My wife has been after me to get this sleep study done for close to 15 years with little acceptance from me. I had it done about 17 years ago and promised myself that I wouldn't do it again. Well, because I am writing this, you know that she finally won the argument. I headed to the Lab knowing how miserable it was going to be. But to my surprise I was met by Paula at the Simi Valley location who was extremely pleasant, patient, and knowledgable. She assured me that my apprehenstion was normal and that she will help me through this process as much as possible. She hooked me up and allowed me to watch TV until I got tired. Then I turned off the TV and listened to my music playlist for a while and fell asleep. The Lab was clean and the bed was pretty comfortable. If I have to go back (which I believe I will), I would not hesitate to use this lab again. read more

This place is awful. The customer service is terrible, I spoke with bri, and she was being extremely rude and sarcastic. Asked my CC information, and I told her I am not comfortable to give anyone CC information over the phone, but i will send them a check after I receive the device. She started insulting me. My doctor referral was sent 12.4.25. I called them immediately and they said someone would call me in 24 hours as they didn't have the referral in. I called back 2 days later and they said someone would call me. I called back 2 weeks later and they said someone would call me the next day. I have never received a call from them. On Tuesday 1.13.26 basically 6 weeks since I first called they said it's with their scheduling department and someone will call me tomorrow. This is horrible service! Patients Beware! Sent me a sleep study machine to do at home. Asked for my credit card info, just to keep on file in case their machine was not returned. Found out through my bank that Sunset Sleep Labs had charged my card 7 different times at $25 each totaling $175. Mary Beth called me back and said these were late charges, which don't even make sense. They're a bunch of thieves. Refrain from giving them your cc number. Don't use this place if you can. UCLA health uses them and we should report them. They charge for shipping which is a medical device for testing. They shouldn't charge patients for this. Also they have stupid instructions on how they charge you if you get the sleep machine and if you don't set it up within 3 business days. read more

This place is so unorganized. Sent in a referral several weeks ago and followed up several times. Each time I called they tell me they have to verify insurance and it takes time. So I call again and this time they tell me they haven't done anything because they need the referral (that was emailed to them) and now they need the drs note. Maybe reach out and let us know? Now we get the notes and it's going to be 7-10 days for insurance referral. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Not sure why they are a recommended place to go for sleep studies. read more

I had my overnight sleep study in the Tarzana facility last night. At every step, from the referral by Kaiser, to the appointment, and finally the study itself, Sunset Sleep Labs has been exceptional. I am an RN and can, at times, be a bit hard on care providers knowing the "best" way healthcare should be approached. Sunset Sleep hit the mark, and to quote the metaphor, "knocked it out of the park." As a clinician, when it comes to my own care, I hear all too often, "You're a nurse, you already know this, so we'll move on." Not so with this provider. Dan, the Sleep Technologist, let me "be a patient" and ask the questions and address my concerns in a calm, reassuring, empathetic, and professional manner. My husband tried to get sleep study onsite but was told they only send out their monitors to our home due to covid. We decided to try it. My husband was diagnosed with sleep apnea over a decade ago but he stopped treatment. I've heard his snore and choke in his sleep so we just needed confirmation and a sleep apnea machine. We were told he did not have sleep apnea and charged over $400. Once I checked my insurance claim, it stated we were only supposed to pay $100. I called them asking regarding this and if we could redo the study. They said they would give us a call back. We instantly were refunded the remaining amount and only charged $100 but yet no answer on redoing the study onsite. Don't trust this company. How can they charge you more than what your insurance says you should be charged? and now I got to find another reliable place that's able to diagnose my husband correctly. read more

The worst! Unacceptable! My doctor ordered a sleep study in July and Sunset Sleep Labs did not send the testing device to me for several weeks. The test was performed the same day the device was received and immediately sent back. It is now September 21st and the results have not yet been received! Meanwhile, I am not sleeping well and am always tired. It should not take so long to get the test results and begin any necessary treatment. I feel that my health is in jeopardy because of the long delay. Sunset Sleep Labs is extremely inefficient and unreliable! Would NOT recommend. read more

This company and some of its employees clearly need a lot of TLC. I currently had a test with this company at the SANTA CLARITA location and that tech had no idea what she was doing. The head readers/wires she was trying to stick on were not sticking or staying in place. The finger reader does not work with gel/acrylic nails however she told me not to remove it and that she would manipulate it for it to "work". She then came in just after i had fallen asleep woke me up with checking all the wires as if they were NOT working properly. I checked in 15 minutes before my appointment and was completely hooked up and able to get into bed until 1 hour and 45 minutes later. Find any other location except SANTA CLARITA. Went for 2nd opinion and experience was so much better. My result's were different than what this Sunset Sleep Labs had stated. read more

They let me test again for a price then they said I don't have sleep problems. I still cant sleep. Keiser needs to drop this place. Two tests and out of pocket costs. I was diagnosed with possible sleep apnea by a UCLAspecialist in sleep Medicine. He suggested that I do an "overnight" sleep test to get the best possible picture of my status. I arrived at 8 PM and was welcomed by a nurse/technician and was led to a bedroom where she explained the procedure to me in detail and answered all of my questions. The facility was clean and did not look like a lab or doctor's office. It reminded me more of a 4 star hotel. The room had a huge bed, TV and very comfortable. This is my 2nd sleep study, the one prior was 15 years ago. I was not prepared for how thorough and instructive this was going to be. Everything was explained, a little background on the definition of CPAP (which I never knew anything about prior) and great effort to provide a comfortable setting for me. I was to be measured for a new machine to be calibrated to my exact need and a new head appliance. I had no problem falling asleep, everything very professional. I think everyone should get a sleep study done and this is the place to do it. read more

