The centre is much improved since being taken over by a charitable leisure company. It has a new name and great facilities and staff.

You pay, lock up your stuff for £2 that is returned to you when you return you key. Cover charge was £10 for an adult all day. They have a cafe that is moderately priced. I was really shocked by how cheap it was. The staff weren't so fantastic. Very rude. No clear order pickup. They just shout at you. They are always right also. Waited a long time and saw people who got the wrong orders. The staff didn't care. I however didn't have these issues. The slides are good! You walk up to one of 3 floors and each floor has a selection of slides. Some require tubes. It's important to know that double tubes MUST have two people. There was no exception made to this during my visit. It gets quite packed and loud when it's busy due to the fact that everyone is inside a dome. Hot temperatures inside make it feel like a hot summer day outside. Overall I was impressed with my visit. I will return when it's not a busy next time.

All in all a good day out in the holidays or anytime with the kids.

They also have a gym, a snooker table, badminton courts etc. It's a really good facility. There is even a local library and a cafe. Parking is completely free around the centre, though beware of rolling trolleys in high winds! There's also a good bus service and for anyone walking in, I wouldn't recommnd the walk alone but all footpaths are safe and a way from the road. The Rainbow leisure centre has a main hall, squash courts, a pool room and bar, a library, a cafe, a gym, pool and a smaller hall usually used for aerobics classes or bouncy castle parties. It's open 7 days a week and offers pretty much any sport you can ask for. You can hire it out for quite a few things, I've been to Bouncy castle parties here and I have been to an 18th here once. The library isn't always open though so look up the times before you go. The cafe is situated above the hall so any parents can look down and watch their children in various sports. Prices are moderate, but you can only start to book cours 24 hours before unless you're a member at the leisure centre. By joining you get to go to a number of places around Middlesbrough. The staff are all really polite and I only have one small annoyance about this place that because of the balcony you're often subject to people leaning over and wolfwhistling as you play badminton or sqaush.
