The pumps have new card readers and work well. Right now, High Street is under construction for the Spring and Summer of 2022. The intersection on which the station sits was completed last year. So entering and exiting off Indiana Ave is easy enough. The one driveway entrance that is closed will probably open up as soon as the sidewalk is done.

More Than Just A Gas Station!…read more The price of their fuel is generally ten cents a gallon cheaper than stations in Mooresville. They have eight pumps for cars, SUVs and pickup trucks. They also have a separate area with a high canopy for semi trucks that has three pumps. Inside is the usual convenience store plus a "Village" US Post Office, a Subway (the dining area is currently closed) and Chester's Chicken. Chester's fried chicken is pretty decent chicken and very popular with the area's local residents. They also have live bait and refill propane tanks.

It's pretty well known that Wawa only recently entered the Indiana market. What started as a New Jersey iron foundry in 1803, became a dairy processing plant in 1902, and then opened as a food market in 1964, is now a 750-strong chain of convenience stores with a strong presence in six states and a growing presence in others (including Indiana). Why is Wawa beloved? friendly employees. One-stop shopping for gas, coffee, and food. While this was really within the first 24 hours of being open, it was noticeably clean and I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was. Wawa offers fuel and EV charging. Wawa has a stunning amount of coffee options and I definitely tried their refreshers/rechargers. Dragon Burst is an absolute winner. Wawa has breakfast, lunch, and dinner options and the menu is surprisingly comprehensive. You can get a biscuit sandwich starting at $2.49 - lower than a ton of fast food joints (I'm looking at you, Hardee's). While gas stations/convenience stores are often known for their unhealthy foods, Wawa has quite a few healthy options. There's also a lot of baked goods - donuts, brownies, muffins, and even soft pretzels. I tried the donuts. Yum. I was pleased with accessibility features. I also noticed an accessibility statement on their website that I found pleasing. This was a first visit and it was unexpected. So, no photos. I was rushing to a conference and primarily looking for a snack and directions. I received both from friendly employees in a warm, winning, clean, and welcoming atmosphere. I don't go to Plainfield a ton, however, there's no doubt I'd stop back here when I'm in the area. While I still think the idea of a beloved gas station/convenience store is a little weird, There's an awful lot to love about Wawa.

But I was intrigued, so figured I'd check it out. Now I had no idea what Leo's offered until I went in. Think gas station/convenience store offering locally made food items, freshly prepared bowls/drinks and kolaches. Second guilty admission: never had a kolache. The nice woman behind the counter helped me choose (they were buy one, get one free)! So I chose one egg and cheese, and one spinach and cheese. They were warmed in an oven while I went to grab a coffee and use the restroom, which was very clean and well-stocked. Pro tip: if you want a latte or another specialty coffee, order at the counter. If you want to make your own, go to the coffee bar. It's less expensive, plus they have a variety of sweeteners, Torani syrups, and assorted creamers (including plant-based). The cash register employee let me know when they were ready to go, and my grand total was less than $6. I picked up a few hot sauce packets from the condiment bar and sat down in the dining area to eat. The kolache itself is essentially a small, light sandwich. The bread was soft, with a hint of sweetness. The egg and cheese combo was perfect for my light lunch! I had a bite of the spinach and cheese kolache before I left, which was even more flavorful and cheesy! Can't wait to have it tomorrow morning. The cafe also features freshly prepared smoothies, coffee drinks, salad/potato/pasta bowls as well as soups, with a rotating soup of the day. There's truly something for every taste. They could charge a little more since it is right off the highway, but it is relatively comparable to the ones around it ,actually a little less expensive. It has a convenient store attached as well as a restaurant called Porkopolis. Didn't try either of those, just got gas with my truck rental before I returned it to the rental store.
