I'm not a big fan of this location; it's one of the smallest VDO locations and the merchandize I…read moresaw here was disappointingly boring. Often times the selections don't necessarily reflect the type of neighborhood where the merchandize is held, but this principle appeared to be somewhat defied today. The aisles were a bit narrow. There weren't too many people shopping, but some of the "miscellaneous" items were sort of fragmented and shattered. I wonder if anyone would want to take broken pieces home, unless there is a creative use out of any of these. There were vinyls on the ground, decapitated dolls in the bins, and abandoned teddy bears that needs be revived in loving households. There weren't any organizations on anything really. I guess you can truly have a pleasure of thrift shopping, because you will need to thrift diligently in this location. If you don't live in or close to this neighborhood, head to other locations before coming to this one. It's one of the south-side locations, even though the CTA bus 47 (47th.; going from Hyde Park--Bronzeville--Back of the Yard--Brighton Park--Gage Park--Midway) and the CTA 49 (Western) buses are conveniently accessible. The actual location is on the 47th. St. and S. Maplewood in the Brighton Park neighborhood, just FYI.

What is weird is that they don't take credit or debit cards and the ATM in the back of the store is expensive. The prices also tend to be all over the place for their very spotty selection, sometimes I would go in and get a bunch of essentials for the house for very cheap. Another time I tried to buy some fabric and the woman wanted like $18 for it. The last few times I've went I was looking for specific items that most thrift stores have like a backpack, or some jeans and they didn't have anything so it's a strange place.

This Goodwill location is disorganized in multiple ways. I shopped here last week and was…read moreguaranteed by an employee that if I get home and my appliance does not work, I can return it with the original tag and receipt. They since have changed their policy regarding returns and exchanges leaving anyone who bought something within the past week with faulty products that they otherwise would not have purchased. The young lady at the counter (who had a lot of patience with my obvious displeasure) explained to me that they were having issues and as a result, they have also fired multiple employees. Apparently, the employees that they fired were the employees who value customer service skills. Last week, was a very welcoming positive experience that encouraged me to return... This week I have decided that I will shop elsewhere. The layout of the store has also been re-organized in a way that makes less sense. Instead of moving entire sections from one end of the store to the other I suggest that they focus more on accurately labeling clothes and their sizes. This location has some super cute finds but beware!! I would NOT recommend that you purchase any electronic device, including lamps and kitchen appliances from this location.
