It's a decent hotel in a fairly okay area. The rooms are a bit outdated and could use some TLC. There is a fridge, microwave, couch, and ironing board. Bathrooms are a little dingy and the water pressure is low in the toilets, which I nearly plugged. The facility does have a pool and hot tub, and a non working sauna. The staff is decent and easy to communicate with. If you plan on using vending machines, bring change with, as the front desk never has change. Good continental breakfast and enormous parking lot. The price is a bit high for the overall quality in return. read more

Do not stay here. When we first arrived the floor in the office was cover with debris and was still that way two days later. The screen on bottom floor window had huge holes in it and the room next to it the screen was torn free and blowing in the wind! We we got to our room the furniture (Entertainment center ,chair, couch and night stand are all in a row touching. The night stand would not fit opposite the bed and was turned around backwards on the wall with the tag out. The couch was covered in human excrement of some kind. No where to plug micro wave in. Coffee pot full of mold and rust! We bought one! And on second day were told they had no clean wash cloths. Key had to be rekeyed when we left the room x3. We left early, only stayed because they charged our room immediately and told us we would not get a refund. Wyndham does not care and the girl in the office was rude. When I complained about the wash cloths her response was were we doing laundry? Nope never again I have several pics! Curtains were also hanging of the wall! read more

Check in and check out were smooth. Both clerks were very friendly and helpful. Our room had recently been renovated. New paint, new carpet. It was clean. There was a fridge, microwave, and TV. They layout of the room was a bit peculiar. Long hallway from the door. Huge, but mainly empty bathroom with just the barest necessities. A curved shower-rod would help. So would a side-table with lamp on both sides of the bed instead of just on one side. The wifi was fine. Breakfast had excellent biscuits and gravy, otherwise it was cold cereal and waffles. The TV in the breakfast room was locked onto a right-wing opinion station claiming that leftist liberals were using climate-change to advance their agenda and destroy the country so that was a little nutty. It was definitely functional but could use more TLC. read more

I come to this hotel pretty much every time I come up to escanaba and I've never had any problems until now. Pretty much all I stay in a hotel for is for the hot tub, and every other time I've came to this hotel the hot tub has worked. This time it isn't working. My boyfriend and I checked in last night and were utterly disappointed and disgusted when we got in the hot tub. We were first disgusted by the atrocious woman sitting in the hot tub coughing and hacking every 5 seconds. Literally had no regard for either of us. Then we were disappointed when we sat in the hot tub and it was not hot at all. It was barely even warm. The water was luke warm at best. We left both because of the nasty woman and because of the water basically being cold. I went to the front desk and the woman working the night shift was probably the dumbest woman I've ever met. I told her the hot tub wasn't hot and she was like "ok I'll look into it" and demanded that I stay at the front desk. Not to mention I could barely understand her because she has an Indian accent. She went to the pool and turned the nozzle for the JETS. And said "ok I fixed it" it was not the jets that were broken it's the heat. I again told the woman working the morning shift this morning and instead of fixing it they just put a "out of order" sign on it so now the rest of my stay is ruined because they're too lazy to fix the actual issue and they're too lazy to call someone to do it. I'm not happy, and I'll probably be staying somewhere else next time. This review does not even mention the small ass bed that they claim is a "queen" when I know for sure it definitely is not. It's a full. The tv only has 49 channels and half of them don't even work because of the dish signal. The breakfast options offered are not good. And the bath tub in my room was very small. They need to get their shit together. read more

Of the 10 hotels we stayed at on our 2115 mile trip this was the worse. Room smelled, garbage all over the grounds, only Waffles available for breakfast, coffee machine was broke. The coffee machine did get fixed after I went to the front desk. Our bathroom was under construction, some new unpainted drywall. Don't stay here! read more

I was making reservations for Rhode Island and accidentally made them in Michigan. called super 8 within 10 minutes of noticing my mistake. asked to cancel reservation and refund my money. the answer I got for my refund was, we have a strict policy and my room was non refundable. I've made several attempts to talk to someone about my mistake and no one can help, or refund my money. read more

The only reason I gave one star was because I had to select something. First the woman at the desk was extremely rude while we checked in not to mention she was in her pajamas and god forbid she put her phone down. The room...well the door wouldn't shut without putting the chain on the inside. The screen on the window was ripped to shreds. I usually like super 8's because they are reasonably priced. This place should have been much cheaper for what it's priced as. It has a "breakfast" that was so gross. I understand things need to be different because of Covid but my god. The cereal was sooo stale. I would have checked the expiration dates on everything if I was brave enough to eat it. The pool was drained. Wish we would have known that before we booked. The hotel room was dusty. The whirlpool had black in the molding. All around the room just had a "gross" feeling. The staff was not wearing masks. Being as this was our first real outing since covid hit-it absolutely made me nervous. Would not recommend this place. read more

On the plus side, the room was clean and spacious and the pool was operating. Staff wore masks. On the downside, the back door (key card operated for safety) was typically always propped open. We needed the washer and dryer and the guy at the desk had to tinker with the wiring every time it needed to be started. Plus there was a giant soft-ball size wad of something like hair in the washer. The dryer cost $2 and took three runs (6$) to get things even close to dry and.... final issue... the dryer didn't stop running when the door was open. The desk guy said "thats how its supposed to run." Nearly took my arm off trying to get my laundry and even had to leave some behind because I couldn't snatch it on the way around. They were completely unconcerned. Breakfast was awful, but hard to tell if COVID restrictions affected the offerings. read more

