I did my first (and I can only assume last) sleep study last night. I am 1000000% awful at remembering peoples names, but the gentleman with the UK accent.. excellent. You can only hope you have him during your stay. He was informative, respectful, patient, intelligent, and welcoming. Very clean & comfortable bed. Helpful tips: - When you arrive, you'll enter through a private office, don't expect a waiting room or lobby. - if you bring your own pillow, use a pillow case you don't care about... the grease stuff they put in your hair to hold the sensors will leave you a present on your pillow. - I was given this advice by said male above, but don't shampoo your hair after until you comb the grease through. read more

That review resulted in a prompt call from Sunset and a subsequent appointment. Apparently the phone number they received from my PCP was incorrect. My experience post original review would have rated a 4 star review, the person I spoke with was great and explained everything clearly however, because of my original experience I could only give 3 stars but would recommend Sunset Labs. read more

My dentist recommend I get a sleep study done because of some sleep issues I was having. He sent over my information and was contacted by Sunset Sleep for an at home sleep study. Everything went fine with the test, the instructions were easy enough to understand and I was able to use the machine. But afterward I didn't hear anything from them, for weeks. I finally called and left a message and didn't hear back so I called my dentist. My dentist told me that they sent over the results and I didn't have sleep apnea and that's it. I paid out of pocket for just that? I didn't even get a call back. Eventually, I went into my dentist for something else and asked him about the results for the Sleep Study and he went over them with me. They were faxed over or copied and barely legible. Some of it wasn't legible at all. Terrible quality fax or copy. And there were other things that came up on the results that were concerning that I feel like Sunset Sleep should have been responsible with going over with me?? At least a phone call or email regarding the results would have been nice. Aren't they the experts? I felt I was brushed off by Sunset Sleep and I would not recommend this place. I had my overnight sleep study in the Tarzana facility last night. At every step, from the referral by Kaiser, to the appointment, and finally the study itself, Sunset Sleep Labs has been exceptional. I am an RN and can, at times, be a bit hard on care providers knowing the "best" way healthcare should be approached. Sunset Sleep hit the mark, and to quote the metaphor, "knocked it out of the park." As a clinician, when it comes to my own care, I hear all too often, "You're a nurse, you already know this, so we'll move on." Not so with this provider. Dan, the Sleep Technologist, let me "be a patient" and ask the questions and address my concerns in a calm, reassuring, empathetic, and professional manner. I couldn't be happier with the process, and though, yes, I do have Sleep Apnea that needs to be treated, this important step was handled beautifully. Great job, Sunset Sleep Labs. read more

I have no idea how they are during an actual sleep study. All I know is their office is a mess. My first referral lapsed because they delayed so long in processing me. The second referral got lost in their insurance department processing. They said they faxed stuff to my doctor office when they never did. Nobody would call or email me back after a while. My experience at the Culver City Lab was fine. The technician Christian was very nice and accommodating. However, the room I was in was very dusty and it was uncomfortable to be there overnight. The worst part is dealing with their administrative staff, particularly David in the billing department. I expressed my frustration to him about being shocked to have a balance due for my copay a month and a half after my sleep study. I received a plethora of paperwork before the study to complete. One document clearly stated the entire cost would be paid by my insurance. Needless to say, I was shocked to find out I owed them money way after the fact for a copay that is normally collected when services are rendered. I expressed my frustration in my email, but clearly stated I would pay the balance due. David sent me an unprofessional and condescending email in response telling me I had to pay. Seriously? I clearly said I would pay already! Have they forgotten that we are in the middle of a pandemic and this was an unexpected expense? Sunset, please take a look at your internal procedures and train your staff on customer service skills if they deal with patients in any capacity. You need to do better. read more

The place was tidy and efficient and had underground parking. Paul was knowledgeable and helped educate me about the condition I was having researched as well as next steps. Post-results, Sunset has been super-helpful in getting me information I need when even my GP wasn't providing updates in a timely manner. read more

