Admissions is VERY unprofessional and totally unacceptable! After spending so much time applying, My OFFICIAL documents from parchment and my high school transcript directly from Lake Shore were not "official" enough for the college and they wanted me to pay ANOTHER $30 out of my pocket for pieces of paper I already had in my possession, so I withdrew my application for enrollment and demanded a refund of my $50 application fee, which they refuse to refund. I'm out $50 because their application process is totally ridiculous and financially unprofessional. It's probably a blessing in disguise because I can only imagine what education looks like at the college if the admission process is this disgusting. read more

As a SUNY Fredonia graduate, I am extremely proud of my degree from Fredonia. I was a transfer student. I was asked to prove that I deserved to be there by showing a great dedication to my chosen field of study - Theatre - and the persistence to overcome any obstacles that were put in my way to achieve my goals. I found support not only within my department but also with the college administration itself. Although it was not always easy, I will always be grateful for my time at SUNY Fredonia. I highly recommend SUNY Fredonia! I have a BA in theatre and I have made my living in Theatre Arts education. read more

This college is one of the Gems of the SUNY system. Its a quiet (mostly) little school nestled among the grape vineyards of Western NY. The college is rich on cultural events, and boasts a great music department with some state of the art facilities. Fredonia State graduates more "teachers" than any college in the the Eastern United States. The university has sporting events offered for the four seasons, but one downfall is no NCAA Football Team. The other sports make up the balance however having graduated many all american and state D-3 Athletes. The college shares it facilities with the general public from the surrounding communities, by way of sports field and court use, the library, and the only starbucks coffee in the Northern half of the county. The main problem on campus is parking. Currently there is not enough spaces for the student body and staff as well as visitors. While attending events at the pool /ice rink, the indoor track/ gymnasium, or the several theaters on campus, you may have to park a few or many steps away from the building. Constant construction plagues the campus with road closings, parking, relocations and losses. The area surrounding the college is eclectic and offers some modern culture. mostly it is rich in history from the war of 1812 to present. There are many "firsts" in this region, and the history and artifact of the "Underground Railroad" is abundant. This college should be looked at with serious attention from students in all sciences and arts. read more

Lacks diversity and funds. When I was attending here I received many racist comments and felt completely different every day as a student. The campus is constantly gloomy and the food is not worth the price you are paying for. Some programs in this school are better than others but if you think you're going far after graduating then good luck. There's a reason this school is not well known and honestly, they deserve it. For a liberal arts school, the students are pretty closed minded. If I were you I would consider this as a safety school if you're applying. But please, don't waste your money. read more

Campus review only. The campus is in the modern architecture, satellite state university mold. Some may like it while others may find it sterile and lacking a traditional feel. The town of Fredonia, however, is almost the opposite. It has a lot of attractive old Victorian and other vintage homes, some brick streets covered by towering old trees, a sort of cute older downtown, etc. I found the town quite attractive and homey and the surrounding countryside is attractive, too. The closest big city is Buffalo which is roughly 50 miles away which some may see as a drawback. read more

Overall beautiful atmosphere. The people, including the professors are excellent and the students add a diverse feeling to the campus. The campus in general is very nice and easy to navigate.The community surrounding the college is welcoming and overall friendly. read more
