Ok, I am not a professional bowler, but this is the worst place I have ever bowled. The balls have the strangest hole configurations, hard to find one that works. Then, there is NO slide on the lane. I can't figure out if it's the shoes or the floor or both. We asked the guy to come fix it, and he wiped it and then it smelled really strongly of rubbing alcohol and then it was still really sticky. As far as I know, rubbing alcohol would take off the finish of most wood floors. But what do I know? Just that it was super sticky. We even tried changing lanes but it didn't make a difference. I actually ended up pulling my butt muscle and I'm pretty sure it's because of this floor. I couldn't bowl anymore after the 4th frame because I was in so much pain. Then the guy had to keep going back and resetting the pins because it kept breaking. And the screen on our first lane was broken so the worker had to control it for us. There is also no seating near the lanes so everyone ends up sitting on the counter where the balls are kept. So weird. I would stay far away from this place. read more

Worst bowling alley in the USA. I wouldn't bowl here again if it was free. Our lane stopped working and after 20 minutes the guy working on our lane went to help people out at the counter. Didn't even let us know he couldn't fix it. We had to wait in line to find out. Then he moved us to another lane. Guess what? It stopped working too. Again we had to wait in line to see if we could get the guy to help us or give us a refund. No refund, no partial refund, wanted us to change lanes again. 3 small children were done by this point. I convinced them to bowl in the last lane. Guess what? It stopped working too. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. read more

Fun little place and exactly what you would expect for a bowling alley. Our family of four (2 adults, 2 kids) bowled 2 games with shoe rental for $24. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful! We had a real fun time! The screen did have a glitch where it looked a bit berserk for a few minutes but still kept score. read more

Not a good place. Old, stinky, overpriced, dreary, etc. Went there with my boys when the wife was shopping and didn't ever feel particularly welcome. The staff kept watching us, warning us that they might have to move us for a bowling league, frowning at my two boys as if they were going to run down the lanes . . . I used to work at a bowling alley and love the general nostalgia I feel when I set foot in such places . . . but I don't think I'll come back here. I mean, are kids not allowed? Was it because we only paid for one game? Would you prefer catering to only to the few regulars who bring their own shoes? Weird. read more

I don't understand why people get so bugged out because of this place. This place is outstanding. It's been around for a while and growing up, that was the best place to be at. It has been more than 10 years since i had last bowled. However, i had been in st george, utah for almost 3 weeks and have come here once a week. Its a professional, clean, family atmosphere. The absolute WORST bowling alley I've ever bowled at. The lane broke 5+ times in one game and there was no staff to help. They only had two "kids ramps" and the bumpers were broken, both of which lead to tears. Overall, brutal experience that lead to minimal fun and 1.5 hrs wasted. I bowled 2 times and then it started to reset my pins i asked for a refund they said no i tried to get my full refund they said we can only pay back a little bit we payed 48 they gave us 32 dollars back, the chashier was rude said we couldn't talk to his manager the service sucked and our time there sucked! read more

Me and a group of friends came here every Saturday night for the past 2 months and every night there was a problem (broken bumpers, balls not returning..etc) we decided to give them one last chance. We arrived at 9pm at night and put our name on the list we waited for a whole hour for them to call us and they never did. When we went to check how much longer we had they have had completely skip our name. Without apologizing they told us we could wait 5 more mins for lane 9 and 10. So as soon as the people who were playing on 9 and 10 we jumped on it. As we went up to pay they gave our lane away and tried blaming it on us. Without apologizing AGAIN they told us we could wait more for another lane. We will never come back again. Horrible customer service and horrible bowling alley if you wanted to be treated like crap then I suggest to go to this place! read more

From Las Vegas and after checking reviews decided to try Sunset. Worked well for us. Our interactions with counter staff, pro shop and management were all above average in friendliness and service. Lanes worked well and the few problems we had or saw were handled quicker than we're used to at the big casinos/bowling alley's at home. Only care about leagues tried to bowl there for brothers birthday. Called almost a week before guy told us it would be fine. When we got there a kid who seemed as if he didn't care if you ever came back, said we have leagues idk who you talked to we have leagues it's on our sign inside! Not listed on yelp. The worker was very rude and sexist. We were just trying to have fun and we had put bumbers on a friend's lane because he wasn't doing too good and was feeling bad so we put bumbers on and the worker came and yelled at us. He said it was OK for the girls which is demeaning to us and made our friend feel even worse. We had also called ahead to see if leagues were playing and he told us no but when we showed up 10 minutes after calling it was packed with leaguers. Also the food made us sick. The same worker also had his kid working behind the counter with the shoe cleaner while he was playing on his phone. read more

This is the worst of the 3 bowling options in town. If you are looking for clean or family friendly this is not the place. I have had my kids bowl in leagues for 6 years here so I know the facility well. I would not leave my kids here alone to bowl. There is a bar attached to the alley(I believe it is one of the only bars in the city, maybe the only?) and lots of time kind of rough smoky people playing pool. I grew up in large cities so it is not the bar or the ppatrons but the lack of staff here that concerns me when another patron starts using bad language or is a little tipsy. Unless the staff is hiding, there is one person behind the counter, one at the grill and maybe one behind the lanes. The kids bowling leagues are not affiliated with the bowling alley and offer many scholarships so when my kids want to participate I will still bring them but if I am doing recreational bowling, we usually go to Dixie bowl and a few times to fiesta fun because they are just more family friendly places (and cleaner). read more

Me and my friends just bought bowling shoes from the DI (Deseret industries) and we've been going to Dixie bowl so we decided to change it up and go to this sh** hole. I walked in and asked for a lane and the worker (not owner or manager) grabs my shoes out of my hands and threatens to call the cops for stealing there bowling. I told him he could have the shoes and that I bought them from DI. He didn't believe me. Then I asked if I could at least get shoes for a game for free because I paid $15 for the shoes a week before... long story short he told me no and watched us bowl to make sure we wernt going to steal the bowling shoes. read more

I don't understand these other reviews I have been here about 10 times and always had a great time. I is as clean as any bowling alley I have been in lately except for a couple of new places I have been to. I always got great service and everything worked. I don't bowl on a league there so I know I am not getting special treatment. As far as being the only place in town that is not true. There are two others. One of them is much older than this one. Sunset West was built in 1996 so its not that old and is definitely the best of the three in town. I have eaten there twice and had good food and service. I can recommenced their BLT to anyone. It sounds like most of the reviewers were really looking for a fun center and not a bowling alley. read more

We bowl here every chance we get--which is sometimes twice a week! It is awesome and the kids at the desk treat us great! The bowling pro's are very helpful and we don't even belong to a league. The lanes are good and everything is kept really clean and nice! Not sure where anyone finds anything negative to talk about! read more
