The one gas station everyone is filling up at before they return their rental car. Beware: long lines, confusing location, high prices. Also note: prices here may be high enough that it may be comparable to the rate your rental company is quoting. Who knows. This may be an elaborate scheme that takes advantage of people who also "fill up ourselves" when booking a car. Maybe not. But the best tip here is to avoid it if you want to save money and fill up before you enter airport territory. read more

After completing an Uber trip from a house in Dutchess Co, 2 hours + north of this location, I knew I needed gas. And although the referral came from my Google Maps app, I knew I could trust to not see problems with non-acceptance of my GasBuddy card when I swiped it here. However, at first, I had a problem - maybe it was my "not-so-nimble fingers", or that I switched the direction of the card read in the machine - or something else. I don't know. I just know I fixed it by waiting long enough and swiping and completing the transaction again when it said the card wasn't reading. While I found this place rather easily (from someone coming from way out of town), it didn't seem all that popular. It's in the JFK Travel Plaza parking lot, (about 5 minutes from the airport) (and I could see planes arriving onto the runways from this location as I approached), but what makes this one a bit annoying is that there's little signage saying the direction of travel and it seems like two cars want to take up the same spot at the same time. It's got the travel plaza just ahead of it, and having two streets without a direct entrance from the connector road in between 148th and 150th Aves, seems to be a bit confusing. Maybe it's just me. I know the price I paid is higher than overall other areas - it's almost on airport property and so convenience is a big factor on price, but I found this gas to be rather expensive. I could only dream of the cost of the almost-attached car wash that's bundled with this station nearby. At $2.99/gallon (when I recognize $2.50/gallon up near me in Dutchess Co), this almost had me talked out of my decision, but I had to get gas regardless of gas price because I couldn't make it home with the amount I had in it before figuring traffic patterns. read more

This gas station is close enough to JFK to warrant the positive review. The parking lot is big enough so you can wait for your friends flight to come in. As an added benefit there is a 7-11 and Wendy's in case you get hungry. There is also a cheap car wash in case you get bird poo on your car. By no means is it a good car wash, but it is okay. This is a great alternative to the "cellphone lot". read more

Wish I could give a negative for this gas station. I went in to fill up my car and get a car wash, which was $14.99. I then proceeded to the carwash and found a cone there. I went inside to inquire about the cone and the carwash. I was advised that the carwash was closed. I told them that the station outside had asked for a wash and charged my cc. I asked for my money back. I was advised that I should have checked the carwash first before agreeing to the charge. I was told that his gas station's policy is not to refund car washes. I asked him why does his system be allowed to charge when the carwash is closed? He told me that I had 90 days to use it. They know that most of their customers fly out and can't use it within 90 days. It is a scam. Not the money but the principle. read more

So it's been a long time since i've had the displeasure to use this gas station. Went there the other night to get gas. No one outside in the booth for payment. Went into the 7-11 and was told there is someone in the booth. Informed Shelly that no one was there. Can I just pay here and gas up my car? No someone is there.. ok can I talk to the mgr? Shelly talks to a gentleman in the back and comes back. Muhammed says there is someone in the booth, you need to go outside. Ok we just had this conversation, can I talk to him? No! I then left and filled up at another gas station. This is the worst business I have been to in terms of customer service. No one wanted to help me. Not the employee Shelly nor the manager Muhammed. It's as if they view customers as an inconvenience. Strange. read more

This place is a ripoff. The pump latch wouldn't hold. Had to go inside to get receipt. Clerks don't know which pump is which so after waiting in line, I had to hike back out to my car, look at the number and run back inside. Don't gas up your rental car here. read more

The worst and most infuriating gas station ever. Its purpose is to fill up before returning your rental car - but it's hard to get to and the signage is super-confusing. When you're finally at the pump you can't just swipe your credit card, you have to give it to a lone attendant in a booth (there WILL be a line!) who will only let you purchase a set amount so the choice is yours -- pay too much and lose some money, or pay too little and miss your plane. Avoid this place and fill up early. read more
