I cannot say enough great things about this organization and the people who work there. Sandy is particularly awesome and went above and beyond to help us get our auto refinance completed, even while their computers were down. Her excellent customer service is top notch and all the other girls are wonderful too. They really care about their members and when it comes to things like loans, they don't just judge you by a credit score, but look at the whole picture. Most banking and financial institutions are not like that, they look at your score and if it is not exactly where it should be, they instantly deny you. I am thankful for this credit union and the people behind it, who care and treat each individual as just that, an individual, not a number. I highly recommend this credit union to everyone! read more

The absolute worst, most terrible customer service I have ever experienced. SunWest had a technical outage\change that resulted in my online account access becoming disabled. They also will not allow me to make a payment over the phone--after calling 25 times with a 2 hour++ hold time after sorting through 'ai' menu slop. They claim I set a secret password that I never did and will not allow me to make my payment--despite having every relevant piece of information under the sun to verify my identity. They demanded that I visit a physical branch, quite some distance away, if I want to avoid having a late payment. This is not my first and will not be my last issue with this company. They are the absolute worst I have ever dealt with. read more

I have been a customer for almost 3 years. It seems like every time I go in to make a deposit there is a line. Today, September 25, 2026, was the worse I ever experienced. When I walked in I was third in line. Then two more customers came in behind me. There was only one teller working and another who was keeping her head down. After 15 minutes of waiting, I went to the teller whose head was done and asked her for help. Her reply was that she was trying to balance her drawer. I replied that it was poor customer service and to take care of us. This teller did go to her manager who was working with someone for the entire time we were there and the teller started taking the people , who were standing in line. I was taken care of the other teller and while she apologized, by now, I am in the facility for 25 minutes. I said the service was terrible and they need to hire someone. I am going to look for another credit union because , while the branch is big and cheery, the service is the worse I have ever seen. read more

I swing by to make a quick deposit today. 2 tellers were talking to each other and neither one of them acknowledged me coming in. So I sat in the chair, then another customer came in, she was welcomed and served before me. Another man came in, I stood in front of him. Then I was served but not so pleasant manner. I won't be back. read more

Without getting into my specifics, please know that this group went the extra mile for me - and could have been "firm" like any other bank with rules, but also have a human side - which in the age of AI - is invaluable. The result saved me so much pain and suffering. Thank you Patrick/Gina read more

Why do you have a drive through when it takes 10 to 15 minutes to get waited on. Was so excited for this. Not anymore. Guess I'll look at switching CU soon. The 1st time I ended up going inside.. read more

Do not charge bank fees, that's the good and that's where it ends. Terrible service. I was a first time car buyer (loan) they ran my credit and afterwards told me I never bought a car before from a dealer, if they had asked I would have told them... results they do a hard hit on my credit and tell me they won't loan to me. Unless you have a large account they do not care about you. read more

Had the most pleasant experience with the staff at this Goodyear branch with both mine and my wife's cars refinances. MSR Angel De la Pena- Tajin was very fast, friendly, and professional. I really recommend everyone to come out and get any bank need done here read more

I just moved back to this area after many years and, as I much prefer banking with local banks and/or credit unions, was in need of a new local financial institution. After doing research I went down yesterday and opened a new checking and savings account with Sunwest in Goodyear. The staff in this location demonstrated one of the reasons why I prefer local institutions, as they were all very helpful and friendly and went out of their way to provide excellent customer service. The representative that I worked with to open my accounts was Angel and she is excellent. Her customer service skills are top notch and her knowledge of the services great. She is a true asset to the company. Although I do wish Sunwest had a branch a bit closer to my home, they do offer all the services I need and do not nickle and dime you to death with fees. I like that they are connected to a coop network with other credit unions across the country so that when I go back east at times I can still have access to banking facilities should it be necessary. I look forward to a long and beneficial relationship with this credit union! read more

