Owner was nice, so I feel bad for leaving a bad review. Teriyaki chicken and general Tso chicken sucked. It was expensive, almost $20 with tax and meat was dry. General Tso sauce was weird and mostly ketchup with some Korean spice in it. Not enough sauce. I don't think I'll be back. read more

It's disgusting! The teriyaki sauce tastes nothing like teriyaki. It's a mix of scalded and bitterness. The rice is definitely not Jazmine and over cooked. Last the salad....is cabbage and broccoli not salad. This place is gross to say the least. We tried 3 times and it's always the same. We removed all the meat rinsed it off and recooked it with our own white rice . Now, the fried rice has no flavor and they use fresh rice and not day old so it's mushy . Please save your money and try something else or you will be pissed and still end up cooking or spending more money for decent teriyaki . read more

if 0 STARS was an option... went in yesterday 10/18/2022 about 7:35pm waited for almost 12 minutes to be greeted by anyone, a older lady walked out and still ignored us....eventually was greeted ask if they had chicken, was told no chicken no beef...she didn't say anything went to the back for about 4-5 minutes......came back waited another 5-10 minutes for her. finally said we're ready to order started placing our order, asked for 3 orange chicken plates...total was over 60.00 dollars for home. looked and something didn't seemed right. the orange chicken SMELLED awful also tasted old...TOOK A FEW BITES.. NOW FEEL SICK !!!!!! i called today 10/19/22 about 5 something spoke with the lady that i'm sure took our order last night explained the orange chicken wasn't good and we didn't eat any of it....not even the dogs would touch it (dogs eat everything) she told me i was crazy....& hung up called back again sent straight to voicemail.... Terrible customer service! I happen to be in the area and I was told very rudely were not serving anyone right now, I am on lunch. No certain time given and no other options. Seems she didn't want my business, not to mention a man that was leaving thought it was weird too. I will never order in or out after that!! I was stoked to hear that theres a Sunny teriyaki in Spanaland; the one in Auburn is the bomb. Compare that one to a megaton warhead and this one to a grenade. Sad to have to update this with only 1 star compared to the 5 I left before. I hadn't been here for a while because once we went kind of close to closing time and was rudely told "chicken only" so we thought oh ok we'll get chicken fried rice..."no, too late chicken teriyaki only". So disgruntled we left. My mom went and picked up food for us yesterday for my birthday lunch and asked her to get me yakisoba with no onions or carrots. She said the woman then rudely told her "no veggie, ok" and my mom corrected her and she said "that's too difficult, no veggie", despite that I've ordered it this way previously. But even the rudeness aside honesty the yakisoba tasted so gross. It was super oily and was incredibly hard to eat, we also got gyoza that tasted stale like they had let them sit out for a while. My mom also got tempura vegetables which she did like. I won't be coming back here. After years of loving the food these past experiences just make it not worth it read more

I have been a fan here for years. Their teriyaki is very consistent, had it the same way every time. I usually get the chicken teriyaki and the general tsao's chicken, and honestly it doesn't get better than that. The flavors are bold and very satisfying! Wow, so I had given this place a 5 star a few years back because the food was so good, the portions were on point. Well, unfortunately now, the food has changed. The portions have changed. I just had the sweet and sour chicken.....sauce was just a sticky sugar sauce...i couldn't even down it ,it was just too sweet. I also had the beef short ribs...or should I say fatty thin meat on a bone..... It's just terrible. Food is good but disappointing how you can substitute anything. Even if you are allergic you can't substitute noodles for rice. Or order beef and broccoli with almond chicken. When they brought out food they brought one glass of water glass and it took 3 times to ask her for 2 more since 3 ppl were dining. I talked myself into this place despite the various "restaurants" located through out the many dubious strip mall places in Spanaway. This spot was a good decision. I ordered the chicken teriyaki with white rice and fresh fried cabbage....to go. I had my order served to me very fast and I was amazed at how well it was cooked. I think that I paid around $7-$8 for the meal and I could not even finish it (Me and the dog had a good time with the leftovers!!). All the flavors were there and the service was friendly and prompt. No customer service, give me money and here is your food. Smaller portions than other places fill the to go boxes with rice in every department then place chicken over it to look like a full box. Pricey too. If you have a lunch special and I just order it without saying lunch special don't be a ass and charge me the full price. I work at a nearby school and we all love to order teriyaki from here. However, the woman that usually works at the front counter needs an attitude adjustment. I have many times come in with only a debit card, knowing that my items of choice were over the $5 min allowance for using a debit card. Half the time I'm told that they have wonton soup, which is what I like to order, and other times they aren't serving it. Every time I go to use my debit card, the woman is very rude, even having me put a few sodas on the counter to make up the difference getting me to the total for using debit. She shakes her head and laughs to herself, because I wish to use my debit. I don't think it is very good business at all to make a customer feel small like that. I even offered to pay the fee for using the debit under the allowed minimum, and she just shook her head. Had the wonton soup been available this time I wouldn't have needed to worry, in her eyes. I ended up having to go with just a large rice, which the woman made me pay 50 cents for the little container of teriyaki sauce. I left after having scoured my car for 50 cents. Vey rude!!!! I hope this restaurant finds a better front counter person! I will tell all my coworkers at Spanaway Elem not to come here.. We will now go to a diff teriyaki. Disappointed! read more

Personally, this is my favorite place to get teriyaki. The prices are high for my liking, but the flavor is on point. They do not overly sauce their food and their spicy chicken is the best here that I've tasted compared to what I've had in Korea. read more
