I even did a three way call with my insurance agency and Sunwest. They are still billing me for phony insurance.l and sending automated notices. I cannot say enough great things about this organization and the people who work there. Sandy is particularly awesome and went above and beyond to help us get our auto refinance completed, even while their computers were down. Her excellent customer service is top notch and all the other girls are wonderful too. They really care about their members and when it comes to things like loans, they don't just judge you by a credit score, but look at the whole picture. Most banking and financial institutions are not like that, they look at your score and if it is not exactly where it should be, they instantly deny you. I just moved back to this area after many years and, as I much prefer banking with local banks and/or credit unions, was in need of a new local financial institution. After doing research I went down yesterday and opened a new checking and savings account with Sunwest in Goodyear. The staff in this location demonstrated one of the reasons why I prefer local institutions, as they were all very helpful and friendly and went out of their way to provide excellent customer service. The representative that I worked with to open my accounts was Angel and she is excellent. Her customer service skills are top notch and her knowledge of the services great. She is a true asset to the company. Although I do wish Sunwest had a branch a bit closer to my home, they do offer all the services I need and do not nickle and dime you to death with fees. I like that they are connected to a coop network with other credit unions across the country so that when I go back east at times I can still have access to banking facilities should it be necessary. My initial contact with a teller was disappointing. Although I asked for information on their accounts, so I might read it while I waited for a branch rep, I was given nothing and the woman seemed to be unsure of what to say. She kept looking at her computer and stumbling over her words. I would think a teller would have some information on available accounts, and certainly should have brochures available. The branch rep, Angel Dela Pena, was very nice and accommodating. There were a few matters that weren't covered, again because I had not been given any information to peruse prior to "signing up". I would have given her a higher score, but the lack of information available from the branch itself prevents me from doing so. read more

I wanted to set up a checking account the week of April 6, 2020 for when I move to a Goodyear in late 2020. Per instructions from the home office and according to the information on their website I should be able to make an appointment for this action. When I called to ask for the other requirements, I was told there would be NO appointments at this time. Their loss that they can not follow their own business model instructions. I have been going into this branch for three years to make deposits on my out of state credit union. Well the out of state credit union decided to start charging for their services. I did some research on several credit unions in the area. I finally decided on Sun West. When I went into the branch I waited, in line, just a few minutes. The next branch representative was Angel Dela Pena. Well, to make a long story short, her attention to my needs was refreshing. She listened, asked the appropriate questions and finally we collaborated on what was the best plan for my financial needs. She explained everything , in detail, and made the paperwork as easy as possible under today's standards. She was personable but still retained the professionalism that we all want. I was so impressed with Ms. Dela Pena's service that I stopped by to introduce myself to her manager and sing her employee;s praises. This branch is allegedly part of the CU$ alliance which allows credit union members nationwide to withdrawal from an alliance ATM, surcharge free. I'm a member of a sister credit union and the ATM said it would impose a $2.50 fee. I cancelled my transaction and left. If you don't bank with SunWest FCU directly, stay away from their ATM's!!! read more

If I could give them a 0 I would had them draw a check for me for our new home found out we were being scammed and the check hadn't been cashed they had me leave my new job on the first day when I get to there office they won't cancel the check for 90 day's because I'm a shared branch member so I'm out 2500 dollars because they won't allow me to stop the payment the might as well be helping these people commit fraud read more

I have been with Sun West Federal Credit Union only for a few months. I set up this account to have my pay check direct deposited since we moved to Goodyear, Arizona from California. My employer is a large California department and some banks and credit unions waited a day or two after payday to make my money available to me. So when I open new accounts I make sure the institution deposits my check on payday in stead of waiting. And SunWest assured me this wouldn't happen. Well, it's payday today and I see SunWest tells me I'll have my money in the account tomorrow, AFTER THEY ASSURED ME THIS WOULDN'T HAPPEN. I called my local branch and talked to a representative and got no help. So a day late isn't too bad this month. But my next payday is the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. So with the holiday weekend I will probably have to wait until Monday after Thanksgiving for SunWest to deposit my money. In times past, before I figured this out and used credit unions that did not deposit my money on payday, I've had to wait several days, until after long holiday weekends, such as New Year one year, and that made my mortgage payment come back with insufficient funds. So when I can pull my direct deposit from my employer I will quickly close my account with SunWest. read more