My initial contact with a teller was disappointing. Although I asked for information on their accounts, so I might read it while I waited for a branch rep, I was given nothing and the woman seemed to be unsure of what to say. She kept looking at her computer and stumbling over her words. I would think a teller would have some information on available accounts, and certainly should have brochures available. The branch rep, Angel Dela Pena, was very nice and accommodating. There were a few matters that weren't covered, again because I had not been given any information to peruse prior to "signing up". I would have given her a higher score, but the lack of information available from the branch itself prevents me from doing so. read more

Love that this place has sister banking, I'm able to deposit money to a different bank out of state, I thought it would be a lengthy process every time I had to do so the staff here had me in and out super quick. They've always been friendly and easy to work with. read more

I wanted to set up a checking account the week of April 6, 2020 for when I move to a Goodyear in late 2020. Per instructions from the home office and according to the information on their website I should be able to make an appointment for this action. When I called to ask for the other requirements, I was told there would be NO appointments at this time. Their loss that they can not follow their own business model instructions. I found another credit union to work for me in Goodyear. Give First Credit Union your business instead. read more

SunWest FCU welcomed me as a new member in a professional and hospitable way. Bobi did a great job helping with the process of opening a new account. Overall, a great experience. SunWest deserves the great marks they receive on Yelp. read more

This branch is allegedly part of the CU$ alliance which allows credit union members nationwide to withdrawal from an alliance ATM, surcharge free. I'm a member of a sister credit union and the ATM said it would impose a $2.50 fee. I cancelled my transaction and left. If you don't bank with SunWest FCU directly, stay away from their ATM's!!! read more

If I could give them a 0 I would had them draw a check for me for our new home found out we were being scammed and the check hadn't been cashed they had me leave my new job on the first day when I get to there office they won't cancel the check for 90 day's because I'm a shared branch member so I'm out 2500 dollars because they won't allow me to stop the payment the might as well be helping these people commit fraud read more

This is the best credit union in the west!!! Been with this bank since 1981. They truely believe in their customers. Treat you like family. They also work with you with not so good credit. They actually give you a chance to prove to them u can do it. This branch is my fav. Love Sandy and her staff. Wonderful group of people. Keep up the great work. read more

Terrible customer service - I keep an average of $10,000 in accounts (but not for long) - went in to get rid of $2 in pocket change - they refused to give me bills - it was not like I had a jar of pennies I wanted them to count - very bad attitude - look somewhere else for your banking needs! read more

Not just this branch, but the corporation in general is super helpful. Alerted of fraud, but I was unable to go to the beach because I'm out of town in college. Called and let them know, and they made all the necessary arrangements for me to be able to get my funds back and a new card. Even gave me the addresses of the nearest sister branches I could go to to retrieve money from my account. read more

I have been with Sun West Federal Credit Union only for a few months. I set up this account to have my pay check direct deposited since we moved to Goodyear, Arizona from California. My employer is a large California department and some banks and credit unions waited a day or two after payday to make my money available to me. So when I open new accounts I make sure the institution deposits my check on payday in stead of waiting. And SunWest assured me this wouldn't happen. Well, it's payday today and I see SunWest tells me I'll have my money in the account tomorrow, AFTER THEY ASSURED ME THIS WOULDN'T HAPPEN. I called my local branch and talked to a representative and got no help. So a day late isn't too bad this month. But my next payday is the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. So with the holiday weekend I will probably have to wait until Monday after Thanksgiving for SunWest to deposit my money. In times past, before I figured this out and used credit unions that did not deposit my money on payday, I've had to wait several days, until after long holiday weekends, such as New Year one year, and that made my mortgage payment come back with insufficient funds. So when I can pull my direct deposit from my employer I will quickly close my account with SunWest. read more

They changed my account numbers without telling me. When my automatic payments bounced and I racked up large amounts of service charges, Sun West said, "It's not our fault." They changed my account numbers without telling me. That is definitely their fault. read more
