UPDATE 23AUG2018: To give you an idea of validation of their business practices: they had my negative, but true, review on Google removed. They have not removed this one...yet... Buyer beware!
NOT RECOMMENDED: Bob Paul (the owner) is deceitful in his business dealings and does not stand by the work/damage caused by his lowest-bidder subcontractors. I was closing on a house in Auburn in December, and Sunshine Flooring was hired by the previous owner of my home to stretch the carpets in the master bedroom.
The day before closing, I did a walk-through and inspection with my realtor; the stretching of carpet in the master bedroom showed that they stretched the carpet when there was still a bed on top of the carpet; so the carpet needed to be re-stretched the day of closing because it was still bunched up.
So closing on the house was scheduled for the following afternoon and one of the terms before the closing being final was that the carpet issue be fixed... again. Sunshine Flooring was in the house while I was at the lawyer's office. Then I went back to the house that I now owned to verify all of the repairs were complete. The carpet was stretched in the bedroom, and the person who was subcontracted through Sunshine Flooring had rocks in their shoes, because newly placed scratches were placed up and down my entire staircase in an alternating pattern (photos show). My realtor and I spent the rest of the afternoon on the phone and meeting with Sunshine Flooring representatives to include Mr. Bob Paul himself. He ultimately said, "I'm sorry that this happened, but we stand by our work and we'll take care of this."
That's exactly what a customer wants to hear when a company has damaged their personal property; it will be taken care of... But that couldn't be further from the truth. Bob Paul talked with the owner of southern hardwood flooring and had a representative come out to the house to repair it. The representative from southern hardwood flooring took a sanding sponge to the first plank on the stairs. He said, well there's a protective wax coating that would require the stairs to be completely stripped and refinished. It would cost $15 a step to do the repair, but I'm not authorized to do that. So I called Bob Paul, and told him the situation. He said, "it's not my fault your stairs were already messed up. I don't like you. I don't like your attitude. I am not paying a dime. If you want something out of me, sue me."
Mr. Paul is not worth my time to sue nor yours (if you're put in a similar situation). I had the repairs done by a different company in Auburn with a guarantee on the work. This review is submitted so others don't have to be subject to Mr. Bob Paul's lowest-bidder, poor-quality, and lack of follow-through business model.
NOT RECOMMENDED unless you want to hover over those who are subcontracted through this company and pursue legal litigation to make the company stand by their work and collateral damages. read more
