We…read morewere in the area in July and decided this was the best option for us to check out the Delmarva Peninsula while doing it on a budget. My wife briefly checked out other Hilton options closer to the beach and they were simply too expensive for us. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet and we enjoyed our stay. Since we visited during covid the housekeeping staff was helpful and friendly about exchanging out towels and giving us additional supplies like toilet paper while connecting in the hallway. We really appreciate that the toilet flushes well, but holy cow, keep a safe distance when flushing or you might lose something. Overall it was a good stay but we feel that something needs to be done to the parking entry area. Twice during our four days the entry (shared with Walmart and another retail space) was almost impassable with deep water that doesn't appear to drain properly. This isn't acceptable in our opinion and should be fixed as soon as possible.

The drive to the speedway was approximately 40 minutes on major byways so it was a relatively convenient location to post up in for my extended weekend. The lobby of Tru was very welcoming, with an unusual main desk at the center of things instead of tucked away against a wall. There was lots of seating in this area to enjoy the included breakfast (the automatic pancake machine, oh my god so good) and to hang out or wait for others to meet up. Foosball table, large television, etc. The rooms were equally as inviting. Lots of natural light but with the ability to really black things out in the room with a roll down curtain. The non-carpeted flooring was a nice, modern change. Beds were very comfortable, sheets clean, spacious layout, flat screen tv, mini fridge, etc. In-ground indoor pool was a nice option to have during our stay. Didn't seem all that popular among the guests staying at the same time as me since it was always empty but appreciated none-the-less. The hotel itself is situated in a concrete jungle so though there was a small outdoor seating area, don't expect much ambiance in terms of the outdoor space. Located next to a gas station, food store, and some strip mall restaurants - this hotel is convenient, serviceable, and an excellent option if you are in need of a place to stay in the middle of Delaware.

There were mattress protection covers, which I was happy to see. Pool water looked murky, didn't seem clean. Shame we would've totally jumped in if it looked clean. Breakfast was mediocre. Pancake machine seems like the pancakes are under cooked. Workers replenished the food but weren't cleaning off tables. Twice we had to find a rag and solution to clean off empty tables before sitting to eat. Finally the pillows are terribly soft. They feel like air but not in a good way. Price for our stay was reasonable

When I called to make a reservation she was so kind and explained in detail the difference in rooms. I couldn't wait to meet her in person. She was just as sweet when I met her. Hotel Blue is classy, from its facade, to lobby, to fancy pants coffee maker to our room which was on the 2nd floor immediately above the hotel entrance. The room was fine for the 2 of us and would be a great venue for a romantic escape. The bathroom was updated, spacious, and clean as was the room. The gas fireplace was a great touch, and I fired it up for several minutes to the utter dismay and disapproval of my wife as we were there on a balmy August weekend and she is chronically hot. The staff was polite and accommodating, our room had real as opposed to plastic keys, and the parking lot out front was adequate in size. There is not someone on duty at the front desk during part of the late night hours, but I've never required assistance from a desk clerk in the middle of the night, or at least not yet. It is in easy walking distance of charming Lewes Second Avenue with Its abundance of restaurants and shops. Hotel Blue is not cheap, nor is it a no-tell motel sort of establishment accommodating screaming guests. If you're coming to the area, make reservations well in advance, and treat yourself and your honey with a stay at the Hotel Blue!
