We needed a place to stay on the way from Los Angeles to Seattle. Made a reservation through Expedia. For a more budget motel, it wasn't bad. The front desk clerk was helpful and efficient and asked if we wanted smoking or non-smoking. We said non-smoking, as far away from the smoking rooms as possible. We got room 107 which was fine. For an older property it looks like the owners are trying to make the rooms nice. The room was clean and had all of the amenities one would expect, including coffee maker, microwave, and flat screen TV. Wi-Fi was included and there was no problem using it. Bathroom was clean for the most part. For the price it was a half step up from Motel 6. Here are some suggestions: Front desk really needs a computer check in system. Although we booked through Expedia, the clerk had to go into another room to find the reservation, then used his phone to look it up. Things are done in a notebook. Most places today don't cater to smokers because of the inherent problems with cigarette smoke. If you're going to have a place for people to smoke, don't put it right next to your rooms. The air conditioner was louder that it should have been, and the vents were partially broken off. The grout in the shower surround needed some attention. And while every place describes a "continental" breakfast, this could be much improved. Coffee and juice were available, but no milk. English muffins and pre-packaged Danish pastries are all you get. There's also no place to sit down to eat...you take it back to your room. The grounds were well maintained and clean as was the pool. Bed wasn't bad but personally I prefer something a bit more firm. The light shades had been re-done but looked a little shabby as the decorations were coming unglued. Being a non-refundable reservation is NOT a good thing! Lastly, it would be nice to provide a little nicer soap and shampoo, and don't hook up the microwave to a light switch! read more
