The staff are very friendly and the pro shop stocks some great golfing gear from clubs to shoes. There is a gym with swimming pool and sauna which currently has great offers for joining which I am tempted to join. Although I have never stayed at the hotel a colleague at work stayed there for a few weeks as was up here from Birkenhead and he thoroughly enjoyed his stay! The newly refurbished bar is also an added bonus. I am looking to become a member of this club very shortly as it is one of the best around.

I'm not a golf player at all but I've often driven up the A174 Sandsend Road (which passes right…read morethrough this course) and admired it. On a warm summer's day I can imagine a round of golf there would be very pleasant -- but by the same token it must be pretty parky at times in winter, with the wind blowing straight off the cold North Sea We had a Sunday lunch at the club house there once a few years ago, and enjoyed the meal very much. The food was good and the views across the golf course and out to sea were fantastic. If they still have a restaurant that's open to the public we could certainly recommend it based on our experience.
