I have been a supporter of JCPENNY for decades. Unfortunately, today was the worst experience I…read morehave had with this store chain. Troy, who identified himself as the manager, was rude discourteous and very unprofessional. We are visiting Topeka Kansas from Southern California. My store does not close at 6 p.m. on Sundays. Therefore, when I heard the store was closing I was put off guard. My grandson, who we were visiting, was in the dressing room. He had to change clothes and collect the clothes he wanted to purchase. We were assisted by a very nice young lady. While standing at the counter we were approached by Troy who told us we needed to complete our purchase and leave because the store was closing. We were standing at the counter and waiting for the slow computer register to complete our purchase. When I told Troy that I did not receive what he said, positively he gave a very dry fake, ingenuine "sorry." What made it worse is that he was argumentative because his sorry was followed by a "but." "I'm sorry but the store is closing and I can't pay my associates overtime." Customer service fail. The receipt read 6:10 p.m. We spent approximately $200. If it weren't for the joy this purchase brought my grandson I would have asked for a refund. Troy was rude disrespectful and unprofessional.

This is a large thrift store in Topeka, and it is not the store's fault that it receives four stars…read more- I think Topeka thrift stores just suffer from being very picked over, and are competing with the KC metro for inventory. That said, this is an excellent place to find vases and decor. Clothing will be useful but not high end and in good quantity. They do both the color-tag weekly sales along with seasonal promotions for holidays or at the end of seasons. For example, the week after Valentines day all Valentines decor was half off, as were a number of red decor items and scarves were buy one get one half off.

I went because postpartum I'm like I need some dang cloths And I think because it's not next to the Plato's closet or because the thrift gods like me sometimes I find some cute stuff here! I was able to find several shirts and a few bags one that I've been eyeing on other platforms but found it here for cheaper I feel like the stuff I bought was priced alright but some stuff was like too much for me (I might be a Karen though who knows ) But yes there is some negatives but it's still a good place to shop some times :)))
