I got several names and got bids from those who took the time to respond (some just didn't). We went with TopTree and I have to say, "Wow!" They worked with me to get the work done sooner (our road is being resurfaced next week and I really wanted to get it done before). They gave reminder calls and let us know exactly what work would done on which day. Their teams arrived on time, as expected, were friendly and completed the work in a professional manner. (Three different crews on three different days - tree removal, stump grinding, and stump grinding cleanup.) When the job was finished, they didn't just leave a bill on the door - they had a representative call a few days later to ask if we were happy with their services and to see how (email or snail mail) we'd like to get the bill. There were no hidden charges, the cost to have 2 medium-sized silver maples removed, including the wood and stumps was about 60% that of other bids. I just have to say that if you need tree service here in the Tri-Cities, give Top Tree a call! Every person I dealt with from scheduling, dispatch, sales, to cleaned was so kind and helpful. This business is one of the best I've worked with in maintaining my home.

1 Star -- Disappointing Pruning, Poor Communication, and Lack of Follow-Through…read more I hired Top Tree Service to prune my approximately 80-year-old Chinese elm Before approving the work, I specifically requested a detailed revised estimate outlining exactly how I wanted the tree pruned. My main priority was preserving its long-term health and structural integrity. The written agreement specifically called for selective tip and weight reduction, preservation of healthy interior lateral growth, and no excessive interior stripping or lion-tailing. While the crew preserved the tree's height and major structural limbs, I was extremely disappointed with the finished result. The interior canopy was left considerably more open than I expected, with several long branches relatively bare toward the inside and much of the foliage remaining toward the outer ends. This was exactly what I had tried to avoid by putting specific pruning requirements in writing. What made this experience even worse was the company's poor communication and failure to follow through. After the initial pruning, I had Rob come back to inspect the tree and discuss my concerns about the unfinished work. We agreed on a date for the crew to return, and Rob assured me he would leave notes explaining what needed to be completed. When the agreed-upon date arrived, nobody showed up. I called the company to find out what happened and specifically asked about the notes Rob had promised to leave. I was informed that there were no notes for the crew. We ended up having to call twice just to get the company back out to finish the job. For the money I spent on this project. I should not have had to chase down the company, remind them of their commitments, or make sure the crew received instructions that the estimator had already agreed to provide. The work should have been completed properly the first time, particularly with such a detailed written scope. I hired professionals because I wanted this mature tree carefully maintained for decades to come. Instead, I was left disappointed with the pruning, the lack of communication, and the overall customer service. Based on my experience, I would not hire Top Tree Service again and cannot recommend them for the careful pruning and preservation of mature trees.

My yard was overrun and needed replanting. It took almost a month before they were able to start the peoject, and only after i had to contact them several times asking when the work would begin. There were some delays that were not their fault, but there were also several commitments that they failed to meet and had to reschesule on me. They never let me know ahead of time that work would not be able to be completed. They would just miss their commitment and then i was left to contact them and find out the reason. After the initial work was finished, they were supposed to continue with weed control. They never showed up again. The manager contacted me several times inquiring about my lawn. Every time i told him weeds were growing back strong. The week of the 4th of july, i sent him a picture of my overgrown yard. At this point it was worse than before they dis the first job because the weeds were being watered. He said he would have someone over to pull weeds or mowz but again nobody showed on the agreed date. My yard was an absolute mess for the holiday weekend. After that i cut ties with this company and will never do business again. The wasted my time as a customer by telling me they could meet my needs, but completely fell flat on providing the actual service. Dont waste your time with this company. Their hands are too full to take care of you. ​

After having 3 bids on the removal of (8) 100-foot Cottonwood trees, I was considering praying for a hurricane to take care of them! I came across Boyd's number and Rudy came out and gave a quote. The price was about $1500.00 cheaper than anywhere else. A few days later, he called and said his crew was going to be off for a week until their next big job, so he wanted to know if he could offer an even lower price so his crew could work that week. I accepted the offer and he accepted interest free payments over 3 months. He was able to get his crew a job and those sad trees are history!
