenities; pool, hot tub, breakfast, nice rooms with flat screen TVs, and mini fridge, but this is all meaningless to me when I have to make my dog, my emotional support animal, that I am extremely close with, sleep in the car due to their very strict "no pets" policy. I can't enjoy my stay when I am constantly worried about my dog in the car. I'm moving from Washington to Michigan so I have to have my dog with me. I spent more time sitting in the car with my dog than I did in the room! The prices here are rather high for not allowing pets, even with my AAA discount. I suggest finding a different hotel. All I want is a place me and my dog can share the room, I don't want or need all the other stuff. As is I spent so much time worried about my little chiweeine staying warm I was in and out of my room for a while checking up on him. I can't wait to leave this hotel! Crap breakfast (no meat), and no pets makes this a NO NEVER AGAIN hotel chain for me! They have lotion and shampoo, but no conditioner?!?! The clock in the room has not even been set to the correct time!?!? A very confusing shower knob, two bars of soap by the tub, but none by the sink??? They also use three throw pillows per bed instead of real pillows? WTF!!! ...and I'm paying over $100 a night for this place?!?! ...with a discount!!! Nothing wrong with the rooms, but the check in was a nightmare and afterwards, dealing with the management was beyond unpleasant. I reserved two rooms on my card and printed out my confirmation number. When we arrived, they said there were no rooms under our name. It took over 20 minutes to get it all figured out while a line of 5 more check ins formed behind us. They put it under the wrong letter of the alphabet. We paid on a different card and stayed the night. I can forgive a little human error, but afterward when my bank still had the room charges on hold (even though we paid from a different account), the Super 8 manager was uncooperative in letting my bank know that the charges had been paid and that they would NOT be sending the charges through. She refused to send anything on Super 8 letterhead to my bank saying that Super 8 does not have one. The cheaper rate was not worth all of this hassle. read more

Our driver stayed at this hotel because we were told that they accept CLC lodging cards. He had to use his own credit card and was told that they would email a receipt to him. Whaaaat???? That doesn't even make sense! By the time he got back to our warehouse, he still did not have the receipt. I called them to ask if they could email it to me so that our company could reimburse him. Her computer was running slow so I gave her my email and she said she would send it to me. After not receiving it for a couple of hours, I called back and talked with a different person, who was extremely rude! I asked if she could email me the receipt and she said she would if I could give her the last 4 numbers of the card that he used. I told her if I had known that when I talked to the other girl earlier, I could have had the numbers because the driver was standing there when I spoke to her earlier. She said "I have an accounting degree and I'm not an idiot"......WOW!! I have an accounting degree too but I sure don't talk to people like that! I didn't even bother telling her that because at that point she probably wouldn't have listened to anything else that I had to say anyway. I did have to wake up my driver so he could forward the receipt to me. I mentioned the "accountant" to him and that is who he spoke with as well. He confirmed how rude he was to her and that she put someone on hold while he was there, talked badly about the person who was on hold, and then got back on the phone with that person. The school that I got my accounting degree from also taught us to be courteous and to not treat customers like a piece of crap. This would never have happened if they had told us they did NOT accept CLC lodging cards. We will not send our drivers here again, even if they do start taking the CLC cards. That's a loss of 3 stays per week. Might I suggest you school your "accountant" in customer service?? The customer NEVER deserves to be treated with such disrespect! read more
