Absolutely amazing! I had inherited a beautiful old Turkish rug of my grandmother's that had a 5" hole in it. They fixed it so well you can't even tell where the hole was, the entire rug looks perfect now. Kept me updated though the repair, and they were amazing at helping position the rug under a grand piano when they dropped it off. Incredible!! read more

They partially cleaned rug then tried to upcharge to do more. When they say that their process will remove 80% of the stains you should understand that they will clean 80% of the carpet and leave 20% dirty so that you agree to the upcharge. Use a more reputable firm! read more

Excellent work. Our Tibetan rug hadn't been professionally cleaned for about 20 years. Just weekly vacuuming and seltzer for spills etc. No visible stains, but lots of accumulated dust, and the color and luster weren't great. After the free onsite consultation, we chose standard shampooing of both sides. Not cheap, but about what I had figured. They kept the rug about a month, and when it came back it was better than new. Literally. Great color and luster, with the added character of age. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is I had to call for delivery after a month (there was no delivery date on the receipt). Apparently the rug was ready, and waiting for my call. But that's minor. It was definitely worth the wait. And if you have a good rug, you want to send it to someone you can trust. We're glad to have found Sunlight. read more

This is the second time I have used Sunlight rug cleaning service; the first time, several years ago, was after a huge flood in my apartment when the toilet overflowed. The odors that permeated the rugs were almost impossible to remove; however, sunlight's staff, with its expert care reworked them at least three times until all the fetid odors were gone. They did much extra work with sincere professionalism and never complained about the necessity to duplicate the process until we and they were satisfied. My rugs are hand- made, heavy, expensive, oriental rugs, and without Sunlight's care, I would have had to throw them out and lost several thousand dollars. Today, once again, my rugs were refreshed and look as lovely as they did when I first purchased them many years ago. Finally, their owners and staff are wonderful people. HGF, Manhattan read more

Highly professional and prompt. Will definitely use again for my rugs and recommend to my friends.

We could not find a specialty carpet cleaner in the Twin Cities. From the moment I called and spoke to the owner, Haim, I was impressed and knew this is the company I wanted to clean our 2 valuable rugs. Haim was careful from the outset. He noticed important facts by simply looking at the photos I sent him prior to sending him the rugs. And, he kept me apprised of his progress throughout the process (always timely). Ultimately, we received our rugs in great shape, and looking better than they have in years. I highly recommend this great rug cleaner. read more

True professionals. They tell you the truth about what they can and cannot do. VERY good service, costs more than others and it's worth every penny. I have used them for rugs, upholstery and repair. I will never go to another cleaning in NYC. read more

After unfortunate flooding and septic damage to my antique oriental rug (that's been passed down for generations), I decided to call Sunlight Rug Care to hopefully repair these damages. Ben came to pick up the rug and after a few weeks he laid it out and it looked and smelled amazing, almost new. When I took a closer look I was disappointed to find a cut by the fringe that was not there prior to the pickup. Of course I called very upset and got a very efficient response from Haim Shemesh. After some back and forth, which is normal, Haim said that it wouldn't be the easiest job and that they'd have to redo the entire edge. At this point I got nervous because I had already spent unexpected money to salvage the rug. He was extremely responsive, worked with me to fit within my budget and even went above and beyond to give me a free color fix! I never write reviews but Haim deserves recognition for this, given that my rug came back looking even better than before with a painless exchange with him and Sunlight Rug Care. I give them five stars and would highly recommend them to anyone and everyone. Thank you, Haim read more

The is the best rug company I have ever worked with. I am an Interior Designer & had an Antique business for over 20 yrs. Moving to a new home, I chose Sunlight to take care of a number of handmade carpets, some of them over a century old, that had not been cleaned in years. Haim cleaned and blocked them, and repaired some fraying areas. On a tight schedule, he arrived at my new home with quality rug pads and a helper to patiently place the carpets just before the movers arrived. When he unrolled them I was "floored" by the freshness of the colors. The price was higher than other vendors I checked out, but the service, results, and protection of my investment in these beautiful objects cannot be compared. read more

