I had contacted the plumber as my LifeTime Rheem large capacity hot water tank does require some routine maintenance. As it turned out the connected expansion tank was filling with water and was improperly installed. The tech rectified all that within a tight time frame -- and of course throughly inspected the main tank, electronics, and electrodes. He also drained any sediment. While these are typical aspects with respect to the requested services, the manner performed was exhaustive, professional and everything was kept clean, dry and tidy. I had complete confidence as I looked on and observed complete respect for my property. In the course of the service call (which I was initially hesitant to initiate, just because, well, who bothers with maintenance?), it was also determined that my water pressure regulator valve was malfunctioning after a water pressure test was conducted early on. While replacement was relatively costly, it was perhaps critically necessary so that was why I'm thrilled. This was a throughly executed, friendly, and even thoughtful service(s) call. The Fujitsu thermostat that West Bay installed - but does not understand how to operate - was not working. I called and had to beg Duncan for 30 mintes to send a serviceman out to fix it. This turned into a multi-week ordeal during which 3 different guys spent a total of 6 hours at my house on 3 separate appoinments. None of them could figure out why the thermostat did not work properly. The third guy was on the phone to Fujitsu for an hour while he was standig in my hallway! These were friendly young men who admitted they had never been trained by the company on this product. Frustrated but not allowed to replace the faulty unit, they gave up and left me with a unit I still cannot set on a schedule, meaning I have to constantly adjust the temperature and am not getting the savings on power that a heat pump should provide. When I wrote a long letter to the owner, Dave Young, begging him to authorize this repair, I was ignored. He never responded nor even acknowledged receiving it. I have heard that West Bay used to be a reputable company until bought by this owner who just doesn't care about the customers, only his profit m More than disappointing.
