I have never waited more than 10 minutes to see him (kudos to his staff for running a well organized office and schedule for this busy doctor). He said it was nothing and prescribed an anti-inflammatory and rest. I took about a month off before I started training again, with no issues. I was training for the Marine Corps Marathon, got up to 15 miles, headed out for my 18 mile run and my knee gave out completely. I went back to see the doctor and he diagnosed me with tendinitis, prescribed PT and rest. I took 6 MONTHS off. I spent those 6 months in PT, following orders, doing exercises, etc. I saw him during a 3 month check up and he said I was making progress. When I was discharged from PT, I got the ok to start running again. For 3 months, I gradually built my running back up and got the ok to run a Half Marathon...the Nike Women's Half. At Mile 8, my knee gave out. I went to see a different doctor (Dr. Annunziata). He called for an MRI (something Dr. Pandarinath had never done) and diagnosed me with IT Band Syndrome...which has the complete opposite symptoms of tendinitis. A runner with a knee injury and you don't take an MRI? Even I questioned that. So, now it's May, I'm almost a year out from an injury that typically has a 6-8 week recovery time, and I'm just now starting to recover because of his misdiagnosis. Oh, and I would say his wait times were decent...except for that one time I waited for 90 minutes in his office and he never showed up.

I went to see Dr. Gazdag and he was wonderful. He was funny and an excellent professional. We took more X-rays, so if you see a light in Rockville, it is just me glowing at night. I am in a boot and a cane, but no surgery needed. Amen! The people who work with Dr. Gazdag and Ortho Bethesda were awesome. They were very nice and helpful. I got great care and I have respect for the office. And, thank you, Stacey for making sure I was taken care of.

Summit Orthopedics works closely with Sibley Hospital so I was able to schedule a Monday morning surgery and overnight stay at the hospital. The Nurse Navigator Supervisor at Sibley provided information on Pre-Op procedures and an appointment with Sarah, Summit's Nurse Practitioner, involved a review of the surgical procedures and the list of medications with a review of frequency. Dr. Siram brought together a great surgical team comprised of the Sibley Hospital Orthopedic doctors and nursing staff and an anaesthesiologist. The first nurse assigned to my post-Op care placed top priority on Pain Control and coordinated a meeting with In-House PT/OT Team to review and practice the Post-Operative exercises. I completed 2 weeks of In-Home physical therapy with Potomac Home Health Care, affiliated with Johns Hopkins and Sibley. The PT specialist was exceptional: checked vitals; reviewed my medications; provided a home exercise plan that helped me to begin walking with and without a cane, before starting In Office Post-Op PT. I would strongly recommend the Dr. Siram-Sibley Orthopedic Team.

This is the worst PT unit I've used and I speak as one having done years of PT In the area . The…read morestaff uses a lot of trainees who are randomly called on during your session with the actual PT who seems to have several clients at one time and can't focus on you . The aides seem incompetent and often don't know what your warmup routine is or what you're there for, as if the information is not updated for your visit. Also, some of the therapists seem over aggressive in their treatments, and as an older patient I don't and can't do heavy weights and frankly I got worse going to my sessions. They also leave you unsupervised for gaps of time where no one can correct your form or take your heavy weight from you. The therapists also are always having in depth conversations about sports, their weekends, their lives, their pets, as they 'work' on you and seem unfocused and careless about their jobs. The front desk staff is also rude and disrespectful at times and there is always a backlog of patients waiting to be checked in! I came here because it's close to my house and i have used a doctor from this practice for years but I've now found other options for my treatment and PT!

It has been about 8 months and I was doing great until 2 days ago. I started having pain in the back of my knee and calf. I started taking aspirin to help if it was a clot. The office will not give an appointment until mid October and today is September 10. I will utilize urgent care or go to the ER if it persists. I am concerned about infection. They transferring my telephone call to a different department. I said what seeing his PA but apparently you can't do that. I recommend the surgeon but not the follow up. Ps my primary doctor will fit me in tomorrow unlike my surgeon's office.

I had to ask for someone to return to the room and walk me through what I should be doing--and they seemed genuinely annoyed that I asked. This office was full of that Old-Guard, Good Ole Boys Club energy. I have been to Orthos before and this was the worst. By far. The alarm has been sounded about the treatment of people of color in medicine--This doctor clearly hasn't gotten the memo.

Unfortunately, my experiences with many physicians/specialists in the past have not been all that great because I got the sense that they were trying to rush me through the appointment. However, Dr. Amini took his time to read my medical records and listen to me while I discussed my symptoms. Unlike a few other specialists, he actually let me finish my thoughts before cutting me off with an answer. As the pain became intolerable and she saw her mobility decline dramatically, we sought surgical consults. Dr. Amini was our second consultation. Thoughtful, measured, and experienced in the extreme, while deeply concerned, we were prayerfully led to trust him my mother's care. He and his team are compassionate in addition to skillful. Her pre-surgical stenosis pain is non-existent. She is starting to drive again and has regained a great deal of her agility and confidence. Dr. Amini is clearly gifted and highly trained, as are many neuro-surgeons in the Medstar system. However, his most salient asset is his intentional, patient-oriented approach, and determination to treat his patients like he would want his family to be treated. As my mother said to him, "You restored my hope." Dr. Amini is an answer to our prayers and a primary reason why she is restarting a favorite pastime of walking 10,000 steps a day.

My wife consulted this doctor for a hip problem. During the consultation, the doctor injected her…read morewith lidocaine and cortisol without using ultrasound guidance. Instead, he inserted the needle and then took an X-ray afterward to verify the placement (ex post facto). Unfortunately, something went wrong, which worsened her condition and increased her pain. I tried to contact him for the next week to seek guidance. After 10 days, he finally answered my call, but he was very irritated and started yelling at me. When I asked him to calm down and lower his voice, he warned me that he wouldn't say anything more and then hung up the call. I don't know if he was having a bad day, but that's no excuse to treat patients --or anyone-- like that.
