Had an excellent takeaway from here last week. Really delicious, fresh and varied food. Particularly enjoyed the tandoori chicken.

Average, tastes pretty much like any other Indian but it's not a bad place to sit and eat.

Good Indian food! The interior decor is somewhat lacking, but it is a lovely option for a nearby Indian.

This is our regular and we go often with the family. Great tandoori lamb chops.

So we did some research. Somewhere along the line we found Meraz written up as one of the 12 best Indian restaurants in England. Okay, so we trek over to the East End (pretty wild neighborhood that we enjoyed) for dinner at Meraz. My husband was disappointed not to find a particular dish on the menu, but the waiter didn't hesitate to offer to have the kitchen whip it up special for him. My husband also went a little wild ordering all sorts of appetizers and side dishes. Now I don't like to deal in hyperbole. A five star rating should be sufficient praise. But I'm going to go overboard just this once: BEST INDIAN FOOD I'VE EVER EATEN IN A RESTAURANT. EVER. I've eaten in Indian restaurants at home in Chicago, in L.A., New York, St.Louis, Atlanta, San Francisco, etc., etc. etc. Many have been good, but none approached this. We ate every scrap of all the food we ordered, and only because we had a tight timeline and a busy itinerary for our brief visit to London did we not go back for at least a second meal.
