My wife briefly checked out other Hilton options closer to the beach and they were simply too expensive for us. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet and we enjoyed our stay. Since we visited during covid the housekeeping staff was helpful and friendly about exchanging out towels and giving us additional supplies like toilet paper while connecting in the hallway. We really appreciate that the toilet flushes well, but holy cow, keep a safe distance when flushing or you might lose something. Overall it was a good stay but we feel that something needs to be done to the parking entry area. Twice during our four days the entry (shared with Walmart and another retail space) was almost impassable with deep water that doesn't appear to drain properly. This isn't acceptable in our opinion and should be fixed as soon as possible.

Although, I've never seen a tater tot along with scrambled eggs before and that was the first in any hotel I've stayed at previously. Our room was clean, nice, and smell good. AC thermostat was on the wall and was very cold which is nice. The shower has a bar soap from previous used from other whom stayed before us. Our stay was somewhat pleasant if it weren't for too many Mexicans in place hotel throughout the night, some were really noisy and heavy floor stomping here and there. Sometimes, when arriving back to hotel.. our forth floor can smell marijuana throughout the floor when it's a non-smoking floor. I had a Mexican walked up to me and asked if I had any during my stay. The pool was nice and average temperature. It's cold but not too cold once you stay in for period of time.

Foosball table, large television, etc. The rooms were equally as inviting. Lots of natural light but with the ability to really black things out in the room with a roll down curtain. The non-carpeted flooring was a nice, modern change. Beds were very comfortable, sheets clean, spacious layout, flat screen tv, mini fridge, etc. In-ground indoor pool was a nice option to have during our stay. Didn't seem all that popular among the guests staying at the same time as me since it was always empty but appreciated none-the-less. The hotel itself is situated in a concrete jungle so though there was a small outdoor seating area, don't expect much ambiance in terms of the outdoor space. Located next to a gas station, food store, and some strip mall restaurants - this hotel is convenient, serviceable, and an excellent option if you are in need of a place to stay in the middle of Delaware.

We stayed in the "Sussex" room which had plenty of space, a clawfoot tub, and a huge king sized bed. There is a very loud fire siren, and a train that go nearby so my first night's sleep wasn't the best - however, I don't want that to be a reason for a lower rating. The mansion is beautiful inside and out. Antiques everywhere, so much history. And the breakfast was so much better than I could have ever imagined! Jan really gets the guests to mingle, and socialize - he is a great guy. His husband, Joey, is also a fantastic host and made the delicious breakfast for us each day. Staying in October meant that we were able to enjoy some of the fall foliage, and even ate breakfast in the courtyard. If we ever come back to this area, there is no doubt in my mind that we would stay at Causey Mansion - it is a gem!

Delicious coffee! Staff could not have been nicer. Close to shops and restaurants; can't emphasize enough the great location. We had a short stay but look forward to our return.
