I live in a low income housing apartment for people 62 and older. We have a community garden that had a tree that was diseased and needed to be taken down, but the owner of the property didn't want to pay for its removal. We reached out to four tree services in the area, asking if any were interested in offering its removal as a community service (free of charge). Chipped my paint on my Truck. Arbor Street Richland my neighbors had two backyard maples removed while I was not home. I returned to find their chipper loading branches and blasting into a truck right next to my truck in adjoining driveway. I own a 2022 Ford F150 new to me. The debris was blasted at my hood for long enough to dispose of 2 huge trees. I ran and moved my truck but too late now. read more

UPDATE 5/26/24: The manager never got back to us. TERRIBLE business practice!!!!! The last convo my husband had with the manager, he told us they allow their employees to use the equipment off duty as well..... NOT OKAY! My huckleberry plants are done for. It's bad enough I have a hard time locating a huckleberry start. FUCK YOU and your company for allowing this type of shit to slide. I'll be sure to post around social media how shady this company is. UPDATE 11/15/23: My husband has called and left a message NUMEROUS times and NO ONE has bothered to call him back. At this point we will be leaving reviews on every platform until someone from management contacts us. It's not okay for your employees to destroy my plants and come onto MY property without my permission. My neighbor hired these guys to cut some of his branches down... To everyone's surprise, they decided to park on my property, AND allowed all the branches to land on 3 mature huckleberry plants I've been growing for almost 3 years..... I have video footage of them destroying my plants I worked so hard on. I hope they shit themselves when I arrived back from my errands and demanded they get off my property. Boyd's was hired by our neighbor to trim our three full grown trees to the fence line but they cut between 4-9 ft beyond the property line to the trunks without asking us first. Our neighbor told them they had our permission and Boyd's never contacted us to confirm. We took them to court for 'Timber Trespassing' and won. David was rude on the phone and refused to make it right after multiple attempts. They will be the cheapest for a reason- you get what you pay for. Boyds was just here and totally destroyed my flower bed. They used no supports for the large branches as any professional would use and the branches fell on my roses and broke them and in my flower bed they took out my newly blooming plants. They were not at all careful. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

Had some storm damage, Boyd did respond so kudo's on that, the rate however was grossly excessive, 6K to pull one limb, one, off of the roof and deck and remove. I had no choice, had to get it out of the way so I could restore power. If it wasnt critical right now work I would have rejected the insane estimate. Okay, no one loves to cut down trees, PLUS having to pay for their removal....but let me tell you, if you have to call anyone for this service, Rudy with Boyd's is your man! After having 3 bids on the removal of (8) 100-foot Cottonwood trees, I was considering praying for a hurricane to take care of them! I came across Boyd's number and Rudy came out and gave a quote. The price was about $1500.00 cheaper than anywhere else. A few days later, he called and said his crew was going to be off for a week until their next big job, so he wanted to know if he could offer an even lower price so his crew could work that week. I accepted the offer and he accepted interest free payments over 3 months. He was able to get his crew a job and those sad trees are history! Had several bids to remove a huge sycamore tree in our front yard. Boyd's was very competitive in their estimate and were able to start work much sooner than some of the other companies. They came the day they said they would come, safely removed the tree, came back the next day and sprayed the stump to kill it, and then came back a few days later to grind the stump down. Before leaving they spread all the stump grindings and dirt out level as I had asked and picked up every little limb and debri that was from the tree. Even though it is sad for us to remove any tree, especially in this area, we felt we had to so that our new solar panels would get as much unobstructed sunlight as possible. We had the best experience with Boyd's Tree Service! They were so efficient and had cut down the tree and trimmed up another in about 45-50 minutes, start to finish! The stump removal took about 30 minutes start to finish. They cleaned up after themselves and stacked the wood that they cut into usable sections for us! Called Boyd's on a Monday and talked to Rudy about removing two trees. This site and several friends had told me what a great service Boyd's provides. I tried for a Friday appointment at 11am. Rudy explained he could not make it but set the appointment up for 1 PM and said his boss would keep the appointment. Friday at 1 PM no one showed. Called the next Monday and spoke to Rudy again. I made an appointment for Friday at 9 AM Friday at 10 AM, when no one still had not shown up, I called Boyd's and asked Rudy if anyone was coming out to estimate my tree removal he replied that the appointment was for 1 PM. I said no, the appointment was for 9 AM. He corrected me and said he had it in his book for 1PM, but that he could be out between 1030 am and 1100 am that day. Rudy showed up at just before 11 AM, got out of his truck, which he left running, walked out back to where the trees are, asked me what I wanted done with them then wrote the cost on an estimate sheet and NOTHING ELSE! No details of what was the expected services for the price written. From the time he got out of his truck to the time he got back in his truck and drove off, it was 6 minutes! I had two other tree services out here since then, 1 service took 20 minutes and wrote out a detailed estimate, the other service took 30 minutes and wrote out a detailed estimate. Both services assured me they use a qualified arborist in all their efforts and in BOTH ESTIMATES, the price quoted was less than that what was estimated by Boyd's. Which is not surprising since they actually performed a professional estimate and were genuinely interested in my business. I am writing this review to assure others will perform a diligent search of other services before deciding which service to use. I was all set to have Boyd's perform this service based upon these reviews and my friends recommendations. I am pleased I performed my due diligence in this research. read more

I called Rudy for a quote and they were the best price. He said he would be there on Tuesday to remove our tree. They never showed up. Called that evening and he said their wood chipper got stuck in the mud and would be there first thing in the morning. Wednesday at 3pm I called to see where they were, and they "forgot" about us. They did finally show up on Thursday and did a fine job. Sloppy clean up, but three stars for the best price. read more
