Ten out of five stars!!!!! Best place to get teriyaki with huge portions and low prices!!!! The ownership has been changed and the new owner is awesome and really cares to the needs of her guests. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick, easy and most of all delicious meal.

if 0 STARS was an option... went in yesterday 10/18/2022 about 7:35pm waited for almost 12 minutes to be greeted by anyone, a older lady walked out and still ignored us....eventually was greeted ask if they had chicken, was told no chicken no beef...she didn't say anything went to the back for about 4-5 minutes......came back waited another 5-10 minutes for her. finally said we're ready to order started placing our order, asked for 3 orange chicken plates...total was over 60.00 dollars for home. looked and something didn't seemed right. the orange chicken SMELLED awful also tasted old...TOOK A FEW BITES.. NOW FEEL SICK !!!!!! i called today 10/19/22 about 5 something spoke with the lady that i'm sure took our order last night explained the orange chicken wasn't good and we didn't eat any of it....not even the dogs would touch it (dogs eat everything) she told me i was crazy....& hung up called back again sent straight to voicemail.... DO NOT EAT HERE....!!!

    Spicy chicken teriyaki

My sister loves this place and i was hesitant since the reviews were not good. We just ordered it and it's so good! The spicy chicken teriyaki is sooo good! I ordered on the phone and she was so nice and to the point and had it ready when I got there.

    Just I.

Smaller sized portion than some other places. I ordered the general chicken during lunch time. I did not like the flavor of this dish. I may give another chance but there are better places in the area.

    General Tsao's Chicken! SO good

HOWEVER, my wife has a shellfish allergy and the waitress forgot to ask if anyone at the table had allergies as did the chef, to be fair to them this is the first time that has happened to me there. CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENTS after the fact, i checked my account a bit after going and what should have been a roughly $250 (with tip) bill ended up being $454.93 on my statement. I am not sure if the party of 5 and our bill got swapped or what happened. EDIT: Called them and they immediately credited back the money with no hassle. Changing to 4 star. (-1 point for the allergy thing).

Unfortunately like almost every thing else fell apart and it never happened. The soup was served warm and didn't have taste very good cold. I sent it back and when we had hot it tasted great. The hot soup and fried rice was the best part of the meal. The cook's skills was way below average. I'm basing that on the many Japanese steakhouse I've been to. The cook dropped a piece of steak on the table on almost every person he served. He was very good with the salt shaker which explains why my Chicken and the vegetables were overly salted. I had to remind my server to bring us water a couple of times.

So depending on when you go, there may be a lot of foot traffic and its street parking only. They are right next to Marzano. Once you get, there's a a few tables to by the register and then a few tables on the other side. But there is additional seating on the left side. But if you're a large party, it may be hard to sit together as the restaurant is on a smaller side. We ordered takoyaki, fried chicken gyoza, pop rock shrimp for starters. Then order the kids Ramen and kids shrimp dupbap. (If your kids/nephew/niece aren't a fan of sauce on their things, ask for sauce on the side.) Then I had the chicken katsu dupbap and my friend ordered the shrimp spicy Ramen I think. We were too focused on getting the nephews fed, we didn't take a photo of our food. Hahaha. The food was alright. The nephews loved the op rock shrimp so we ordered more of that. Service was alright and the staff was friendly.

If you had grown up in this part of Pierce County, you are familiar with the enormous changes. However, this is one restaurant that has stayed with the times. Locals know, this is the place to start with, an original - Ho Soon Yi. Where the place can easily be swallowed up by the hustle and bustle of businesses on a very busy city street, this casual sit-down Korean restaurant has the everyday favorites you are familiar with. Where many Korean American establishments focus on the BBQ aspect, Ho Soon Yi focuses and masters other parts Korean cuisine. Specifically the soups!! And they are tasty!! Definitely the tofu soups are there, but there are appetizers, fried rice, and the traditional small side dishes are also served. My friend and I ordered the savory seafood pancake as the appetizer. As for soups, I ordered the Pork Tofu Soup and it was great! Definitely satisfying, and I didn't miss the BBQ one bit. Yes, the do have kalbi and bulgogi (beef, pork and seafood) but that is for another time. There are definitely plenty dishes to try. And all are tasty. You won't be disappointed. Overall we enjoyed the food (including our child) - tofu soup was very good - rich flavors, soft tofu. Could use more seafood in there but otherwise, no complains.
