The Sun Fun guy was so rude! We rented an umbrella and 2 chairs from the Sun Fun guy at 1st street. The guy brought us to an umbrella which he had already put up. There were 3 elderly ladies about 3 or 4 feet away from his umbrella on the crowded Ocean City Beach at 1st Street. The Sun Fun guy yelled at the 3 ladies, saying they had parked their umbrella too close to his. The ladies said they were there first (before anyone was seated under the Sun Fun umbrella) and that it was a crowded public beach, which was all true. The guy continued yelling and even called THEM "rude" before storming away! We were so embarrassed! read more

I would give zero or negative stars but Yelp won't allow it. So let's dive right into this. We rented and paid for a cart for four days. After paying and submitting our insurance and driver license, we received a confirmation that our cart would be delivered sometime on Sunday. Sunday, 2pm we call and ask for an eta. The exact words were "your cart is on the truck and should be delivered shortly." 4pm rolls around, no cart. We call again and now they are closed. No cart delivered on Sunday. Monday morning we get an email that the system was down and just let us book but what i don't understand is why we were told to submit insurance and driver license by a system that was down. Interesting. I would not recommend this company to anyone!!! Please learn from our mistake! read more

My husband and I researched various places to purchase a cart from Wilmington to Myrtle Beach area. Making any large purchase is usually a process, Shannon made it completely stress free. We found the best deal and her ease with the process was refreshing. Since our purchase in June 2022, we have returned to have side covers installed for those colder / rainy days. Sunfun made all the arrangements for our cart pick up and drop off and the side covers look amazing. We cannot emphasis enough how great all the folks here are but especially a HUGE shout out to Shannon. It was the best decision we have made outside of moving to the area from New England. Tuesday cart went dead on side of road after all night charging. had to trailer back to house and called sunfun. took back to shop and wire came disconnected under foot pedal. manager wouldn't honor another cart but charged $265 for limited use. Would be NO STARS IF I HAD A CHOICE! Worst customer service EVER! Clearly another cart rental needs to open on Pleasure Island and put this one out of business. Called for rental: all booked up the whole week- period. Not nice - no apology, no wish I could help.. nothing. Nasty. Went online: availability ... ok sometimes right hand doesn't talk to left so we booked it. Called to assure the hands are now talking and all off a sudden they have one - hummm.. Brakes didn't work well - squeaked - did not go above 19 mph.. speed limit is 25/35... it should at LEAST hit 25 - nope. 2 people in a 4 person cart by the way. Needed the cart for one extra night so called the day of return: asked if possible to have til next day. Flat out NO. And I quote 'I have all my carts going out tomorrow'. I pushed and said could I get it back tomorrow am? NO. Holy shit ... the worst attitude, curt and frankly rude! Will NEVER rent from them again and I come to this island monthly. We rented a 6 passenger golf cart from SunFun Rentals during our stay at Oak Island. Upon receiving the cart, we went for a short ride and the battery drained extremely fast. We thought maybe it did not have a full charge when it was delivered so I let it charge for almost 24 hours. After a short 20 min drive to the beach it died on Ocean Dr. I had to rent a trailer to haul it back to the house and charge it to avoid SunFun's $150 fee for any service they could deem was the renter's fault (which of course a dead battery would be my fault in their eyes). Once I returned to the house I called SunFun and they sent a guy out the next day to look at it. He said he would have to take it back to the shop and I should call SunFun to discuss a refund. They did not have the customer service I was expecting. After only using the cart 2 times and having to trailer it back to the house the lady still charged me for a 2 day rental. Even after explaining the situation she stated that a 2 day rental was the cheapest option the computer would allow her to put in. After asking to speak with a manager she simply stated "I am the manager and this is how it has to be." I cannot believe the terrible customer service I received and still had to pay over $250 for my trouble and absolutely far from enjoyable experience. I would not recommend anyone rent from SunFun if they expect a personable experience and good customer service. I will be renting elsewhere from now on. -Terri read more
