She was in hospice when she arrived there from home, but was discharged from hospice six weeks later as she took a renewed interest in food and activities. 80th Street provides a warm and stimulating community. We found The 80th Street Residence. And before COVID, it was wonderful. And then, well, everything changed. I wouldn't board a dog at this place. They manage patients with medication (including medications with FDA black box warnings). If staff is short, they lock patients/residences in their rooms. Their in-house doctor refuses to cooperate with outside specialists, or even meet with the families (including holders of health care proxies, living wills, guardianships, trusts, etc.). And at the end of it all, when the resident patient/resident has been so neglected that intervention is needed, they'll just dump him/her to the nearest ER without so much as a phone call. All this with a five-figure (multiples) per month price tag. As I said, I wouldn't put a dog in this place.