My mother-in-law has been attempting to move off of nighttime oxygen since she had a series of bouts of pneumonia back in 2019 (pre-Covid). Her pulmonary specialist recommended an in-lab sleep study. Both she and I were very nervous, but I'm so glad they assigned us to Sunset Sleep Labs in Simi Valley. We had some hiccups with scheduling but Sunset promised to keep an eye out for an opening to make sure we would get her results in time to travel. And they did! When we arrived at the sleep study, I was allowed to stay and help get my mother-in-law ready for bed. Missy, the technician, was SO kind and explained each step. It took 45 minutes to hook up all the wires and pieces of testing equipment, but we always knew what was going on. Missy also helped my mother-in-law FINALLY find a mask that really works for her in a way that she never has had in the past. When my mother-in-law accidentally left her pocketbook (AND PHONE!) there, I was able to get in touch and get everything squared away. As promised, the results were ready and we had the information we needed before our trip. I am so impressed by how well everything was handled. I definitely recommend Sunset Sleep Labs. read more

I showed up at the Simi Valley location 10 minutes early for my sleep study. I filled out a lot of paperwork then was given a bed. A guy with bad breath spent 10 minutes hooking up the electrodes to my body. I almost gagged his breath was that bad. I'm all hooked up and ready for sleep and he gives me 10 more minutes of paperwork to fill out. They finally let me sleep at 11pm. I wake up to use the bathroom at 3am. I have to buzz them, get disconnected and walk a long way through the building carrying wires to a bathroon. When I get back to my bed the A/C turns on and off for the next two hours and is loud. I can hear them talking in the next room the whole time. Light shines through the door and the noises made no sleep possible. When I buzz them again to ask them to stop talking in the next room at 5am they tell me, "oh, you're done. you can go now" I slept less than 3 hours there. This place is totally disorganized and unprofessional. I had this study done 30 years ago and it was easy, organized. quiet and professional. This place is the opposite. Find another sleep lab for your own health and well being. read more

Total Fraud for Insurance companies and Kaiser. Wore for 6 hrs first night taped to my cheeks, told only got 4 1/2 hr reading (not enough) second night I only slept 41/2 hrs and I was told only 11/2 hours of data. They wanted me to retest so I did. when they called for retest I asked if I had any episodes in the 4 1/2 hrs of data, gave me bull story, there was not enough data and could not determine anything. 4 1/2 hours of data and they could not make any kind of determination. Total Insurance scam and Kaiser had to pay twice. I can't wait to hear what they have to say about 2 complete nights of Data. Curious what they bill Kaiser for the test ? read more

had my 3rd Sleep therapy on Monday, my Sleep Technician name was Paul.. he explained everything I was to expect, and what he was doing to streamline my test, he gave me so much information I now know after 10 years the importance of the proper equipment, and the risks and benefits of having a proper study.... All the personnel I talked with where extremely helpful. This included the preparations - coordinating the delivery of the equipment and later coordinating the actual date of the test and return of the equipment, the day I started the test they were excellent in assisting in my understanding of hardware recording my results, After returning all the equipment for analysis, Jenny was extremely polite to help me determine the status of the results. Incompetent. Scheduled, then canceled the sleep study because the director and staff could not measure bed height. Does that appear to be the most ridiculous thing you ever read? It's a fact. I am paraplegic and I need to make a safe transfer from my wheelchair. The second conversation from this young lady was "the bed is a standard height" and "we recommend bringing a care-giver to help get you in and out of bed." Not necessary if I know what the bed height is! I told them where to purchase a tape measure or use an 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of paper to find the measurement. The third call from them was to say they were not equipped to help me. Then, Georgia called me this morning to set another appointment. What? Where is the communication? Don't use their home testing kit. It's a ripoff. All it seems to confirm is whether you have sleep apnea or not. After you take that test, they'll ask you to come in person for a sleep study to determine what type of CPAP you need. So the home test is a major waste of time and money (thousands charged to your insurance, plus a couple hundred out of pocket) if you know you're already pretty sure you have sleep apnea. read more

I tried to do the at home sleep study but after less than an hour I had to take it off because I was having trouble breathing. I sent it back and told them I couldn't do it. Well they told Kaiser that I used it for 3 hours and that I had sleep apnea. I have had sleep apnea for 25 years and during that time have been referred to a number of sleep labs for updated sleep studies. Sunset Sleep Labs is by far the best. The facility is state-of-the-art and my sleeping area was set up like a comfortable bedroom. The administrative staff before and after were friendly, supportive and thoroughly professional - - especially Deanne, who coordinated my study. Finally, my technician (Paul Malone) was incredible. He knew I was apprehensive because I had a bad experience years ago and he explained things in a way that made me comfortable and was incredibly helpful throughout the process. He rocks! I had my sleep study at sunset on 3/25/18 and it was a relaxing pleasant experience. Maia was my sleep technician and did a great job. She was polite and knew what she was doing. She was bouncing between two other people and my appointment was at 10 pm and got to sleep by 11:15ish. It takes time do do all paper work and get hooked up and ready for bed. As for scheduling, I had no issues with Jennifer or Elinore. They emailed me the paper work scheduled an appointment within 5 days. I did try scheduling back in October the previous year, but that was because my insurance was the problem. This was my 4th sleep study so I knew what to expect. Overall this was one of the best in the area. Beds were very comfy too read more
