They tried to insuate that maybe I had caused it from trimming his tear stains. I don't trim my dog's tear stains, I wash his eye area with a warm washcloth. The cut was not on my dog when I dropped him off. It was very noticeable, and I would have seen it if it had been there at any time. Also, if his eye had been cut, I would not have taken him for grooming, I would have been taking him to vet. This cut, you can tell from the pictures is a fresh wound. I understand that accidents can happen, but to lie about to my face!? That just makes the grooming staff look like fools! I'm angry that they didn't take good care to not injure my dog, and even more angry that they lied about, and tried to say that maybe I had done it!! I'll update this review if Chuck & Don's takes care of the vet bill...because I went right to the vet with him after I picked him up. This should never happen to our beloved pets. I will never take my dog to any Chuck & Don's for grooming again. 5/3/2026: UPDATE: I was called today by the district manager. I Do feel like sh listened to me and took my concerns seriously. I also feel like she cared that my dog was injured. She did assure me that Chuck & Don's would definitely take responsibility for the vet bills. I appreciate that she reached out to me. I am upgrading my star rating to a 3 because of the way the company is handling this incident.

Our daycare experience was great, minus some turf burns on his paws but our boarding experience was less than ideal. When we came back to pick him up, there was this "hot spot" under his chin/neck area. When I brought it up with the staff at pickup, they weren't even aware of it. The lack of attention to detail on my pup is concerning as you could tell it had been festering for a few days. I hate that I am now left with this uncertain and uneasy feeling about his care there. In fact, Gentle Care Grooming just signed another 5 year lease so they are "here to stay". Vanessa (the owner) and her husband run a 2 man show. I have taken both of my dogs (shitzaus) there for the past 13 years and I can say without a doubt that they do a wonderful job. I always feel my dogs have been well taken care of and loved while they are away at the "beauty shop". Their building is in a little bit of a run down strip mall but don't let that influence you from using them. Their hours can get a little tricky as they are only open from 7:30am to 3pm (or whenever the last dog gets picked up) Tuesday - Saturday. This is NOT a doggy day care so be expected to pick up your pet close to the time he/she will be finished. Have you cash or check book handy as do not take any credit cards. I would highly recommend this groomer to anyone in need of one!

I really appreciate that this is a family-owned small business and not a large chain like a number of the other local doggy daycare/boarding facilities. They get to know all of the pups super well. They are really "blossomed" the past year and a half in terms of offering tons of fun theme days where you can get photos of your dog dressed up and participating in activities (bunny ear photos and Easter egg hunt for Easter!) They also post fun updates to social media and have tons of cameras so you can check in on your pup throughout the day if you choose. They have helped me out soooo many times including when I have been running late for the pick-up or reaching out for a late reservation or an add-on service. The ability to be able to have Nora get groomed, nails clipped, and her anal glands expressed all during a regular day at daycare is amazing and so convenient. When we moved just over a year ago, we literally made sure to keep in mind the distance between us and Wag 'n Woofs because bringing her elsewhere was not an option.
