we enjoyed our experience. we came for pasta: one puttanesca and one spaghetti with sausage links. delicious flavors along with the accompanying bread. the puttanesca is heavy on the anchovies. as someone reviewed previously the spaghetti sauce was watery but when brought to the chef's attention he fixed it right up! next night we got a large pizza with 3 toppings and a chicken parm sandwich. the pizza was great but the sandwich bread was not so good. a nice salad accompanied the sandwich that had very good chicken. we got this order to go and the sandwich plate had two sandwiches. i saved one for the next day but only ate the chicken. tasty. service is great! comfortable with highway view or secluded towards the rear. i would recommend coming here. servings are good size. both meals came to $50+ read more

What a find!! We were enjoying our friends band, 3 Chord Kings at Mother's Tavern, and got hungry. Across the alley about 40 feet from door to door is this Italian place. I asked a local in Mother's if it was any good, he replied "effing yes it's great". That was enough for me. In between sets we enjoyed pasta with spinach, mushrooms, and olives. I tried the Italian Trio. This is three small portions of Chicken Parm, Fettuccine Alfredo, and meat lasagna. Off the charts explains the meal. The service is great, and the vibe is small, local, beach cool. I can't give it 6 stars, but I would. We shall return for what we see is yummy looking pizza. This place is a little hole in the wall - very small beach town vibe. Cute. Went with the hubby and a few friends. Friend ordered the veal (apparently last piece of it they had) but when it came, they had prepared the veal alla limone - not the way he'd ordered it - but we didn't say anything as we already knew it was the last piece of veal. He said it was "fine." My pasta had lots of great toppings like sun dried tomatoes, sausage, and olives but...all the toppings sunk to the bottom and the penne was flavorless unless I made sure to spear some toppings. My husband tried the spaghetti with meat sauce and it was so watery - again, nothing stuck to the pasta. The bottom of his bowl looked like light red water...a lot of it. Meh. My other friend said the pizza was good. She also had a salad which looked fine - nothing special. The bill for four people - no appetizers, no alcohol, no dessert? $121 + tip. So...not cheap. The quality did not live up to this price. I won't be back. read more

I was craving pizza after getting stung by a stingray twice at the nearby beach and we ended up coming here. The service was amazing and the ambiance made me feel right at home. What a rare place this is... Has that small mom n pop feel to it, feels warm and welcoming without all the flash and glamour of today's corporate food chains. The walls aren't covered in Frank Sinatra photos trying to convince you how Italian it is. The chef cooks the food right there in front of you on a burner that's seen a million plates of pasta. A splash of this a pinch of that a few stirs here a few stirs there all while slicing and dicing onions and tomatoes like clockwork. Not a measuring cup or automated cookware in sight. Just a man, a knife and spoon. I highly recommend this place for a nice quiet dinner or relaxing date night. read more

Looking for great pizza and pasta in the Huntington Beach area? This is the place! Incredible food at a very reasonable price. The owners are the cooks, so you know the food is going to be top notch. We recently moved back to SoCal. A good local secret. This has been our go to pizza for more than a decade, even when we retired north to Sonora, CA, we would return for dinner when checking on our local rentals. The food is very good, the best hot bread for dipping Vino/oil up front in OC, great friendly service, a small room with one large booth, numerous tables and a counter bar w/ five stools where one can watch the chefgs prepare your meal while enjoying the hot bread. Be sure to check out the suggestions on the chalkboard above the booth. Parking is limited but usually plenty of parking along PCH and 1 very short block behind the restaurant. I happened to mention the hot bread to a waiter at another Italian restaurant nearby, who served us a couple of cold breads with frozen butter. My wife and I stopped in for an early dinner the other day. This is actually the place where we had our first date so many years ago. Not too many things have changed in the year since. The food is still as good as ever, and the seating is as small and cramped as ever, we had traffic service! Young lady took great care of us. For starters we open with their toasted ravioli and an adult beverage. They were OK, never having them before. My wife and I split a small carnivore pizza. It was a little greasy. I tried the penne Al pimento and my husband got the tortellini Rosato. It was good but I felt like my pasta lacked some flavor and my husbands rosato sauce had a unique flavor we weren't fond of. The restaurant is super tiny with barely any room to move. But it seemed like they had a lot of regulars there. So that's always a good sign! Not sure that we would go back. read more

We ordered a to go pizza and pasta. It came with bread which was a bonus we didn't know we needed plus the girls working gave us ample Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes. The margarita pizza was literally insane and I want to live there for it. We got a pasta and we didn't love it as much just because of the way the sauce sat on top so we didn't have any flavor except there and mixing wasn't super easy in the box. We ordered pizza from Sunset Pizza to take out on our Duffy Boat ride and I will say this was some of the best pizza I think I've had in a while. The crust was perfect! Crispy and had a great flavor. The pizza sauce was homemade and not from a jar. We ordered a pepperoni and pineapple and a pepperoni and sausage pizza and two side salads and everything was "just right".
