This is what I loved about the place: - historic site by the water - tons of parking and the parking lines are denoted by "fish lines" - so cute!! - love the historic elements in here - old fishing reels, boat in the middle of the store that you can go into, old fishing pics, Guy Harvey pics and the wooden (1 of kind) carved sailfish - it's a smaller store than the normal Bass Pro and you have to take an elevator (if you want to stay inside) to get to the 2nd floor Overall, it was a fun stop on our way to Key West and the prices were similar to any other Bass Pro Shop. Big and impersonal but they have a TON of stuff. Most things can be had cheaper elsewhere but if you have to have fishing relared gear right now you'll probably find it here. Great tank with back country game fish. A replica of Hemingway's bost "Pilar" is in the center of the store and you can go aboard! Check out is on the bay side of the store, which is a little confusing as it's not by the entrance/exit. Recommended, even if you don't fish! read more

This is one of my favorite stops in the Keys. The Worldwide Sportsman store has everything you could need for your Keys sports and the Islamorada Fish Company is a great place to grab a bite of food or imbibe an adult beverage but the reason I come here is to feed the tarpon. I love it! They are huge and it is so much fun. You stop at the bait shop and tell them you want to feed the tarpon. They sell you a bag of frozen shrimp for $4 and then you defrost them with a bucket and the hose. Then head over to the area where the tarpon swim in from the ocean and prepare to take some great photos. You want to throw the shrimp in low or else the birds will swoop in and grab them before they hit the water. Cheap fun is the best! read more

I went into this store back in Late March 2019. I don't know what Basspro did to this store, but i saw more clothes and little knick knacks than actual fishing gear. And forget about any useful sales people providing advise on fishing gear i guess that is a thing of the past. The fly fishing section was a joke. Keep in mind i have been going into this store since 2008. The last time i was in there was about 3 years ago and the fly fishing section was large with actual sales people who knew about fly fishing. And now that Basspro bought Cabelas i hate to think what they'll do to that store. My advise to any one going Fishing in the Keys is to skip this store all together. read more

I loved this location! This store has a lot of clothing and shoes, when compared to Bass Pro Shop in other areas (meaning, less fishing gear). I enjoyed the decor, and entering the boat, was a total hit with my toddler! She went in 4 times! The glass elevator was also neat. The women's clothing (though very pricey), was beautiful and of good quality. Same with shoes. We spent about an hour in the store, browsing and purchasing a few items. Staff was helpful, specially staff in the shoes department. read more

Obviously World Wide Sportsman has everything a fisherman could ever dream of. This store is so huge and so packed with merchandise and literally takes hours just to go through the entire store and find what you need as well as what you're looking for. Their prices are a little high butt their quality and service are very very good. I like World Wide Sportsman because they have all of the equipment needed when going deep sea fishing and being out in the environment. Every time we come to Islamorada we stopped at World Wide Sportsman and I believe we will continue to do that. read more

Oh wow... so awesome. If you are a fishing enthusiast, or just like great active-wear, then this place is a must see. And to top it off, Hemingway's boat, the Pilar. Though, make sure you are not confused... this is not the same Pilar that Hemingway acquired after returning from a safari in Africa in 1934. The actual Pilar boat is currently on display in Cuba at the Museo Ernest Hemingway, and is owned by the Cuban government after being donated to the people of Cuba by Fuentes. The Pilar's sister ship (also named Pilar and with the original Wheeler name lettering) is on display here at the Bass Pro Shops store in Islamorada, Florida. read more

Once you cross the bridge into the lower 80 mile marker zone, this optimally aesthetic fishing and outdoor retail destination is directly located on your route down south. There's so much inventory that's perfectly varied and worthy of your time here. Every aisle is packed with loads of Keys goods with plenty of fishing gear throughout the store. There's also a plentiful supply of bait for your fishing trips available here. It's such a pleasure visiting this spot whenever I'm nearby because of its vast array of outdoor and fishing goods suitable for every budget. It's smaller than Bass Pro Shops but stocked with finer goods for those with an eye on premium goods. You can even feed the tarpon here which is always a fun Keys experience. It's location I the heart of fisherman's paradise makes this location a quintessential part of Islamorada. Plenty of activities await you at this versatile retail location which proves to be entertaining and resourceful. read more