I was extremely pleased with Haim, the owner's, service. He responded to my request for a quote promptly with an in-home estimate. The turn around time was also efficient and pick up and delivery were smooth. To ensure that I was pleased, he did extra cleaning beyond the initial quote, and the rug looks like new. The service cost more than I anticipated, but was willing to pay to care for my quality rug. And he accepts credit cards so I earned travel points to boot! read more

Haim and the team at Sunlight are rug masters! I have a huge 1950s Persian rug that hadn't been cleaned in years. They not only brought it back to vivid life but repaired worn spots on the rug that I thought were beyond repair but in the end disappeared. The rug looks perfect and gets compliments every time someone new comes over. From their initial consult to delivery of the refurbished rug, every step was smart, smooth and professional. I highly recommend them. read more

Sunlight Fine Rugcare was a pleasure to deal with in every regard. When we first called, Haim offered to come over the following day for a (free) estimate. He was kind, courteous and professional, and his rates are reasonable--we shopped around--particularly given the outstanding quality of the work. We had both cleaning and significant repairs (to the fringes) done on a very large antique oriental rug. Haim and an assistant both picked up and delivered the rug for us, moving multiple pieces of furniture in the process. (Both times, they took care to ensure that our furniture was put back into place correctly.) Now that the work has been completed, our rug has never looked better. The repairs were executed beautifully, and the cleaning has made the colors much more rich and vibrant. We are thrilled, and will certainly be hiring Haim again in the future--and in the mean time, recommending him highly to anyone who wants to give their rugs a new lease on life. read more

My family are very long term residents of our Manhattan apartment and the three oriental rugs in the living room (one large one and two area rugs) have been on the floor a long time. They are still in good shape but were dingy and needing renewal and removal of a few urine spots deposited by our otherwise beloved little dog. Based on reviews, I called Sunlight to do the job. They were prompt and efficient, removed the rugs with no fuss and returned them on time, looking bright and handsome again. The canine traces were not 100% gone but mostly. The price was not cheap, but a good and efficient job. read more

Sunlight did a beautiful job on my custom made rug. Pick up and delivery were fast and easy. Haim was a pleasure to work with!

I had an Oriental rug with a large red wine stain and was leaving for vacation in two days. Haim came over on his day off, assessed the stain and made arrangements to pick it up on Sunday from the concierge. The rug was cleaned -- I cannot find the stain -- and was ready to be delivered when we came back from vacation. Although it was very expensive, it was done well and on time. read more

We've been trusting Haim and Sunlight with our beautiful carpets for three years now. Their work is flawless- they clean the carpets by hand, let you know if they would recommend any repairs (last year we fixed the fringes on one piece, next year we will do the bindings). They are also easy to reach, very customer friendly, and always return the carpets when promised if not before. They also do wall to wall carpet cleaning and other upholstery. While their fine carpet cleaning services are not cheap, you without question are getting the quality that you pay for. read more

We couldn't be happier with the job Sunlight did on our wool rug, which needed cleaning and repair. We used Sunlight to clean our two good Oriental rugs as well as our wall to wall carpets, two sofas and an armchair. Haim and his staff are very personable and refreshingly reliable and we were quite happy with the work. The rug underpads that Haim recommended were significantly better quality as well as cheaper than the thin, flimsy underpads we had been sold by the previous rug cleaner, one that is well known in NYC, but has recently disappointed us greatly. Moreover, Haim did not charge us for pick up and delivery as the other firm did. This was altogether an extremely good experience and we highly recommend the company. read more

Excellent service and communication about pick up and delivery. The two rugs were handled beautifully. I had repair done on a runner and it was so much better than I had imagined. Also a larger oriental with mildew damage had a perfect result. Quite professional and expert care. read more

After calling, the estimate was done the next day. The turnaround time was appropriate (about a week), and when it was returned to me, I noticed that there were some discolorations that were not there previously. I wrote, some weeks later since I am not one to complain or send things back, and they came to take the rug back the next day. This time, when it was returned, the rug was brighter and I could tell there was some elbow work to get the stains out (successfully). A hiccup, sure, but it was handled professionally and with great customer service. Rug cleaning is not inexpensive, but Sunlight is clearly doing quality work with pride. read more
