Dropped the car off in the morning, asked them to do a diagnostic to identify a check-engine-light…read moreproblem. Informed them that I intended to use the car to travel to Washington in the afternoon, and would need to take the car somewhere else if they were not able to work on it immediately. They agreed and said that they would get right to work, and that they would call if the problem were serious so that I could make alternate travel arrangements. Then, they proceeded to hold the car for the ENTIRE DAY without doing any work or calling. After calling several them several times to no answer (late in the afternoon, far too late to purchase a plane or train ticket), went back down to the station in person to find that they had done NOTHING. NO WORK WHATSOEVER. They had, however, hooked up the diagnostic machine (when, I don't know), and informed me that I had a serious transmission issue. Of course, they didn't bother to call to inform me of this, as they had promised, and they never intended to get my consent before beginning work. So my travel plans are ruined, just so I wouldn't have the chance to take the car to a competitor. Oh, and to top it off, they OVERCHARGED for the pittance of work they did do (the diagnosis) BY 600 PERCENT! $90 for a $15 procedure. Avoid this place like the plague or you may get scammed.

Avoid Reliable Auto Body & Towing and Route 117 Auto Service Center in Bedford Hills, NY…read more My car broke down in Bedford Hills when the right-side wheel came off. This was already a stressful and dangerous situation, but what followed made everything much worse. First, the tow truck from Reliable Auto Body & Towing charged me $275 just to take my car down the road to the local shop. The driver was extremely rude, refused to help with the wheel, and literally dragged my older Mercedes onto and off the truck--possibly causing more damage. Completely unprofessional. Then, at Route 117 Auto Service Center, the treatment got worse. The staff showed no interest in actually repairing my car. I left it overnight and got a call the next day even with correcting them several times on the pronunciation of my name they proceeded being disrespectful. In my line of business details are very important. Pronouncing names correctly is the bare minimum. They topped it off with a ridiculous estimate of over $1,000--clearly a quote designed so I would decline service. When I asked them to simply put the tire back on so I could tow it out with AAA, they charged me $192.99 for that alone. On top of this, when I politely asked if I could use their bathroom while waiting, they refused and told me to "go to McDonald's down the road." As an African-American, I found that remark offensive and racially insensitive. To make things worse, when AAA tried to pick up my vehicle, the repair shop initially denied the car was even there. After a second tow truck finally picked it up, the driver discovered the bolts had not even been properly tightened--the wheel was about to come off again. That is reckless and dangerous. It's obvious there's a shady "understanding" between the tow company and the repair shop, and customers are the ones who get taken advantage of. Between the sky-high prices, rude service, possible damage to my car, and blatant lack of care for my safety, I will never go back. -No customer service -Overpriced -Careless and dangerous work -Rude and possibly racist treatment -Stay far away from both of these businesses.
