Since it had been a long time since I've had a massage, I made an appointment with Kathleen for an 80 minute session based on her glowing reviews. She has an easygoing personality and made me feel comfortable from the get-go. Kathleen explained the different massage techniques that she uses and after asking which areas of my body I wanted her to focus on, she went straight to work on my muscles, customizing along the way. Kathleen indicated where my trigger points were and told me that if they're not taken care of early on, they can take root and spread. That certainly explained why my body felt like it slowly turning into stone. By the end of the session, I had completely melted into the massage table and was able to move my neck and shoulders freely again. Needless to say, I booked another appointment right away! I recommend that you do the same!

Please do yourself a favor, and call Heidy's Spa, located downtown Flushing. The area has easy parking. The prices are wonderful. The only place I know in NYC that does foot massages at a lovely price. Heidy Spa is so amazing, I wanted to keep this hidden gem a secret. But, Heidy is so kind, and the hospitality was amazing. The staff are very friendly. Sorry I have to mention this, but do not think because they are open very late this is an adult parlor. It is not. JFK, LGA, and Farmingdale has flight crew that patronize this location. Which is great if you work in a profession that requires you to be on your feet. The place is clean, and it gets very busy. Suggest you schedule ahead so there is no wait. The hospitality, kindness, and phenomenal service, is why this will be my new go to place for foot massages. Try the VIP room which is for 2 people. Ken gives a great foot massage. My husband loved his foot massage. They gave him a blanket, and shorts so he would be more comfortable because he wore jeans. Amazing hospitality! She started with a detailed dry massage and then went in to the oil massage. The dry massage hit the spot, it was the perfect pressure. When she started with the oil massage I was sold. She hit all the correct pressure points and removed all knots. I have a desk job and I run. The pressure was definitely higher on the oil massage but I've had worse and it felt amazing! She focused on my shoulders and lower back both of which I needed the massage for. I didn't even need to tell her, her experience spotted my problem points. I was able to relax although it was very lightly painful. It wasn't like some of the rough massages I've had in the past. I didn't leave the place in pain but left feeling so relaxed. I go every month for a massage and this was literally the best massage of my life. The only caveat is that I wish she had focused on my legs a bit more. The place is very clean, it has rooms, they play light music but you can hear if someone is talking next door. The people are friendly as well! I will recommend this location, I haven't been to the one in Manhattan but I've read not good reviews of that location. I will be back and would like to try out their other services! Yao Yao literally has magic in her hands!

For a first experience, this was pretty good! Some notes about the experience: Pros: - I felt like the person performing my massage went at just about the right intensity; I was slightly squeemish at times but it wasn't unbearable. She went in with both hands and elbows (for deeper pressure) and gave all parts of my body (my backside that is) good attention. The con touches this slightly. - Hot stones and towels are included with the massage, just the right temperature! Cons: - Our massage kept on getting interrupted, which both masseuses apologized for. Regardless, it was slightly annoying. I'll give the benefit of the doubt that perhaps there wasn't enough staff that day. - Out of all the areas massaged, the roughest (which I was not expecting at all) was my head. It felt good at first, but then they went waaaaaaaay too rough, to the point where it feels bruised today. Staff were very kind and friendly. FYI: $15 per hour tip is required for services. If you're in Flushing looking for a massage, not a bad place to find one!
