What a fun experience my husband and I had on a Saturday afternoon celebrating a weekend get away. The two guys that helped us were top notch. They explained everything in detail to us. We were allowed to bring food and champagne on board. We rented and paid for two hours to drive around the canals enjoying the homes and boats/yachts. We went over the time limit a little but they did not charge us for being 10 minutes late. Thank you. I highly recommend Hopper Boat Rentals for a very fun time. read more

Hopper Boat Rentals is a great place to rent in the Channel Island Harbor. They have a variety of water activities at a very reasonable price. I called about a week in advance to make a reservation for an electric boat. Upon arriving, the check in process was smooth and the staff was friendly. We were on the boat in no time. Riding around the marina in the boat was fantastic and overall it was a great time. If you're in the area and need water rentals definitely check them out. read more

We rented a small Duffy from Hopper Boat Rentals in Oxnard, and had a wonderful time! The whole process was smooth and easy from start to finish. The staff provided great service and made sure everything was ready to go. The boat was really easy to drive, even for beginners. Always easy, super friendly. Have rented multiple times over the years . Just call ahead , get a time and it's super easy . Show up , pay . You can bring your own cooler and food . We have stopped at Toppers on the water midway. Great choice read more

OK, this place is GREAT for rentals! We called last minute, a couple hours before, and they were able to accommodate our reservation. What a great way to get out and see the Harbor! We made reservations for a Sunday afternoon and upon arrival, we were instantly taken care of. Life jackets for the littles, and a quick tutorial for driving the boat and we were off! We cruised the Oxnard Harbor for an hour. The cost was $75 (up to 8) per hour. An hour went quick and next time we would go for 2 hours. Lots to see while cruising along. Our kids loved seeing the seals and waving to boats. Nothing like a nice day on the water. Hopper's staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and will be back to explore more of the harbor. read more

We were so happy with our electric boat rental!! We called ahead to reserve the small one for 4 of us + our little dog-it seats up to 8 for $75/hour. No deposit required... Was a perfect day for putting around the harbor! The boat only goes like 5 mph haha! Very comfortable! We brought some drinks and munchies too! Lost track of time and while we went a little over 2 hrs he only charged us for the 2 I am definitely returning! They have everything here! Hydra bikes, kayaks, large electric boats that seats up to 12 bringing tge whole family next time yesss! read more

5 stars fir Carlos he outfitted our large group with a combination of double and single kayaks. We had a great time, the dock is very easy to push off from, the life jackets fit fine and the boats are smooth and easy to navigate. They are not strict about the time either and you can go a little over without incurring extra charges. They also have maps for newbs. read more

We took the big electric boat out on our last vacation, and it was so much fun! My gf booked the reservation and paid for it online via phone. Such a relaxing time with multiple families fitting on one boat! The kids all got life jackets and we got the two hour journey. Rented a small electric boat for a group of 7 girls. Service was friendly from beginning to end. We were allowed to bring alcohol on our boat and they even loaned us a small speaker so we could play music. Good prices and we were able to ride around the Seabridge Marina. 3 months of non stop work; " Will I have a career after this"? I have been working non stop and the only happiness outside of my apt and gallery is officially Hopper. Today was the first time in 3 months I left to have a 'good time'. Thank you to ARBI on yelp to give me heads up Ventura county opened up. This place has always (for 13 years) been a home away from home for me. Everyone was so nice upon our arrival; they always are. They didn't skip a beat with their hospitality. We had a great afternoon in the Channel Islands Harbor, tooting around in our rented electric boat. It was a great deal. We brought a bbq lunch on board with us. We were also allowed to bring alcohol and a dog if we wanted to! We had such a great time we wanted to rent it for another hour, but their schedule was booked. The boat was very easy to drive and the friendly staff gave us detailed directions and a map for our journey. We had a fabulous time and were already planning our next trip. read more

