This restaurant is located in a basement and the first room you walk into down the stairs is rather humble. There are a few tables and the walls are grey. There is a rather big bar as it is also appears to be a night club in the weekends.
Due to this first impression I first thought about a take-away restaurant but then we were guided to the adjacent room, which was completely different. It had a warm color on the columns and walls and the tables were cozy with benches, wooden chairs and pillows. Good place for couples, families and groups up to 6. A candlelight was ignited on the table and all of a sudden take away changed to a warm welcome.
Having looked through the options we eventually decided to actually order the tourist menu which, beside the ignorant header, was rather nice with good options for each of the three servings.
I had
1. Penne with bolognese sauce
2. Chicken breast with a sparse collection of vegetables
3. Ice cream
All for €16+drinks
After the menu we were full but it was a mixed experience. The staff seemed quite annoyed with their job with minor interaction and removing the plates in the same second we lifted the fork to have the last bite. Of course people are different but we had 3 different waiters on our table and it was all the same experience. It could be that they were embarrassed by their English but if that is the case, they shouldn't be. We saw more interactions with the Italian guests though.
No. 2 serving lacked some enthusiasm in regards of the vegetables. They lacked salt. There were harricot verts, potatoes and carrots. The potatoes were grilled in squares and were pretty tasty. It would have been nice if they prepared the carrots and harricot verts the same way. I think with these minor things they could easily charge €20 making the food better and the staff happier.
To summarize:
A lot of food for a reasonable price but you are not expected to hang around all night to reserve the table for other potential guests read more
