Sunoco station on 124. Extremely narrow if you are in a SUV but the guy who pumps the gas is friendly. Turning out of here can be a bear.

Having come from dropping someone off at Newark Airport from a two-hour drive away via the Lyft…read moreridesharing service, when I came into the area, I was looking high-and-low for a gas station. I tried to find gas stations that I recognized the name for, and came upon a listing for Gulf, which I thought was in this location. And although when I set my navigation I was just up your road at the Firestone dealer, I looked both ways but couldn't spot this location. I had to make a large block and came out by the BP gas on 78 then on my route back found this Gulf - just less than a tenth of a mile from where i started my journey around your town from. (Ugh, big loop, but I was from out-of-state.) When I arrived at your gas station, I saw a truck was in the best spot to fill up, and I knew I couldn't make the corner to park on the other side: I had everything to do to turn left from Morris Ave into your place. I had to get out and get my gas filler cap off due to getting my GasBuddy discount card ready for purchasing. I had know a little about New Jersey's gas laws. However, I had also heard a little while back that New Jersey was in-the-midst of trying to switch to self-service. I mentioned to the gas attendant (it was full-service here) that I wanted to buy gas here, and although the way he said it wasn't quite on-key, when I knew he was trying to tell me to back up so that he could let the truck out but I still had my gas cap in hand. I pulled back then around the truck, but in the meantime, a minivan thought I was coming through completely. I had to communicate to him that I wasn't going through all the way (until I got my fill-up), and although you could tell this person was angry that they couldn't get their way, I feel I could have parked and had the truck wait a few extra seconds to get what I needed/wanted out of the way. I presented my GasBuddy card to the station attendant when I knew it was safe. It seemed like this wasn't the first GasBuddy card transaction he's seen before. He knew I had to enter my driver ID and odometer reading (or the trick to get around this with driver ID and odometer 99). I told the employee to fill'er up and let me know when he's done, and headed back to my car. I had given him my gas cap, and after filling, he took care of replacing the cap and closed the gas door. A few minutes later, I heard and felt the tank trickle off at an even number of coins (something I strive to do), but knew that most NJ gas stations tend to top-off the tank. I wasn't crazy about his topping off at 52 cents, but I knew I'd be able to get that back with my GasBuddy discount. He came over after he place the cap on and closed the gas door, and when he tried to tell me he was all done, he asked me if I wanted a receipt. He seemed like he was being rushed when he quick grabbed the receipt after it was printed and then it was off to the runnin' for me back to my hometown in NY. I'm still not liking Jersey very much. Roads are too complicated in spots, and unless you know the roads well, my navigation app wasn't too great. I liked that there was Wi-Fi in the area (with my Spectrum cable service), but the signal felt poorer than normal in that state today, and I couldn't get good reception there. If I had been better prepared to drive the navigated routes there, I might have enjoyed the drive around your town I had to take. I don't think I'll be in the area again, but in case I ever am, we'll see just how far I get into using your station again. Gas prices were even higher than what I'm used to in NY state, and I thought that NJ gas prices tend to be lower than NY, which makes me curious why people mention it this way.
