We paid them close to $13K and still the job is nowhere near completed. We pre-paid Joe in cash for pavers to be crushed and spread. We paid cash for Joe to level and pack dirt that he had moved. Again, never happened. One simple job given over 6 months ago (and reminded on nearly a weekly basis) was to move a pile of clay to the round pen. Again, never happened. Joe is a "Chatty Kathy" and loves to hang around and drink on the job. He came over countless times to drink and sleep in his truck to get away from Jena's drama and her kids. We treated them very well while they were working here. We always paid the quoted amount (usually in cash as Joe claimed not to take checks), paid several cash bonuses, gave some payments in advance because they couldn't pay their bills, provided Joe and Jena with beer and gatorade after work days, and took them out for dinner and paid (at least 6-8 times). There were quite a few strange events that happened while Joe and Jena were working here. One day, we woke up at 4am because the horses were running around the house paddock. Someone had unlatched a very secure gate. Jena claimed that it was one of her enemies (she said the Battens) and said they also put screws in her tractor tires. Another example of Jena bringing her drama to work and putting our horses lives in danger! One day after they had been working for us for about 5 months, I complained that Joe had still not completed a lot of the work that was pre-paid. Joe started yelling at me and said he is done and just moved his equipment off the property. He owes us thousands for work that has been pre-paid and never completed. Joe and Jena were hurling insults and cussing at us and our neighbors, threatening revenge while they removed their equipment late that night. Joe and Jena are the most unprofessional people I have ever seen. Joe disclosed to me that night that the reason his work ethic went down the toilet was because my wife would not give him free cows and free horses.

If you want the blades to be sharpened immediately, bring them to the shop in the morning hours. Otherwise, leave them to pick up on another day. The cost for push mower blades are $3 per blade and $3-6 for riding mower blades. The man who works there (probably is the owner) is nice and did the job immediately. Within 3 minutes I got the blades back sharp as can be. I reinstalled the blades and mowed the lawn today. The blades did a great job cutting the grass blades clean across, not all ragged like before. Yay!!! You don't know how happy this made me.
