The day we went we were being pursued by a big storm so we paddled hard! It was pretty surreal actually! About 10 minutes from where we got out of the boat it started to rain, but what happened before that was magical! The air was still and then alternating gusts of super hot and super cool air started blowing at us! Little tufts of cottonwood pollen were suspended in the air and the birds started to go wild! Probably at least 10 different types of birds started swooping over our boat looking for cover! It really was a magical experience!!

We had been working sorting pairs and moving cattle on the other side of Billings. My GF wanted to…read morego on a trail ride to see some Montana scenery. We reached out to a few riding places. One had to cancel us. Paintbrush Adventures called us back about 24 hours after we called and left a message. No problem there. We set up a ride for the 2 of us. We found the place with no problem. We were greeted by a lady and 3 teen aged girls who all went out on the ride with us. There were a few dozen horses in the corral that all looked good. Horses were quiet and calm. The ride was along the river and parallel to the road. The area was in a wooded lot. 30 acres MOL. Lots of dead trees. The river was a nice touch. We were disappointed when it was just trails in a dead wooded lot. Nothing terribly scenic. No hills, no mountain scenes. Not exactly the Montana experience we were expecting. Nothing like the pictures we saw here.
