We rented a small boat to cruise around Oxnard harbor recently. Twelve people in our party, adults and kids. All of us fit comfortably. They do allowed alcohol, foods and drinks on the boat. All of us complemented how clean and new the boat was. Also how fast we were able to go around the harbor. A lot of nice homes to look at and not to mentioned the seals that were so loud! Yes, so much fun!! Reservation online was easy and the staff was really nice. They also rent out other equipment as well, SUP, jet ski, kayaks and other stuff. Just check them out on their website. Our rental was for two hours and it went by pretty fast. But two hours is all you need and really that's plenty of time. Next time I would order from Toppers Pizzas. The restaurant was so closed by and easy for everyone. Would I recommend this to others....absolutely!!! read more

My family and I enjoyed a fun-filled day through the Channel Island Harbor. For only $60/hr., we rented an electric boat and cruises through the harbor. The gentlemen that helped us were both friendly and courteous. The booking process online was easy, and Rob was attentive; timely responses through email. They have 2 electric boats for rental; 1 or 2 hours. The boats can fit 8 or 10 people; depending on which one you book due to your group size. You're also able to bring food and drinks on board; yes that includes alcohol. However, no red wine though. This was a special reservation as it was my best friends birthday. We took along our families & made a reservations with Phil 1-2 weeks in advance. (He returned my calls right away). Keep in mind they are closed on Tuesdays. This was a good experience especially for the kids! We packed a cooler full of sandwiches, burritos, waters & more and enjoyed a couple hours out on a 10 passenger boat. It was FUN!! The boat was clean & accommodating. We didn't quite know where "Dock D" was located as this was our first time renting a boat but a gentleman who worked for Sunset Cruises, who was down the ramp center where the boats were located, was happy to unlock the gate for us. Summary: 1/28/2021 - I emailed to make a reservation for an 8 passenger electric boat on 1/30 and Phil called within an hour to assist me that. 8 passenger boats were already booked so a 10 passenger boat was booked instead. Phil was super helpful and the whole booking process was smooth sailing. (Pun intended) 1/30/2021 - It was a beautiful day and Rob was there in neon green top (good for standing out) and was also super helpful getting my friend and I ready for some cruising. It was only my 2nd time within 10 years driving a boat but Rob instructed and explained easily and thoroughly on how to's. The basics, the map, the rules, etc... Fastest and best lesson on driving a boat. My friend and I had the best time and the weather was perfect and thankfully not that many people/boats present so that I can navigate easily. I had the greatest experience with this company! I have rented boats from Rob and Phill in the past. They will go out of their way to make sure your experience is better than anticipated.. Rob (one of the owners) is so kind and thoughtful ! You will see him working hard with a green shirt and hat on. When I rented a boat from him with my senior parents, He went out of his way to help accommodate and assist them who were in wheel chairs/walkers. I appreciate that they follow health and safety guidelines and keep their boats sanitizes and clean. It is very hard to run a business during COVID restrictions, but the owners of this company take all precautions and follow the rules. I highly recommend this company. We brought our own snacks and drinks. They had a life vest for our 3 year old to wear during the ride. My son got to see seals m, jelly fish, and sting rays. This was such a great adventure! We wanted to book a gondola ride but they said they were booked for the time we needed. They were kind enough to recommend Sunset Cruise Boat rentals and we were able to rent an electric boat and drive it around the harbor ourselves. It was so perfect for our group of 4 adults and a 3 year old and a 6 year old. A real bonus is that it had a canopy to keep the hot sun off our heads. We were given a map of where we could go and very good instructions on how to operate the boat. We saw a sea lion basking on a dock and cruised around all the pretty houses. The big bonus was there are a gazillion moon jellyfishes! I've never seen one let alone got to touch one before. Rob, the guy we booked with said no one knows why the jellyfish just suddenly appeared as they did about 5 years ago(?). 8 of us jumped onto one of the electric cruisers for an hour trip over to the main harbor area and back. Great opportunity to see some sea lions swimming up close and to check out all of the boats and properties in the channel. Boat was great and easy to maneuver for a novice. Rob was helpful in pointing out all of the features and how to enjoy our hour cruise. Everyone had a good time and I would recommend Rob's boats anytime. Beautiful day on the water. I was on the internet looking for boat rentals in Ventura, and Sunset Cruise Boat Rentals came up with beautiful pictures on his website. He rents kayaks and electric boats. They are clean, beautiful, and have plenty of room to sit. It was just 3 of us, so we rented the 8/pax boat for 1 hour at 3pm on a Sunday in September. The weather couldn't have been more perfect, the water is calm, and it was so nice relaxing through the harbor. Rob's assistant, Phil, explained everything, and there was an easy-to-read map of the Harbor, and waters stocked in the boat. Such a delightful way to escape the heat or the boredom of running errands each weekend!!!! I think his hours are 12n-8p, but change for the seasons, not sure. We will be back! read more