Lots of clothing - don't need a place like this for clothes - boring. Lots of very pricey fishing stuff but no guns at all. The restaurant that they own is on a beautiful waterfront location but the service and food are pretty bad. I love going to big Bass Pro and Cabella stores but won't be stopping at this one again. read more

This place is worth visiting even if you don't have a dollar to spend. No detail was overlooked in building it. The parking spaces aren't just marked with white lines, but with fish lined up head to tail. It has a sizeable saltwater fish tank with Tarpon and Snook in it. (For those of you who will never have the pleasure of catching or eating a Snook, at least you can know what they look like) The centerpiece is the sister ship to the Hemmingway boat. You can go in it and poke around. There is, of course, great shopping. Gear for everything and nice clothes too. Ladies, take the elevator upstairs, the casual chic keysware is very reasonably priced... which is, I think, the biggest shock about this place. You would expect it to be overpriced. There is a great bar/lunch restaraunt upstairs called Zaney Grey's, and the Islamarada Fish company is next door. It really is a sprawling complex, right on the water (bayside), that is delightful to visit. read more

Went in Saturday to pick up a GPS, something that should be standard equipment in a store that is for fishermen in the keys, they don't have any. They might be owned by Bass Pro-shop but they aren't a Bass Pro-shop. Fishing poles and clothes come here, everything else go to West Marine. read more

Great place. Has everything a fisherman could need. Vary cool fish tank keeps the kids occupied while I shop. It's a bit over priced, you'll probably get a better deal on hooks, sinkers, and line at a smaller bait shop, but for all your major gear this is the place. Gave them only three stars because the service was non existent. There where plenty of employees working but it seemed they where more interested in the latest gossip then assisting customers. This extra ordinary sports store is perfect for a state that houses Disneyworld, as they aren't just selling sporting goods, they're also selling the experience of being a worldly sportsman. The centerpiece of the store is the Pilar, a fishing boat built in Brooklyn by the same shipyard that built Hemingway's boat, and more or less the same (H obviously had his customized). The store is classy -- it is bedecked in beautiful wood paneling and might as well have a lounge for smoking cigars and sipping whiskey. Also check out the old fashioned elevator which would have provided hours of enjoyment if I were still six years old, and the huge fishtank with the ugliest fish you've ever seen. Very cool place with a ton of stuff and very friendly staff. They have a great variety of products and did a great job with decorations and... An awesome fish tank, a really really old sport fishing boat that you can walk right into and explore and a great bar area up stairs. Out back is awesome too. All and all, I recommend everyone driving through the keys to stop in and pick up something and look around. Even waking in and just walking around it worth the pit stop. read more

Very cool sporting goods store with two bars and a restaurant. The sporting goods store is large and has two levels. Good selection of both men and women's clothing. They also have a nice selection of fishing and camping equipment. The outdoor bar is surrounded by a huge natural fish tank where you can feed and look at the fish. Of course it has water access. I agree with everyone else. :) But I would add that over the years it seems to have become more of a tourist place and less of a serious sporting goods store. Not that that's a bad thing per se, but there seems to be more clothes and less other stuff for sale. Still, a worthwhile stop on the Overseas Highway. You can also walk out back to the Bayside Marina and inquire about charters. read more

Ive been coming here every time I go on vacation and it's always been nice except the last few times! The staff is incredibly rude, they say they can't check you out but then I over heard co workers talking saying they can they just choose not to. There is a line of 15+ people and the staff just sit there and watch. When I mentioned it to an associate she just says "i don't know...our staff probably called out sick, that's why there's a line" Not sure why they act like that. If you don't like your job maybe you just shouldn't work here. read more

Horrible customer service. The manager on duty, lady with short hair, gave me a really hard time about an even exchange. I felt as if I had stolen the item. I spend alot of money here and she made things extremely difficult. All I wanted was the same shirt but different size. She said its not the same shirt if its a different size and kept giving resistance to avoid interacting with me. Bottom line, customer service is horrible. And the shirt was the same price.. she never even checked. read more