Bathroom needs a lot of work. I do give them credit for a full breakfast with appropriate social distancing, not just a bag and go. The entire place, while no smoking needs a big airing out, as do most places which don't have windows that open. read more

I have, in the past, stayed here often (6 times this year) as it is the hotel used by my employer; and in the past it has been clean, and pleasant. However they are under new ownership, and under the new ownership their cleaning habits have changed for the worse. They no longer service the rooms when you stay there, we had to vacuum, and change our own bed sheets. The breakfast parlor had flies buzzing around, and the carpet was covered in spilled pancake batter that was never cleaned up for the duration of our stay. My family travelled up here to Escanaba, we stayed at this super 8, and we all left with head lice. I returned to Escanaba two weeks ago, and had to stay here again. The bed sheets were dirty, there was makeup and blood on the pillow cases, lice eggs on the bed, and in the bed sheets. The management have refused to acknowledge the issue, and will not be tackling it. My employer will no longer use the hotel, and I have reported them to the MI health dept. No refund given. This Super 8 is listed as pet friendly. In truth they only have 6 pet friendly rooms and do not guarantee you will get one. Totally disappointing when you arrive late after hours of driving and then one of us has to sleep in the car with the dog. read more

If you can stay somewhere else! Try the casino... 1.We planned our stay months in advance since we knew there would be loads of people from the fair staying there too. Despite making this king-bed reservation when we got there there was no king bed rooms left...really? Reservation software - ask corporate 2. They "upgraded" us to a Queen-Jacuzzi room. Sounds ok, but the room was musty and I'm sure filled with mold. A dirty pink barbie car with a fake plant graced the Jacuzzi - and that at first wouldn't even work. Our bathing suits didn't even dry over night the room is so wet and unfiltered of air. 3. Since we were right next to the pool we opted to give it a try along with the "spa". Kids playing the pool having a great time while their parents literally picked their toes in the spa/hot tub. I wanted to vomit. 4. We did get cleaning staff at 8am every morning - she was nice and as far as I could tell did clean. The mgmt needs to get their act together. read more

Room was not super clean and had a strong chemical odor that was clearly an attempt to cover up an underlying musty smell. Had a sore throat and sneezy kids all night. Check in was pleasant enough. After checking in and going to our assigned room, we were horrified at the condition of the sunken mattresses, and the musty smell in the room. We immediately went to the front desk to request another room, as there was no way either of us could have slept in there with that smell (hello, allergies). The associate at the front desk was helpful and apologized, and gave us a different room. This room was better (mattresses and smell), but it is obvious that it is an older property and in desperate need for a renovation. Buyer beware! read more

Four stars for price only. It's dated but they probably haven't raised prices since the 1990's which is it's saving grace. The rooms look like the type of place the Property Brothers would show a couple before "a complete reno." You get your ugly bed spread, cheap mattress, and night stand. The carpet looks clean but I don't travel with a black light flashlight. They also have a pool that gets restocked daily with a fresh group of kiddies. Would I stay here again? Well, it's a Wyndham property, so regardless of the review, the company won't care. We booked a room for 5 people. We check in and our room has two full-size beds - FOR 5 PEOPLE. Wife goes to the front desk, and our option was a roll-away bed for an additional $10. Great. Except that the bed only fits in the entryway to the room. So if we used it, no one could go to the bathroom, and if there was a fire, well, we're screwed. So we took the horribly uncomfortable mattress off it and crammed it onto the floor and forced the smallest child to sleep there. The toilet clogged, too. The pool was ok, except that while the sign said no food or drink, the people there was drinking alcohol and smoking. And there were no towels. The kids wanted to swim, so we let them and finally another guest went and begged for towels. Nasty place. Won't go back and would suggest you do the same. read more

Floors were not clean when we arrived bed was hard as a rock bathroom drains ran really slow, and to top it all off our room lock didn't work. We could get out but had to leave the jarred open to get in. How safe is that???? When my wife went to the front desk person to ask someone to look at the lock he shrugged his shoulders and says what do you want me to do about it. This place is a horror. I tried to eat a waffle from their "free breakfast." It tasted sour. It was rancid. My wife immediately told another guest to not eat the waffle they were making because, as she said, "Something is wrong. They taste 'off'." The other guest said, "You mean more off than yesterday?" I can't believe they served the same rancid food another day. I tried calling Delta County Department of Health. It's Saturday, they're closed. They also have people smoking in the building. We got reservations in April for June through Expedia because of a wedding. We were tired and arrived late. Despite a confirmation email from Expedia, the front desk worker said we had no room reserved. Mistakes happen-I get it- but when the worker first claims its our fault for not calling (which we did), or reserving a couple months in advance (also did), or possibly putting the wrong date (which our confirmation email demonstrates the correct dates), I have to wonder what their standard of customer service is. I was not impressed and did not feel heard or taken care of. So here I sit working with Expedia myself as they are contacting Super8 because, as the front desk guy said "its a pain to do it". Thanks for your help Super 8 as I just paid for 2 hotel rooms to stay in one. Fortunately, the guy from Expedia is much kinder and willing to help. read more

Just what we needed and expected for a quick night stay. Clean, friendly, comfortable. Wi-Fi was a bit slow and got kicked off doing homework, but it was free! Step daughter enjoyed the pool!
