I highly recommend this company. John was incredibly responsive. He called within minutes of my…read morerequest and was able to come out same day for the repairs. He swapped out a leaky sink faucet with a new one, which he ran out and bought himself, saving me a trip to the store. He also replaced our old, degrading water lines. He also fixed our leaky toilet by changing out the flushing mechanism. He completed both projects same day, and was very reasonably priced. I would call him again.

This time it wasn't the…read morecat getting into mischief--it was a large shelf in our closet giving way after thirty-one years of faithful service. To its credit, the old wire system had lasted decades. But what followed was not just a replacement--it was a complete transformation. We're now standing in a custom-built white oak closet designed and executed by JJ Palmer, and it's one of the finest examples of residential craftsmanship we've ever encountered. Every detail has been carried out with extraordinary care and quiet precision. The workmanship doesn't shout--but it absolutely sings. You see it in every cut and corner. Trim lines are crisp and flush, hand-scribed to imperfect walls so precisely that they seem to have grown there rather than been added. Shelf edges are finished so carefully that all end grain is hidden, and the face grain flows seamlessly across components. Even the angled shoe shelves--normally utilitarian--are grain-matched and gracefully proportioned, elevating function to quiet elegance. The layout itself reveals a deep understanding of proportion and geometry: verticals and horizontals are aligned across bays with rhythmic consistency; trim widths are uniform; spacing feels intentional and calming. Every inch of the system--from the sloped shoe racks to the deeper bay for long dresses and luggage--feels purposeful, balanced, and beautifully made. Nothing is extraneous. It's the kind of design that honors both material and use. JJ selected the materials with a discerning eye: knot-free white oak with straight, harmonious grain, installed in ways that bring out its natural beauty rather than compete with it. Even before stain was applied, the woodwork had presence and refinement. Once finished in a light weathered gray, the result was timeless, tactile, and visually integrated with the rest of the space--including our flooring and natural light conditions. What truly sets JJ apart, though, is not just his technical ability: it's his ethos. We've worked with him before, on projects ranging from a bathroom remodel to a full basement build-out, and each time, he brings the same consistency of quality, professionalism, and quiet pride in his work. He listens well, offers thoughtful solutions, and always delivers what he promises without shortcuts, excuses, or ego. In a world where true craftsmanship often feels like a relic, JJ Palmer is the real thing. We recommend Maryland Home Improvement Company without hesitation, and with deep appreciation

He took the time to explain everything and came to my house a few times prior to the job to go over what I wanted. This job exceeded my expectations. The guys Tony has working for him, including his son, are so polite. They cleaned up everyday before they left and when the job was complete everything looked great. I look forward to working with these guys again for my deck.

The contractor is run by an older, old-fashioned Italian father who is truly a professional and…read moreruns a highly experienced concrete construction company. Mr. Purrazello, the father, does not cut corners and is the type of contractor to show the job, explain what you want, listen closely to what he says, agree on the work scope, award the job, then walk away. He's going to deliver a five-star product, and more importantly with concrete, will likely stand the test of time; and, he won't cut corners. These characteristics of integrity, professionalism, knowledge of the industry, dependability, and honoring one's word is rare today. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending how you look at it, this firm is unlikely to be a low bid. But, as I discovered from working with them just one time, it's a company you can trust. That's old-fashioned. Not cutting corners, again old-fashioned. My experience is that these traits of high quality and fulfilling one's commitment are unusual in today's residential construction marketplace. I was astute enough in talking with the father to recognize he was a true, professional Craftsman and to trust his decisions. Now I am left with a backyard patio, in which everyone who sees it says, it's absolutely beautiful! It came out much nicer than I expected and originally called for; and, I am appreciative for it. Going into the project, I simply wanted a basic slab-on-grade patio with a few engineered features that was low cost. What was delivered was a beautiful, constructed better-than-originally-designed, backyard patio. My advice on this contractor to the General Public is: if this firm gives you a price and they are close to your budget, hire them immediately and look no further. Additionally, if you don't want to roll the dice and play games with most residential concrete contractors, simply agree on a work scope and price with this firm then sole source award the job to them. They won't let you down. Why? Because these characteristics of high quality and integrity are very unusual amongst residential contractors, in my experience and opinion. In closing, I must mention that unless the son Joey bid the work as was done in my case, it was likely the only way Purrazello could have won the work. The father and the sons (Joey & Matt) are tremendous craftsmen and I wish them all the best going forward. Again, thank you Purrazello & Sons for a most excellent job! Take care.

Anthony was a fantastic communicator leading up to the Big Day, Then there was a big work crew and everyone was skilled and professional. I was really surprised at how thoroughly they cleaned up afterward. There was literally no evidence left behind, not a single nail or wood scrap. They even repositioned my deck furniture perfectly. I highly recommend them!

I completed…read morea Google review of its performance and Michael Grapp gave me 3 pages of nonsense that I can not read. EC/Grapp put a roof on my home 19-20 years. There were no offers of coming out to evaluate the roof after years of instillation. Dece 2022 I called EC as the roof was leaking with rain water landing in bathroom sink. There was an indentation in the above beam, but since roof was not actively leaking, I didn't worry. At that time, EC was in the attic and did not say there were any problems Dece 2023 the roof began to leak again in the same spot. I not only called EC, but I called my insurance company, Encompass who is now ghosting me. I noticed a wet spot/puddle under my basement stairs. I noted this occurrence to EC and the insurance company. EC came and was to repair the old area from Dece 2022 and investigate the new area over the doorway. Insurance had an insurance adjuster come and state the roof was improperly installed and I would need a new roof. Are you kidding? Encompass states that they will not aid in the repair or replacement and I am stuck with the bill. In January 2024 with the cold, the dryers are drying my home and we had to purchase 2 heaters and pray. As the rain came, I was sitting underneath a covered area. Rain drops were hitting the plastic! I called EC and they sent a representative out; it was still raining and he couldn't go outside to exam the roof, but went into the attic. He stated that the second area that I complained about-along the ridge vent was leaking. I told him it couldn't be leaking as my invoice stated it was replaced; he said and it was listed that the ridge vent along the initial and repeated area over the bathroom was replace. What am I to do? I purchased 3 tarps for which Michael Grapp is claiming his company purchased-I have the Home Depot receipts and my son went on the roof to put tarp over this ridge vent. Some dropped the ball! I have called, I am irritated and ashamed that I told people to have EC install their roof. Grapp states I should have had the roof examined, as he whines and tells lies about my interactions with EC. The kicker is, I haven't heard from him about the roof since it was installed!! Oh, by the way, another roofer stated the same assessment conducted by the insurance adjuster; rotting wood, rotting wood beams, mold, expanding nail holes. EC examined the roof and came up with nothing. I am sending this info to the better business bureau and the MHCA. I couldn't read the garbage written by Grapp, but most owners when wrong will make up lies on clients to make them look good. The proof is in the pudding and the photos-they don't lie! Jacquie P.
