We finally decided on a car we looked at a couple weeks prior in Marshall (90 minutes away). The purchase ended up a "no-go" so we decided to look at one last dealership which was Lockwood Motors before leaving town. We were fortunate to to have John Afdem for our salesman. He greeted us with a continuous smile, was very helpful, showed a high level of interest in helping us accomplish our goal, easy to talk to and wasn't "pushy". We purchased the cutest vehicle from John and we feel very lucky that we had him as our salesman. We ended our long search on a very pleasant note. Thank you John! What made the situation even more frustrating was being asked whether I knew what a drain plug was or whether I understood anything about vehicles. Yes, I do understand vehicles very well--which is exactly why I had serious concerns about how a simple oil change suddenly turned into an expensive repair. My truck did not go in needing an oil pan. It went in needing an oil change. The technician damaged the drain plug, and I was initially left with the impression that I would be responsible for the cost of repairing the resulting damage--potentially thousands of dollars--and would be left without my vehicle. I made it very clear that I was not going to accept this or being spoke to like that. Chuck quickly understood that I expected the dealership to correct the problem, and have my truck returned to me by the end of the day. Mistakes can happen. What determines whether I continue doing business with a company is how they handle those mistakes. Trying to shift the financial responsibility to the customer--and speaking to the customer as though they don't understand their own vehicle--is unacceptable. They have permanently lost my trust and my business. I will not return, and neither will members of my family. If i could give no stars I would.

When I contacted the dealership, they told me that they would get someone to give me a call back and they never did. When I went to talk to the manager, they pointed me in the direction of Mike, who lacks some serious customer service skills. I am currently nine months pregnant and asked him, "What do they do for their customers when something like this happens? They are supposed to have checked the vehicle over and make sure there are no major issues. He then told me that it's an as is vehicle and I need to take responsibility for my own vehicle and it's not their problem. I told him realistically, if they had checked over the vehicle, there should not have been two major problems within one month of purchase, regardless of if it was a used vehicle or not, and that I have purchased used vehicles from them before and never had these issues. He told me that and I quote "well ma'am I'm not a bank and you need to take responsibility for your own vehicle since you purchased it." He then told me that I could go ahead and write a bad review, but it's not his problem that he won't pay my bill as he's not a bank. That was never asked of him, I simply asked, "What do you do for a customer when you sell them a vehicle and a month later you have two major issues when you sold them on the fact that it was a reliable vehicle?" As someone who was a very loyal customer to kruse and really respected their service, I will no longer be purchasing anything from them nor servicing my vehicles there. I also would not recommend to anyone that you purchase from them with that kind of service and disrespect for their loyal customers, especially through manager, Mike.