The one star is because the technician was nice. The rest was awful. The sleep lab is a dank office that makes Motel 6 look like the Ritz. It's hard to sleep when you can hear other people getting fitted for their tests. They wake you up at 5am even if you are sleeping well. I would compare the sleep quality to that of a red eye. Short and crappy. And the kicker to all this is the aggressive follow up for procedures that were not prescribed. My doctor prescribed a CPAP to me. It's setting are calculated automatically. I was told by my doctor I would not have to go back Sunset Sleep. After my results came back they called me to schedule another appointment before my doctor had even reviewed the results. I told them I'd rather speak to my doctor first. After I spoke with him And he prescribed a CPAP then they called and told me to schedule an appointment for another overnight test to get the machine customized. My doctor didn't prescribe that apportionment with them because the machines automatically get set. But that didn't stop them from calling multiple times. I think they looked at my results and called me based on reviewing my data. That's not right. They lied and said it was what my doctor prescribed but it's not. I don't trust these folks. I think they run a gross lab and have grosser business practices. Time to put this business to sleep. read more

Sleeping overnight at some facility was something I was absolutely dreading, but it turned out to be absolutely fine -- in fact I had a wonderful night's sleep. First of all, Deanne in charge of patient scheduling was extremely kind and considerate, constantly communicated with me, and went above and beyond to assist me getting an earlier appointment when I needed one. She also followed up with me afterwards to see how I was and to make sure I scheduled a follow-up appointment with my doctor. That kind of top notch treatment is something you sadly don't see anymore these days. She is awesome. My sleep technician Paul Malone was equally fantastic. His years of experience and vast knowledge on the subject were evident from the second I arrived. His very direct, yet extremely friendly and informative briefing (in a soothingly thick Liverpool accent) completely put me at ease and made me feel much more knowledgeable then when I had entered. I felt in good hands. As for the facility itself, it was like a hotel room. A bed, cable tv, no complaints. If you park there over night, the underground garage is locked so you have to use the security phone by the gate to call for them to open it. You also have to use the security phone inside to open the doors to get to the elevators. I anticipated a nightmare of an experience yet slept like a baby. I'd recommend this place anytime, especially if the two people cited above are involved. read more

Very nice people. I really don't know what to say since I was asleep most of the time. Obviously they're doing their job right because I flunked out on two sleep tests and had to do with third with a ASV unit rather than CPAP or BiPAP. That's working great. That tells me they are thorough diligent and professional, as well as pleasant. read more

Don't use their home testing kit. It's a ripoff. All it seems to confirm is whether you have sleep apnea or not. After you take that test, they'll ask you to come in person for a sleep study to determine what type of CPAP you need. So the home test is a major waste of time and money (thousands charged to your insurance, plus a couple hundred out of pocket) if you know you're already pretty sure you have sleep apnea. read more

Sleep study here was very thorough and the nurse here was super nice. The hours you have to sleep and wake here are a little extreme but Im super grateful insurance covered this and it even exists. The place was very clean and comfortable. You can park in the structure here for free. read more

Jackie was extremely nice and accommodating. The entire facility was clean and quiet, I can't say enough great things about this location.

It was so disappointing to see how unclean the room was. You could see the build up of dust in all the counters and in the bed. How could a place like this not clean on a daily basis, specially if you have patients that might be potentially impacted with asthma or other breathing conditions. I asked the rep if he can ask, response after asking was that they bring someone every 2 months to clean. Didn't know when was the last time. IñMy daughter had a sleep study Saturday night, we didn't make it past 30 mins until I decide to go home. I expected more from them, if the owner reads this please look into this, the quality of care needs to upgrade. read more

My husband had several Sleep Studies done but never one so thorough and complete as the one he had with Sunset in Tarzana. Paul was completely professional and full of valuable information. The room was comfortable and very clean. The lab report was very informative and his doctor was able to plan for his care going forward as a result. I was able to stay the night with him as well. While I can't say I got much sleep at this lab, I will say the technician was very nice and carefully explained the procedure to me. I was literally covered from head to toe with wires and sensors. You may not sleep well when you spend the night here, but you will treated with patience and respect by the people who work here. You may even learn why your so tired. read more