A friend of ours rented one of the electric boats here at Hopper Boat Rentals for his dogs 7th birthday party. Four adults and 5 canines boarded the boat with snacks and drinks hoping for a good time and boy did we have a blast! The boat was quiet and smooth running and the dogs adjusted quickly to being out on the water and settled right in as if they'd been boat dogs all of their lives. If you are looking for something fun and relaxing to do on the harbor with friends or furry friends I highly recommend! My dogs gave it two paws up! We went for an early boat ride with the family and grandkids, and the one hour ride was perfect. We picked up snacks at the donut shop around the corner (Spudnuts) and enjoyed them during the ride. Hopper was AWESOME!!! We rented a motor boat and they allowed us to take our year old german shepherd Nobu with us. Nobu LOVED it. Love this Family owned business! We rented a paddle boat for a reasonable rate of $25 per hour. Even with just 1 hour , we were able to peddle around most of the channel island harbor. Staff was very nice and helpful. We were allowed to bring food and drinks on board. perfect date on a sunny day. Views were amazing and peaceful. Hopper Boat Rentals has been an established business at the Channel Islands Harbor for over 15-years and as of April 2019 the business is now under new ownership. The new owners both grew up in Oxnard and are very excited to be part of the Channel Islands Harbor community. I recommend getting in line early to secure the best view seating on the ferry. Our kayak guides, Chuck and Adam, were exceptional--knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They made the entire trip both fun and informative, while ensuring we always felt safe and well cared for. We were fortunate to have perfect weather and warm water, which allowed us to explore all seven sea caves--many of which are inaccessible during high tide or rougher conditions. It made the experience even more special. Having lived in Santa Barbara for 22 years, this was my first time visiting the islands, and it was truly unforgettable. The pristine landscapes, abundant sea life, and even spotting several tiny island foxes while enjoying our picnic lunch, made it an unforgettable adventure. All of us complemented how clean and new the boat was. Also how fast we were able to go around the harbor. A lot of nice homes to look at and not to mentioned the seals that were so loud! Yes, so much fun!! Reservation online was easy and the staff was really nice. They also rent out other equipment as well, SUP, jet ski, kayaks and other stuff. Just check them out on their website. Our rental was for two hours and it went by pretty fast. But two hours is all you need and really that's plenty of time. Next time I would order from Toppers Pizzas. I hear of this place every summer but never had the chance til this week. What a great place for kids to enjoy water play. But actually for the entire family too! We went during free swim time from 12-4pm and it was only $10 for ages 3 and up. There's a big shallow kiddie pool with water activities and then 2 water slides on the back side of the park. There's a rec pool that maybe goes to 4.5 ft depth so it's perfect for just enjoying the water when you can't lap swim because the pool is crowded. A large picnic table area can be found in the middle of the center too so you can being lunch and snacks too. There a larger Olympic size pool on the west end of the center that can be used for lap swimming so overall it's great for all ages and swimming levels. We're planning to be here quite a bit for the summer! There's also cabanas to change into and showers to rinse off before and after swimming.

Even superheroes love this pool!

This beach is on-leash and has never been crowded. That makes it a good spot for our senior dog to walk a bit and then curl up by our beach blanket for bird watching and napping under the sea breeze. The humans like the fact that it is usually clean, parking is very easy and inexpensive in the two large lots, and the restrooms are usually clean enough (bring hand sanitzer, though - the soap and paper towels often run out). There's also paths for people riding bikes and jogging, and a large park that is often lively with picnics, barbeques, volleyball games, and people working out. As people in our early 40s, it is refreshingly unpretentious and un-scene-y, too. Most people are friendly and there are a lot of families. One tip: The water here can be rough with rip currents, and there is no life guard present.

The people were so friendly to wave and say 'hi' as we walked by. There's two good size parking areas -- pay to park machines are easy to find.

My 12-year-old son is playing here now, and I played here myself about 20 years ago, which makes it really special and nostalgic for me. The parking lot was full when I arrived at noon but I parked along San Nicholas Ave. It was not too far to walk to the beach entrance. Some things I liked about this beach was that it definitely was not crowded considering a lot of people are vacationing in the Ventura/Santa Barbara area in July and school is out. The farther away you move away from the restrooms and parking lot, the less and less people you will see on the beach. Parking in the parking lot is free but it's not very big so it's easy to see why it fills up quickly. The bathrooms are metal toilets and although there was seat covers there is no soap to wash your hands so you should bring hand sanitizer. There are 2 lifeguard towers but I only saw one active in the tower. The #2 lifeguard tower looked closed up. So you are better off sticking closer to the bathrooms for lifeguard safety. There were a lot of people surfing and boogie boarding here. At one point the lifeguard had to tells some boogie boarders to move down further and it looked like the section they were in was starting to look pretty rough. Dogs are not allowed between 9am-5pm but you will still see people walking their dogs on the beach. Overall it was a nice beach. I feel like there was definitely more driftwood here and more wood pieces in the sand that poke your feet but I did not encounter any tar on my feet at this beach which is a plus.
