The park is dedicated to Shelby County's veterans that died in war. I have been here for their annual Trunk O Treat. The park has tons of free parking and They have a couple of restroom structures, one by the baseball field, one by the soccer field, and one by the splash pad. The park has a dedicated soccer area and is home to the Blue River Soccer Association. There is about 6 to 8 fields over there. And As I mentioned, A restroom facility. There are 4 very nice and well maintained baseball fields in this park with an announcers/media booth and restroom facility. Each field is uniquely named after a different person. The park also has a large shelter that is available to rent. There is a small grill outside of the shelter and a bunch of picnic tables under it. You will find some green areas to picnic, rest, fly a kite, play catch or other activities. The park could use a bit better playground. It has a bank of old style swings, a see-saw, a pyramid rope net climber, and a large jungle gym with a small rock climbing wall and a bunch of slides. The ground in the area is covered with mulch. There is a nice looking dog park at the front of the park and by the soccer fields. I can not speak to it though because I did not pay it a visit. That is the same story for the splash pad. I saw it, and it looked decent, but it was shut down for the season when I was there. The parks trails are awesome. They are nicely paved and even have porta pottys along the route. It seems to be popular among the dog walking enthusiast. There are a few things that you may miss at the parking if you don't know what you are looking for like it's 20 acres of quail and butterfly habitat on its south side and it NCAA cross country course. All in all a decent park, but you will only find it useful if there is something specific that you want to like play soccer, run/walk the trail, or play baseball. The playground could use some more equipment.

There is a playground and baseball diamond here with a shelter and restrooms conveniently located nearby. The Little Blue River runs along the opposite side of the road, so it is easy to cross over via a metal bridge that spans just below a mini-waterfall (about a foot or two). Because the water flows quickly through here, swimming and wading is prohibited. The park needed some trash pickup and hopefully the maintenance crews took care of it after mowing (better if they did it before hand!) Sadly, it is a shame that people can't be bothered to throw away their own waste. It makes the park less enjoyable for those who come by later. Review #861

The park has shelters and multiple walking trails, which gives you options depending on how far you want to go. I noticed people taking family pictures at this park. One of the highlights was the water along the trail which adds a really pretty, calming touch to the scenery. The weather was decent temperature but a bit gloomy the day we went, and there were a lot of leaves on the trail. We didn't check the map and just kind of winged it, so parts of the trail were hard to follow because the leaves covered the path, but it wasn't an issue. Overall, we enjoyed the walk, the quiet surroundings, and the chance to bond while taking in what nature has to offer.

The park maintains several natural habitats including a pond, wetland, prairie and Buck Creek. The setting is perfect for bird watching, hiking, running, walking the dog or enjoying a sunset. The six shelters can be reserved (rented) for parties, meetings, picnics for $135 for residents of Marion County or $160 for non-residents. The naturalist center/classroom can also be reserved during certain months. There are lots of picnic tables available on first come basis. There is a bathroom facility available in the warmer months. The naturalists run special educational programs throughout the year including summer day camps for the kids, a bug festival, maple syrup tapping in late winter and hayrides in the fall. The Park will be hosting eclipse viewing on April 8. I was visiting the Master Naturalist Class, a but also took my dog on a nice walk. The park is open dawn til dusk and worth a visit. Plan on spending a couple hours. Be sure to bring your bug repellent.

Yes, there are multiple shelters and there was a small playground, but the condition of the wood on the baseball dugouts and a mini shelter by the playgrounds were worn and needed some attention. The park is flat with a gravel driveway that leads back on the north end with no clearly designated parking area (If it is like my hometown, folks probably pull off onto the grass.) That's okay as long as it doesn't rain. All the playground surfaces were stone based which aren't the most kid friendly surfaces available either. I think that the park could just use some TLC and a bit of cash to improve the condition of some of the pieces I've mentioned. Having seen parks all across central Indiana, I've seen how great a park can be when it is important to the community to view it as an asset. Review #863

This is the only community park in Morristown, and it's actually a little bit north of town over the hump where the railroad tracks are, and you will see it on your left side, and cornfields to the right, ha. There is a children's play ground area, a soccer field, softball field, golf driving range, public restrooms, and power hookups at various locations. There are lots of open flat grass areas for all types of other fun activities. There are 3 shelters that include; charcoal grill, picnic tables, lights and power. There is an Amphitheater / stage that is great for live bands, as there is plenty of grass seating in front of the stage area that will accommodate many people. Park Shelters are available for rent: $50 per day with a $25 refundable damage deposit. $50 per day for use of the Amphitheater Stage area per day with a $25 refundable damage deposit. No charge to County organizations for shelter but a $25 refundable damage deposit is required. Donations from the local Veterans keep the park looking great. The park is open from dawn until dusk daily, and free to use the amenities during those hours. There is also a concession stand that sells snacks during special events such as league softball games. There is plenty of parking off the driveways in the grassy areas. I have been here for large parties with live bands, catered in food, drinks, etc and it was a great time!
